I hope Jim does not die off the show. He is part of the show.
All the death in the show you need a little light. Melinda is around death and Jim is her light. Love is worth living and death is cutting your heart out. So if Jim goes away. You are cutting love out…Gwinn

I really hope Jim does not die. He is the reason I watch the show. I love the interaction between him and Melinda. They make such a cute couple. I was really hoping that Melinda got pregnant and carried the baby full term so that they can be even happier. Please don’t let Jim die. I couldn’t even bring myself to watch the show anymore.

I will not watch if they have Jim die for real. The whole show centers around the strength he and Melinda get from each other. Even if he stays as a ghost I will not watch. How disappointing!!

  5. This is just too much. I have always loved Ghost Whisperer and this is just TOO MUCH! Melinda has done nothing but good, helping the ones still alive and the ones that passed on to go to the light thereby helping the both of them find peace. Now Jim has to die? Okay, sure Melinda will be able to see him, duh… But for how long? Until he too has to leave Melinda and go into the light? Why not just rip her heart out and let her die slowly bleeding out slowly but fatally? THIS IS TOO MUCH. Sorry script writers but this is a dumb move. NO, it is NOT romantic!!! Sure to people that have not gone through something similar it seems so pure and romantic that he will still be with her because she can see the dead… But IT IS NOT THE SAME!!! I lost my love when I was 23. I am 40 now. Do you think the pain has lessened? NO!!! Do I still miss him? YES!!! Do tears help? No. Does it help that he has gone into the light? No. Do I understand that he had to? Of course… But all that will never make up for the hole in my heart that I had to live with every day of my life now… He was to me like Jim is to Melinda… Do the writers even know how much it hurts??? I am so sad, upset and dumbfounded that Ghost Whisperer could turn into something lame like this. Please don’t do this to Melinda. Enough is enough.

I just finished watching Ghost Whisperer. Let me tell you, how sad! But I already knew it when I saw Melinda wake up and Jim looked “good as new.” I just knew he had passed and started crying REALLY hard when he mentioned embollism. How terrible!

I am hoping that they bring him back SOMEHOW some way but know that they have plans and are turning the show in a different direction.

At least I hope she had conceived before he passed, so like one commenter had already said “a blessing and tragedy all in one.”

It still is awful that Jim is gone…I LOVED watching him and Melinda on screen, but maybe him as a ghost will be even more dramatic…who knows? *shrugs*

I think I’ll still watch regardless b/c I love all the actors and actresses on there. Still a good show. 🙂

May I also add: I think if all us viewers have an open mind about this then we could be brought in a very interesting direction! 😀

I can honestly say I wll not continue to watch this show without Jim, he was her world..Everything that she does and goes through there is always beautiful Jim for her..well no more for me

I watched this show in the beginning because of my interest in the supernatural, but got hooked because of the wonderful relationship Jim and Melinda had. It gave me hope that a man can be like Jim even if just on a show. I watched because of his complete understanding and love of who Melinda is. Now that they have killed him what next ?He is a ghost to help her? He comes back from the dead? Whatever it is it will never be the same and I am not sure I can stand that. I will continue to watch but only half heartedly. I think they did their viewers a complete injustice. With all the troubles in the world right now it was my escape from it all and now it feels shattered

I really am disappointed in Jim’s death. Why did you all have to “kill” him off??? I don’t think I’ll watch anymore. He was an important “part” of the series! I think everyone will agree that Jim’s death was NOT a good decision. Why does everyone in Hollywood think that making a major change makes sense?? Don’t get it?

     /  November 9, 2008

I agree with so many of the recent posts. My husband and I both agree we will no longer continue to watch this show without Jim on it. Even if he stays on as a ghost or in another persons body it is not the same. The producers made a horrible choice on this one.

     /  November 9, 2008

I was disgusted! He was all she had, I love the scenes they had together, they had really good on screen chemistry.. I actually cried, I don’t think the show will survive without Jim, this is like The OC without Marissa. It’s gonna BOMB! Put him in a coma, do whatever! I WANT HIM BACK!!

  13. Anita

     /  November 9, 2008

I Anita Burt will no longer be watching the show without Jim.
How dare they kill off his character and try to make him a ghost, it is not the same. Jim is Melinda’s only support system. How can she continue to do the work that she does without him. I want him back producers you are really stupid.
What point are you trying to proove.

