08/25 – Thanks to The CW, I had the chance to watch the premiere. Here are a few tidbits I can add to the spoilers below: Because of his new dating habits, Gossip Girl gives Dan a new nickname: Playboy. The latter is unable to finish a story, which doesn’t suit well with his boss. Chuck tries to get Blair back but things will not go his way, especially when he can’t say the words Blair needs to hear from him. Blair learns the truth about her new boyfriend James. 08/24 – As the summer draws to a close in the Hamptons, Serena and Nate have everyone fooled into thinking they are a couple to cover up the fact that Nate has been hooking up with a married older woman (guest star [Madchen] Amick) and Serena has been secretly mourning her break-up with Dan. Blair returns from abroad with a hot guy on her arm (guest star Patrick Heusinger), making a very jealous Chuck question his decision to leave Blair stranded at the heliport. Dan has spent the summer assisting a famous author (guest star [Jay] McInerney), but decides to head to the Hamptons to see how things stand with Serena after a summer spent apart. While interning for Eleanor Waldorf’s company, Jenny sneaks an invite to a much-coveted Hamptons’ White Party at which Eric introduces her to socialite Tinsley Mortimer. Matthew Settle also stars. 07/20 – Blair and Chuck back together? Year, right. In [an] Hamptons-set party scene [… they talk] about the love that cannot be. The two will, however, resume their usual bickering: “There’s going to be a lot of insults and evil plans.” Source: TV Guide

07/20 – In the season premiere, the kids go to the Hamptons, Serena and Dan reconsider their breakup and Blair uses a new guy to make Chuck jealous. […] Inside sources are spilling on the latest romantic entanglements on Gossip Girl’s Upper East Side, including news that the show’s original golden couple, Nate and Blair, aren’t reconciling any time soon-thanks to a certain new cougar who’s ready to pounce. This pretty (older) kitty is none other than Mädchen Amick, who, according to CW insiders, will appear in the season premiere on Sept. 1 and is expected to hang around for four or five episodes. Word is, Mädchen is heavily involved in Nate’s storylines and also has “a surprising connection to another new character on the show.” Source: Kristin on E!Online
