Desperate Housewives Season Finale Recap: 6.23 “I Guess This Is Goodbye”

On Desperate Housewives‘ sixth-season finale, there were a bunch of bad guys on Wisteria Lane. Gaby found herself in serious danger when her friendship with Angie put her at odds with Patrick Logan. Both Sam and Orson presented Bree with ultimatums. Lynette went into labor, with only crazy Eddie to feed her ice chips. And Susan’s bad guy? Oh, that’s her husband, Mike, whose boneheaded financial decisions rendered them homeless. Plus: A new mystery was revealed and a familiar face returned.

LYNETTE

Eddie tells Lynette that he’s the Wisteria Strangler and her water breaks. Meanwhile, while Lynette is in mortal peril, Tom is hungover. He sees Lynette’s car outside Eddie’s house and assumes she’s mad at him for getting drunk. He knocks on the door and when she doesn’t answer, he thinks she’s giving him the silent treatment and leaves — which means that Eddie is going to have to deliver Lynette’s baby.

A squeamish Eddie discovers that the cord is wrapped around the baby’s neck. He remedies it and delivers a baby girl. Once it’s over, Eddie decides to leave, but Lynette is an idiot and convinces him to go to the police. While they’re waiting, she asks him to hold the baby. [Insert “I give up” hand gesture here.]

BREE

Bree tells Orson and Andrew that Sam knows about Mrs. Solis’ death, so she’s going to give him her company. Andrew says he’ll take responsibility for his crime, and it’s funny that nobody takes note of the fact that Orson was in the exact same position about two seasons ago. But Bree is resolute in her convictions, and she turns the company over to him — but not before she tells him that her fortune is not going to buy him happiness.

Orson finally points out the obvious, that Bree has two men in her life guilty of vehicular manslaughter, but only one has done the time for his crime. He’s disappointed that she doesn’t expect as much of Andrew as she did of him, because he loved her for expecting more of him. So… he decides to leave her.

Bree asks Andrew to turn himself in, and then she decides to tell Gaby what happened. We don’t see how Gaby reacts, but this will presumably resonate into the next season.

SUSAN

The Delfinos are having a yard sale before they move… and Frau Farbissina is there for some reason. She’s lowballing Susan on something or other, and I suppose it’s meant to show that things are tough for the Delfinos and that they will be ostracized by their affluent neighbors. But they’re definitely moving out, but first they accidentally sold M.J.’s T-Rex to Roy. They go to try to get it back, but Roy has already given it to his deaf grandson. So they can’t take it back. Susan tries to teach M.J. a lesson about life — things don’t always work out the way you want them to, etc.

Mike recognizes that Susan’s little morality play was really about them losing their house, and she finally blows up and tells Mike she blames him for ruining their life. It’s kind of emotional, and it makes me suddenly realize that Susan and Mike won’t be living on Wisteria Lane next season. But they present a unified front as they say goodbye to the ladies and drive away.

GABY

Gaby tries to sneak into Nick’s hospital room by pretending she’s Angie, which allows Eva Longoria Parker to break out a Brooklyn accent in a scene she should submit as her Emmy tape. Hilarious. (One quibble: It’s not “zitty”; it’s “zee-tee,” Eva.) But it works, and she springs Nick from the hospital. Unfortunately, he loses consciousness when they get to the house, so Gaby has to go it alone.

She recruits Susan in her efforts. While Susan knocks on the door, Gaby sneaks around the back of the house. She rescues Danny, but… (see below)

ANGIE

Angie builds a bomb for Patrick, and he wants her to accompany him to Oregon. He tells her he’s going to put the bomb in the trunk while she says goodbye to Danny, who’s tied up in the bedroom. But instead, he puts the bomb in the linen closet at the Bolens’ house. And then they leave.

But Patrick lets her in on his little secret as they’re driving away, just before he detonates the bomb. With only 30 seconds until the bomb explodes, Angie starts off in a mad dash to save Danny and then… she stops, turns on her heels and says, “It’s in the detonator.” And then — kaboom! — Patrick’s car explodes. Angie and Nick are leaving Fairview, with financial help from Gaby. They’re taking a bus to Atlanta, since even though Patrick is dead, they’re still on the run from the FBI. But there’s a final twist: Angie and Nick let Danny go to New York to be with Ana. Aw.

TERESA PRUITT

Former maternity nurse Teresa Pruitt has a secret, and on her deathbed, she’s telling her clergyman. The priest tells the hospital administrator and it causes a ruckus. One of the attorneys says he knows one of the families involved in Teresa’s secret — “they live two blocks from me, on Wisteria Lane,” he says. It’s then that we learn that Teresa’s secret was that she accidentally (or intentionally?) switched two babies at birth. We know that Nurse Pruitt helped care for Susan’s, Gaby’s and Lynette’s babies, but who do you think the switched-at-birth Wisteria kid could be? My money’s on Danielle van de Kamp, since it’s shifty that they didn’t show a scene of Nurse Pruitt with Bree, and let’s face it, that kid is the worst.

