Private Practive Episode Recap

Katewalsh_privatepractice_240We open this episode with all sorts of lovin’. Sam and Naomi are getting it on, followed in short order by Sam talking business with Naomi before she’s even cooled down. Cooper and Charlotte (with the on-again/off-again Southern accent decidedly on) are in the bath, and Cooper is discussing how he feels he’s a marginalized drag on the practice. Spoilers: Meet ‘Brothers & Sisters” New Brother, Luke Grimes!

Lukegrimes From KorbiTV at

The internet rumors regarding the casting of Ryan Lafferty, William Walker’s illegitimate son, are indeed true. 24-year-old Luke Grimes has signed on the dotted line and is now officially the newest member of the Brothers & Sisters cast. And though my friends at E! Online and were throwing his name around on Monday, Luke tells me he just found out yesterday. The Dayton, Ohio native was kind enough to give me his first B&S interview with a few details on what he’s been through so far and what we can expect from his apparently complicated character…

Congratulations, Luke. I know there were a lot of actors up for this role.

Oh, thanks, yeah.

When did you find out it was yours?
Well, it was kind of weird. Last Friday, I heard that it [was looking good], but the network still had to approve it. I knew that I was the producer’s choice, and then I had to wait for the network and all different kinds of people to sign off on me, so I found out officially officially on Tuesday.

Was it a long audition process?
Well, I went straight to [reading for the] producers, because I had auditioned for them before for something else, but then I think it was probably two weeks later that they had a call back, and then another week later they had a screen test. So yeah, I guess it was kind of a long time.

I was told that your first scene might be with Emily VanCamp. Did you have the chance to read with her during auditions?
Yeah, I read with Emily and with Dave Annable. The two auditions scenes were with them, so they actually read with us in the screen test, which was really nice of them. They were great.

Yeah, I heard about that scene with Dave Annable, there’s a bit of arguing going on between you two, no? Seems like a contentious relationship is brewing.
Yeah, I hear that my character is… you’re kind of not going to know what’s going on, because he’s going to be a little different around everybody.

Right, right. So, Justin will see one side of him and maybe the rest of the family will see another.
Right, exactly.

Cool. Well, we’ve also heard that he has a troubled past, maybe a bit of a drug problem, but he’s now in recovery. Is that what you’ve heard too?
[Laughs] I actually have not talked with anyone about my arc or anything like that yet, since I just found out yesterday. But I’m sure someone will call me and fill me in on this guy soon.

Are you excited?
I am. I’m excited and I’m nervous. It’s a really good honor to be working with Sally Field and all the other great actors on the show. It’ll be nice to meet all them. And actually, Rob Lowe is from my home town so I have that in common with him.

When is your first day of filming?

Alright, so I think we will first meet your character in January then?
I don’t know. You’re telling me what I need to figure out!

Do you know how many episodes you’re contracted for?
It’s a guaranteed four episodes. And then, depending on how everybody responds to the character, I guess I could stay around.

Yeah, the rumor is that if everything works out, you might be a series regular in season four.
Yeah, that’s what they were saying. It just depends on [what] the audience [thinks].

Yeah, and Brothers & Sisters has a passionate fan base. Have you gone online and seen any of the stuff that’s already been written about you or the character?
My publicist sent me something, yeah. [Laughs] I guess I’ve hurt a lot of people’s feelings because they weren’t responding too nicely [to the news of my casting]. They all wanted certain people to get [the part]. I had no idea. I’d never watched the show before, just because I don’t have cable, but yeah, I guess people are really expecting a lot out of this character and they all have their ideas. I just hope I can live up to them.

Things are about to get crazy at Seattle Grace! Major surgeries and of course, the usual amount of personal drama mixed in for good measure. We’ve got video clips and photos from the episode to share with you so if you don’t want to be spoiled, read no further!

In this week’s episode, titled “There’s no ‘I’ in Team,” Bailey will head up a “domino procedure,” which means each surgery hinges on the one that took place before it. Talk about stressful! Meanwhile, Derek gets recognized for the brain-tumor study he and Meredith worked on together. He gets all the credit, which is great for Seattle Grace but probably not so great for Meredith, who definitely put in her fair share of the work.