  14. Autumn

     /  November 9, 2008

What is wrong with the producers of Ghost Whisperer? Why would they kill off Jim’s character? The show is not going to be the same. Jim was the only person who believed in Melinda. This was a very stupid move. I cannot watch the show if Jim is not going to be on there. Why kill him off seriously?

mr producers have you ever heard the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it…ghost whispers was definietly not broke..jim dying cmon that was just a low blow..the show is all about supernatural which i enjoy but the most important part was the relationship between jim and melinda..honestly not many people have that this days..too busy i guess so when we tuned in to ghost whispers we got that feeling all over again..i will continue to watch the show but it won’t be the same ….how about bring jim back she could have been having one of her strange dreams…

I will no longer watch this show. I knew they were going to kill off Jim as soon as that one ghost ‘went after’ him. Many of my friends are saying the same thing: CBS kills him – we won’t watch. NO IFS, NO ANDS, NO BUTS.

No coming back as a ghost to help her
No coming back as a ghost to protect her
No coming back as someone else OR in someones body
    No reincarnation
    No coming back at all.

    Screw this show!

  18. if Jim is gone I am too

  19. Why did you have to get rid of Jim now the show has no meaning .Their relationship was the cement that held the show together No matter what the problem or the sadness of the situation we knew Jim would be there fro her I hate to say it CBS you jumped the shark and me and my group of G W
on Friday friends will switch shows and networks You ruined a good show E.

I also hope they do not kill off Jim. I hope that he is having an out of body experience but that his body is still alive in the hospital maybe in a coma or something. I will still watch because I love the show but it won’t be the same without their chemistry. Great show and I can’t wait to see how it pans out in the next couple of episodes.

I was in tears when I watch the episode of my favorite character Jim the husband of Melinda being killed off on the show But…was bought back as a Ghost.

If that was not bad enough Jim is inside of an another man body that died in a car accident. Now, Melinda has a new love interest but only her closeness friend know it is Jim. Oh, by the way since Jim have taking over another man body and does not have any memory of this life with Melinda, he just have a feeling they have known each other for a life time. When Melinda looks at her new love interest she is seeing Jim face.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THE PRODUCERS THINKING? IF IT’S NOT BROKEN DON’T FIX IT!!!!!!

If the actor who is playing Jim (David Conrad) is still part of the show, I will still watch it. His character brings warmth, romance and understanding to Melinda.

Plus Jim (David Conrad) is sooo Homesome and sooo HOT!!!

    WHAT WERE YOU THINKING????????

You must have been hung over and were not thinking or else you would not have taken Jim from Melinda. He balanced out the only normal time with Melinda since you wrote out the Prof. At least if Jim was going to leave you could have left in the Prof. He could pick up the pieces, they at least had chemistry the new guy does not!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a dream the other night that I was actually discussing this plot move with Jennifer Love Hewitt. It seriously has distressed me! Every Friday I looked forward to watching Ghost Whisperer and Jim and his relationship w/Melinda was a huge draw for me. OK – my suggestion – and I hope the producers will pay attention to this. Make Jim’s death one of Melinda’s nightmares, like Pam when Bobby died on Dallas. Find a way to bring him back. Obviously, we all love him and want him to stay on the show. I had a seriously negative reaction to the show when he was killed off and I, like many others on this blog, vowed to stop watching the show. Love, if you’re reading this – we want our Jim back.

no…. jim is not gunna die.. like haveing him die makes me not want to watch the show!! it really wrecks it! and i think it is
the stupidist idea in the world!!!

  34. I’m another that agrees if Jim is never returning then neither will I he made that show stand out, it was his relationship with Melinda that kept that show electric and now you’ve gone and sizzled it out by killing him off. That sucks BIG TIME don’t kill him bring him back we all love Jim and Melinda killing Jim is just as bad as killing Melinda. Stupid producers have no idea what the public want to them it’s all about money well guess what it’ll be worth nothing since you axed the one greatest actor ever NOTHING will come of this except misery. BRING BACK JIM!!!!!

If Jim dies, I done with the show. There relationship is what keeps me watching!

  38. I recently discovered The Ghost Whisperer and have really gotten into the program. It was perfect until Jim was killed off. That was a really dumb move because the program is no longer the same. I won’t be watching it anymore because Jim was half the program and just ain’t the same anymore. I’m going back to NCIS!