PAUL YOUNG

Ack! Guess who’s renting the Delfino house? It’s Paul Young, Mary Alice’s creepy jailbird husband. “I guess everyone will be surprised to see you again,” Lee says as they sign the rental agreement. “They absolutely will,” he replies menacingly. Oh God, these people again!

What did you think of the season finale? Was the resolution of the Bolen mystery satisfying? Were you sad to see Orson leave Bree? Or Susan leave Wisteria Lane? What “P” name do you think Lynette will choose for the baby? Why do you think Paul Young has returned? And do you miss Katherine as much as I do?

Desperate Housewives Season 7 Spoilers: Baby Switch, Whose? & Paul Young Returns!

Desperate Housewives – Secrets From The New Season

“Desperate Housewives” returns for its seventh season this fall and Executive Producer Marc Cherry tells ET, “The secrets get darker, the action gets juicier and I am going to try to make it sexier!”

ET was on Wisteria Lane as the seventh season began filming to get the inside scoop on what lies ahead for Gaby (Eva Longoria Parker), Bree (Marcia Cross), Susan (Teri Hatcher) and Lynette (Felicity Huffman).

“What we start to deal with in the first episode is the ramifications of something we have been holding back for six seasons,” Marc says. “[Gaby] finally finds out that Andrew [Shawn Pyfrom] — Bree’s son — ran over her mother-in-law. That starts to affect their friendship in a major way.”

That hit-and-run accident may be old news, but there will be another hit-and-run in the second episode of the new season, putting the two families into conflict a second time.

The sexier action — and Marc jokes that Bree may have a red bra in her future — will be added by Brian Austin Green, who will be a working-class guy who becomes Bree’s new love interest.

Also joining the cast this season is Vanessa Williams, who will be playing the wife of a professional athlete who is having marital problems.

“She has money and style but her background is different [than Gabby’s],” Marc says. “We are introducing her as Lynette’s best frenemy from college, so she comes and shines some light on Lynette’s choices. It is some of the best bitchy dialogue we have had on this show!”

Returning to Wisteria Lane after a term in prison is Paul Young [Mark Moses], who was framed by Felicia Tilman [Harriet Sansom Harris] for murder. Felicia disappeared after cutting off two of her fingers, making it appear as if Paul was responsible for her demise. Paul returned at the very end of season six, renting Susan and Mike’s [James Denton] house, now that finances have forced them to move into an apartment.

“We are going to find out how he was released from jail and that storyline will play out through the year,” Marc says.

And don’t be surprised if Betty White makes a visit to Wisteria Lane. She and Marc worked together on “Golden Girls,” and he says, “I adore Betty. If there is any way to do it, I would love to have Betty on the show. It is something that would make my heart very happy.”

Desperate Housewives – End Date is ‘in Negotiation’

“Desperate Housewives” doesn’t have a firm end date yet. It could in the relatively near future, though.

Creator Marc Cherry says that he can see the series lasting a couple more seasons, “but I don’t want to try and match ‘Gunsmoke’s’ record.”

“It’s in negotiation — that’s all I can tell you,” Cherry says of an end date for “Housewives.” “ABC is talking to people. … There are meetings going on with agents and stuff, but we’re just kind of here doing our work.”

Cherry has talked in the past about wanting to end the show after seven seasons; he later struck a deal to stay with the show through a ninth year, when his current deal with ABC Studios expires. (There have also been rumblings that the show might end after next season.)

He also says he hopes to keep the show’s principal cast of Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker together until the end.

“That to me is absolutely the optimum,” Cherry says. “I’m aware that it’s very tricky to take beloved cast members [out of a show] when the premise of the show is it’s an ensemble. … So while I’m mindful that my gals have other careers going on, and they’re starting families and doing stuff like that — that they might have other interests that might take them away — my goal, and I’m going to work really hard, is to try to keep the core group together to the bitter end. I think that would be a lovely way to end the show.”

Season 7 of “Desperate Housewives” is set to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 26

Desperate Housewives – Frenemies, Paul Young and clean-shaven Carlos in Season 7

The producers of “Desperate Housewives” aren’t giving up whose baby was switched or why exactly Paul Young is returning to Wisteria Lane, but they did share a good amount about what we’ll see in the first part of Season 7 during a set visit Tuesday (July 27).

Read on for details about Vanessa Williams’ and Brian Austin Green’s characters, Teri Hatcher’s “shady” new boss and more.