Before we get to the videos, I want to point out something interesting I noticed when I was going through the images for this episode (posted in the gallery below). Kevin McKidd’s in one of them! Does this mean Owen is back?!

Gossip Girl Spoilers: Tuesday’s Episode

Jenny (Taylor Momsen) befriends a young model, Agnes (guest star Willa Holland), who encourages Jenny to not only explore her wild side, but also confront her boss, Eleanor Waldorf (guest star Margaret Colin), who is attempting to “borrow” Jenny’s designs. Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan (Penn Badgley) agree to attend an art opening at Rufus’ (Matthew Settle) gallery as friends, but the outing gets a little uncomfortable after Serena meets an artist, Aaron Rose (guest star John Patrick Amedori), and realizes they have an instant chemistry. Blair (Leighton Meester) attempts to seduce Chuck (Ed Westwick), but it proves tougher than she ever imagined. Chace Crawford and Jessica Szohr also star. Vondie Curtis Hall directed the episode written by Amanda Lasher.

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Are Mer-Der Getting Married?

From Kristin at E!Online
Grey's Anatomy, There's No "I" in Team ABC/ERIC MCCANDLESS

Shut the front door!

USA Today is reporting that Patrick Dempsey is hinting at a hitchin’ to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). He told a reporter Monday night “there may be” wedding bells in the future for Meredith and Derek on Grey’s Anatomy. “Rumor has it something might be happening,” he said. “I think they have to. It’s time for them to get together!”

That may very well be the case (depending on which impassioned fan you ask), but is a wedding really going down?

“We haven’t shot anything related to any kind of engagement or wedding,” a source on set whispers. “And I haven’t seen anything in a script.”

Well, hmph! Thanks so much, Mr. Sexy Hair, for getting our hopes up!

Of course, the nuptials could very well happen further down the road, and it certainly seems obvious that Meredith and Derek would end up happily (married) ever after at some point, but my guess is that will be a wee bit closer to the end of the series.

So perhaps Patrick is just putting his own plea out there to end the Mer-Der yo-yo games? Could be.

In the meantime, though, sources also tell Kristin at E!Online that as far as they know, there are no current plans to build a dream-house set for Meredith and Derek. So again, that may happen sometime in the future (end of the season?), but not right now.

What do you think of a Mer-Der wedding? Too soon, or should they just tie the knot already?

Heroes Spoilers & Scoop!

Spoil me big on Heroes! Who’s going to die?

Dying of the Light

NBC Photo: Adam Taylor

Coming right up! Here’s your big spoil with a side of tease: I think it’s pretty obvious that a certain recently dug-up bad guy (ahem, Adam) would be going back six feet under, as well as the girl who’s grating on everyone’s last nerve this season (ahem, Maya). But I’m also hearing of another blond female Hero/Villain (seriously, who can say who’s what these days?) whose head is on the chopping block. Check back later tonight for the Heroes Redux for more! — Kristin at E!Online

I’m loving Heroes this year, but especially everything Bennet and the Petrelli. Got anything to share?
How something about the newest Petrelli, Sylar (Zachary Quinto)? We’ll get some clues about the identity of baby Noah’s mother in upcoming episodes when we see Sylar in flashbacks with a female character we know and love. He and his maybe-baby-mama knew each other way back before Gabriel Gray started slicing people’s heads open.

Brothers & Sisters Spoilers: Casting & Ryan Found! Plus Episode 8 Photos!

A Walker is dying! Dying—not dead—so don’t start paying your condolences just yet. There’s a liver failing, and a transplant needed, but the donated organ has to come from daddy. And naturally, this will be a Walker feller who didn’t know he was a daddy. Who could it be? Let me know who you think in the comment is it Kevin or Justin? — Kristin at E!Online

Matthew Rhys indeed hinted at “health issues” vexing Kevin in this Emmys red-carpet video. All I am at liberty to add is that Kevin will consider undergoing a major surgical procedure.  — TV Guide

What are the producers thinking, I believe his competition was much better. So between, Gregory Smith, Jason Ritter, and Jason Dohring they choose this guy, don’t they know how much they disssapointed Everwood and Veronica Mars fans with this news! Does he even have a fan base following him?

TV Guide: Last spring, the Walker clan learned that a boy named Ryan, and not Rebecca, was their long-lost illegitimate kin. Since then, Kevin and Sarah have been on the hunt to locate said sib.

Well the search is over, casting-wise at least, and the winner of the Ryan Walker Derby appears to be… Luke Grimes.

Not Gregory Smith or Scott Porter or Jason Ritter or Jason Dohring, but Luke Grimes.

This news, which is just a signed contract away from being official, was first reported by EW’s Ausiello.

Grimes’ few credits include the nearly (save for Amber Heard) unwatchable horror pic All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, which as far as I know was never released.  (And no, Mickey, he isn’t related to ER‘s Scott Grimes.)

Look for Ryan to surface (and in short order be befriended by Rebecca) around midseason. — TV Guide

Brotherssisterscasting_l From the Ausiello Files:

John Glover, best known tas Lex Luthor’s morally ambiguous papa on Smallville, is joining the cast of Brothers & Sisters as a love interest for Ron Rifkin’s recently outed Saul. Glover’s deal is for a minimum of three episodes.

As first reported earlier this month, Glover’s character, Andrew, meets Saul at the symphony, and the two quickly bond over their mutual love of books, music, art, and, well, men.

New “Brothers & Sisters” pics: Episode 3.08, “Going Once…Going Twice”

Chuck Spoilers: Yvonne Strahovski Previews Sarah’s Surprising Past

Last week, Chuck’s future took a detour when he felt compelled to take one for Team USA and put the kibosh on his simmering romance with Sarah. This Monday at 8 pm/ET, NBC’s Chuck delves into the past, shedding light on how a decidedly awkward teen known as “Jenny Burton” came to be the sexy and savvy CIA agent we know today. Yvonne Strahovski gave us a look at the illuminating episode, which includes a literally kick-ass fight scene with guest star Nicole Richie. I have to be honest. You’re beautiful and sexy, Yvonne, but with the “Jenny Burton” wig and braces … not so much.
Yvonne Strahovski: Oh, you’ve seen it? I’m just walking over right now to the cast and crew screening. I loved doing that episode. The braces really brought me back to my childhood. Were you an “awkward” teen?
Strahovski: Yeah, yeah…. I was always the lanky kid with bad skin. I was a drama [student], though, so not exactly like Sarah. I was a tomboy and didn’t pay too much attention to my clothes. When did you first get wind of what Sarah’s back story would be?
Strahovski: I don’t get much information until about a week before we start shooting. I knew they were talking about delving into the characters’ histories, and I love finding out more about where we came from, and how Sarah became a CIA agent. We haven’t explored the aspect of Chuck’s parents, either. I love Sarah’s back story, especially the scene [at the very end of the episode]. Zachary Levi over the summer promised us double the action and double the laughs, but he failed to mention double the emotion. Last week’s break-up scene, I have to say, really packed a punch.
Strahovski: I agree. The episodes that stand out for me are the ones with more emotion in them. That’s what the audience loves as well. It makes them root for you. What Maxim editor wrote this week’s fight scene featuring you and Nicole Richie drenched in a high-school gym shower?
Strahovski: [Laughs] I had a really great time shooting that. Nicole was excellent and didn’t miss a beat at all. I was pleasantly surprised, as was the cast and crew, at how well she picked up the fight scene. Often we have guest stars who have never done a fight scene before, and they come to us with, well, different “ranges of skill.” But she was on top of her game. Especially in the shower, being all wet. Was a small part of you like, “There’s no way I’d ever get bested by this 5-foot-1 pixie”?
Strahovski: Oh yeah. [Laughs] That’s why I win in the end! What other guest stars have you had fun working with this season?
Strahovski: We had a lot of fun with John Laroquette [as a suave-and-soused former CIA agent]. And Michael Clark Duncan and I had a fight scene [in the season opener]…. Which was hilarious, as Sarah tried to wrestle his massive self to the ground.
Strahovski: He’s massive compared to me, so that was fun. The fight scenes are always my favorite parts. How will the arrival of Jordana Brewster’s character shake things up?
Strahovski: Ohhh, she shakes things up a lot. It’s a great thing for the storyline to turn like that, to have Chuck’s first love come back. Sarah of course gets very jealous, but doesn’t really want to admit that she is. It sounds like it will be Sarah pining now, where it used to be Chuck.
Strahovski: Exactly. I guess she’s always pining, though, in her special way. Who from the regular cast do you wish you worked with more?
Strahovski: I get to work sometimes with “Ellie” and “Captain Awesome,” so the ones I don’t really get to work with are the Nerd Herders, like Lester and Jeff. Though in Season 1 I did have a great scene with Lester in the Wienerlicious, where he asks me on a date. Speaking of the Wienerlicious, are you happier with Sarah’s new, Orange Orange uniform?
Strahovski: Oh, definitely! It’s less cheesy, and I really like the color scheme. And the pants are better to fight in. It’s a more … “convenient” outfit. Have you heard anything about the 3-D episode Chuck is doing at midseason?
Strahovski: In terms of storyline, no. I just know we’re taking an extra day to shoot it, and they’re bringing in a special 3-D camera team. Lastly, how has your life changed since Chuck hit primetime?
Strahovski: Dramatically. I came here with one suitcase and some clothes, so I had to buy a car and get some furniture and find a place to live, make some friends. It’s like starting school again. So, my life has pretty much done a 180.

Supernatural Spoilers: Hellraiser Cast! & More!

November Sweeps: Supernatural: Castiel calls in a warrior angel, Uriel (Robert Wisdom); and Dean tells Sam what happened to him in hell.

From the Ausiello Files: Evil has a new face on Supernatural, and it looks something like the dude to the left.

Okay, it is the dude to the left.

Character actor Mark Rolston (Aliens, Cold Case, Profiler, etc.) has been cast in the recurring role of Alastair, the latest demon hell-bent on terrorizing the Brothers Winchester. His first airdate is Nov. 13.

The original breakdown for Alastair described him as a “calm and composed demon with a placid smile that belies his simmering sadism and evil. He’s one of the top demons in Hell. He’s electrifyingly powerful.”

In other words, he’s scarier than Lilith, right? Not necessarily, says a Supe source. “He knows Lilith from Hell, but it’s unclear exactly which of them is the big Big Bad — or if it’s even one of them,” whispers my snitch. “There are a lot of new mythological elements and characters coming into play this season.”

My guess? The dude outranks Lilith. You agree? Disagree? And regardless of where he fits into Hell’s hierarchy, you have to admit this is a pretty cool piece of casting.

New One Tree Hill Spoilers!

November Sweeps: One Tree Hill: Peyton assembles a USO concert; and the film-noir style episode written by Chad Michael Murray airs.

Is it true that Peyton is pregnant on One Tree Hill?
Nothing is in stone yet (nothing written as far as I know), but I’m hearing it’s likely. Yay…? — Kristin at E!Online

I am hearing that everyone on One Tree Hill is signed for another season — except Chad Michael Murray. Is there any chance the show will go on without Lucas?
Tree Hill superfan Robyn Ross and I confabbed the other day to dream up a world where the show goes on minus Lucas… and frankly, we came up empty. That said, who’s to say the Chad won’t eventually re-up? Dude’s writing and directing this season, so he should be in a very happy place. For the record, Chad’s rep tells the Buzz he is “willing to listen” to offers to re-sign. She then pointed out that the episode Murray wrote, airing Nov. 17, is “phenomenal… nothing like anybody has ever anticipated coming from One Tree Hill.” — TV Guide

Latest Smalleville Spoilers!

Kristin Kreuk, Tom Welling, Smallville

The WB/Brian Cyr

November Sweeps: Smallville: Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort) and Lana Lang return; Davis tells Chloe she’s marrying the wrong man; Brainiac replaces Chloe’s memory with Kryptonian code—but can the Fortress of Solitude unscramble it before her wedding day?

We know that in the episode “Bride,” Clark and Lois will recognize the spark between them just in time for Lana to come back. Can you give us any hints about what happens there?
Well, we are going to find out why Lana (Kristin Kreuk) has returned and where she’s been all these months. We’ll also learn why she left that Dear John video for Clark (Tom Welling). And I’m hearing Chloe’s wedding reception will not go as planned. — Kristin at E!Online

New Gossip Girl Spoilers: Bart Bass is the one who dies!

Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Gossip Girl

November Sweeps:

Gossip Girl: Little rebel Jenny plans a guerilla fashion show; Eleanor gets a new boyfriend—who Blair, naturally, despises; a prominent cast member dies; and guests include Willa Holland (The O.C.), John Patrick Amedori, Wallace Shawn and Cyndi Lauper.

Giovanni Rufino / The CW

OMG! Is it true someone is dying on Gossip Girl?! Tell me everything!
My infallible Magic 8 Ball says: Yes! It’s happening in November, and I can tell you that the character who dies is male and that he is a third wheel whose death just might clear the way for a long-awaited couple to get together. I know you can figure this one out if you put your smart little noggins together in the comments section, so have at it, will ya? (Also, um, keep reading.)

Will Dan and Serena ever get back together?
Not anytime soon, but their parents might…Rufus (Matthew Settle) and Lily (Kelly Rutherford) will get closer, from what I hear.

I’m hating Jenny on Gossip Girl. Will she ever go back to being tame?
Not by a long shot. Dropping out of school was only the beginning, and I’m hearing the words “hostile takeover” are in her future. It happens round about episode nine and will make you feel like you did nothing at all when you were 15. — Kristin at E!Online

Greek Episode Recap: “Three’s A Crowd”

Greek - Three's A Croud

From Cinema Blend: You know, I was starting to have my doubts about Ashleigh as president of ZBZ as tonight’s episode of Greek went on. Frannie and Evan thought they had the whole “pref” thing wrapped around their fingers and they sort of did for a while. Meanwhile, both Rusty and Cappie were dealing with some threesome action.

Casey’s trying to deal with Ashleigh getting the ZBZ president position. She hands over the book of rules and Ashleigh attempts to run the first post-election meeting. After she announces a Dobler’s night for some sister-bonding, one of the sisters brings up the whole pref thing, which apparently is crucial for ZBZ. Basically, they need the Omega Chi’s to pref them, which means invite them to the first mixer of the next school year. Their entire social status depends on it. No one seems to question what’s wrong with that as the chief concern is getting the invite. Frannie offers to talk to Evan about it but Casey assures the girls that Ashleigh has it under control.

Ashleigh doesn’t have it under control. A sit-down with Evan to discuss the pref invitation ends badly after Evan tells her that the Omega Chi’s are “shopping around” and not sure they’re going to extend the ZBZ’s the invite. Casey doesn’t help matters, jumping into the conversation and being argumentative with Evan. Ashleigh has a problem standing up to Casey, though she does try numerous times to remind her BFF that she’s president and it’s up to her to decide how they’re going to deal with this.

What we come to learn is that Evan’s hesitance in inviting the ZBZ’s has less to do with what the Omega Chi’s want and more about what Frannie wants. He’s purposely holding back on the invite, as he and Frannie are hoping Ashleigh will cave and ask Frannie to talk to him and thus, allowing her to get all the credit. Ashleigh does inevitably cave after it seems like the Omega Chi’s aren’t going to show up to the party they threw at Dobler’s. Casey’s upset that Ashleigh gave in to Frannie, considering it a personal defeat. Her jealousy and control-issues are kind of annoying (but understandable as she’s still getting used to the idea of Ashleigh taking over her old job) but then she makes a really good point by telling Ashleigh that the Omega Chi’s have all the power in this situation and that it’s really Evan who’s president of ZBZs.

Ashleigh takes Casey’s words to heart and the following morning when one of the girls (Betsy, maybe?) announces that Omega Chi will be extending the pref invite, Ashleigh in turn, announces to the ZBZ’s that they’re declining the invitation and going with the #2 fraternity on campus, the Lambda Sigs. Frannie is shocked and tries to argue this, realizing her big win might be falling apart. Ashleigh makes an analogy about Angelina Jolie and how she defines what’s cool just by doing what she wants and being herself and that’s what the ZBZ’s need to start doing. They need to stop defining themselves by the frat they mingle with. Ashleigh inspires half the girls (plus 3) to vote her way and when the Omega Chi’s show up, Betsy turns them down. Burn! I love Ashleigh for this. I was getting seriously annoyed by how vital the whole Omega Chi status seemed to be for the ZBZ’s, plus Ashleigh convincing the girls to decline the invite was sure to be a blow for Frannie, who was all set to claim all of the preffy-glory. Casey really seems to be trying to let go of the presidency and hopefully it won’t be much longer before she and Ashleigh are back to normal.

While Ashleigh is busy dealing with being ZBZ president, Rusty and Dale are set to part ways next semester as Rusty is going to live in the Kappa Tau house. Dale tells Rusty that his old purity-pledge partner Kirk is transferring to Cyprus Rhodes and the two are going to live together. In a nutshell, Kirk is a weirdo. He first jumps out on screen having been hidden behind Dale’s bed for four and a half hours, waiting for Dale to come back to his room. Now I’m thinking Kirk’s going to be another uberChristian nerdy-type just like Dale but as it turns out, he’s not so pure.

After noticing Kirk’s spacey behavior and abnormal food cravings, Rusty starts to suspect that something’s not right with him. Then Kirk (or is it Kurt?) asks Rusty where he can “score some herb.” Yeah, Kirk’s a pothead. This wouldn’t be so weird by normal college standards but since Kirk’s supposed to be Dale’s new roommate, Rusty realizes it’s a problem. He tries to tell Dale about it but Dale being Dale chooses to blindly believe that Rusty’s mistaken and that Kirk is just as pure as he is.

Kirk convinces Dale to go to the KT party and ends up getting himself, Dale and Rusty arrested by campus security for breaking an open-container law. No amount of Jedi-mind-tricking was going to keep Huck from arresting them. After doing “hard time” in the clink, Dale realizes that Kirk really is just a pot-smoking cheese weasel. He and Rusty agree to room together next year. It’s for the best as the room Rusty was going to move into is an utter dump and he probably would’ve gotten the plague or some other disease from whatever’s growing in there.

Cappie spends the duration of the episode trying to live down the unwanted serial-monogomist reputation he’s acquired. He takes the phrase “serial monogamist,” which Beaver picked up from his self-education through Wikipedia, as a total insult and vows to have a threesome with two girls at their upcoming party. He spends the duration of the party trying to convince two girls to go upstairs and get it on with him. He gets slapped a lot but finally finds Lisa Lawson, a girl known for her loose virtue and she naturally agreeable to a threesome. Then Cappie finds girl #2 but she turns out to be an enemy of Lisa’s since Lisa slept with her boyfriend. Lisa leaves but girl #2 (Chrissy?) agrees to go ahead with the threesome if they can invite one of her sorority sisters. Everything goes wrong though as Cappie finds the girl but then loses Chrissy.

In the end, Cappie doesn’t end up waking up next to two hot sorority girls as he planned. He did wake up between Beaver and Wade, who crashed in his bed after their rooms were being used for recreational activities, including Cappie’s threesome (which happened with another brother instead of Cappie).

The episode ends with a cliffhanger. It’s the infamous “hell week” has begun! In this season’s finale we’ll get to see just how bad things are for the pledges as they make their way through the last week of pledging.