Lynette’s friend

Williams plays Renee Perry, Lynette’s (Felicity Huffman) former college roommate who moves to Wisteria Lane after hitting a rough patch with her husband. “The have sort of a frenemy relationship,” executive producer Bob Daily says. “Renee had gone off to New York and married a very wealthy pro athlete, a baseball player. She’s always been a little more wealthy than Lynette, had more of a jet-set, no-kids kind of lifestyle. … We’ll continue to play that friend/bitter rival relationship with them.”

Adds Williams herself, “She’s very competitive with Lynette, and they’ve got — I wouldn’t say a tempestuous relationship, but it gets a little rough at times. A lot of people around the neighborhood notice how we go at it. But it’s also fun — Felicity loves it because she gets a chance to be funny. We have some nice quips.”

Bree’s man

Green has joined the cast as a contractor whom the newly single Bree (Marcia Cross) hires — and who soon becomes a person of interest on the lane. “She and [Renee] will go after him at the same time; there’s a little competition going on there,” Daily says. “But we’re really playing out what it’s like for Bree to be dating again after so long, and to be dating a younger, blue-collar guy.”

Paul’s return

The season will pick up pretty much right where last year left off, with Paul (Mark Moses) having just returned to the neighborhood. “He’s got a grudge against the neighborhood, he’s got a plan, he’s got a wife — we just cast the wife, Emily Bergl [‘Men in Trees’]. … She’s a woman who started corresponding with a convicted murderer in prison. They got married while he was still in, then she was surprised to find out he was released.”

Susan’s move

Last season’s end also saw Susan (Hatcher) move off Wisteria Lane, and she’ll be trying to figure out a way to move back. “We have her getting involved in a sort of shady Internet venture that’s run by Lainie Kazan,” who’s guesting in several episodes, Daily says. She’ll also be Paul’s landlord: “That’s going to be kind of an awkward relationship for everyone. … We play that for a lot of creepy comedy in the first couple episodes.

Other bits:

– Creator Marc Cherry says Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) will begin the season clean-shaven as a result of him doing a production of “A Streetcar Named Desire” over the hiatus. He asked Cherry if he should wear a fake goatee for a while, and Cherry said no, but “I hadn’t seen him for a while without it, and he looks like he’s 14 years old.”
– Cherry also says that now that Paul has returned, he’d like to see his son Zach (Cody Kasch) return as well. Nothing is in place yet, but Cherry hopes to book Kasch for later in the season.

Desperate Housewives – Article from Ausiello about Emily Bergl as Beth // <![CDATA[//

First Wilhelmina Slater. Then David Silver. Now Annie O’Donnell!
A Desperate Housewives insider confirms to me exclusively that Men in Trees‘ delightfully daffy Emily Bergl (a.k.a. Annie) is a breath away from landing the recurring role of Beth, the fragile soul who married Paul (Mark Moses) while he was behind bars. In season 7, she joins him on Wisteria Lane with a juicy secret.
No one ever just comes to that block with pie, do they?
So what do you think of all the DH newbies? Are you excited to see what Vanessa Williams, Brian Austin Green, and, hopefully, Bergl bring to the table? Or are you thinking, “Well, there goes the neighborhood”?

The Season 7 Premiere of Desperate Housewives will be called “Remember Paul”

Desperate Housewives – Brian Austin Green Joins The Series // <![CDATA[//

It is no longer whispers among the housewives that Brian Austin Green will guest star on “Desperate Housewives”. It has been confirmed that the newly-wed has signed on for a multiple episode appearance when the show returns this Fall with the seventh season.
“The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum will play Keith, a new contractor and charming playboy who turns up the heat on Wisteria Lane,” so the description of his character reads. The show’s rep added that Keith is in his 30s and he catches the eye of some of the neighbors.
Green who married Megan Fox last month, had a recurring role on “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” before it was canceled. He also portrays John Corben aka Metallo on “Smallville”.
ABC has just announced its Fall schedule and “Desperate Housewives” still occupies Sunday 9/8c slot. The first return episode airs September 26.

Desperate Housewives – Info on Vanessa Williams’ character // <![CDATA[//

Vanessa Williams has inked a lucrative contract to stay within the ABC family as the newest of Wisteria Lane’s Desperate Housewives. Now here are the exclusive first details about a character that couldn’t be more different from Vanessa’s Ugly Betty witch, Wilhelmina Slater. First off, she sounds about as desperate as any housewife who has ever lived on the Lane.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Vanessa will play Renee Filmore-Jones. She is an old college chum of Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman). They were rivals way back in the ’80s, and we can certainly expect that relationship to continue in Fairview. (Oh, please give us flashbacks of these two duking it out in their dormitory!)
Renee has been married for years to a handsome, hunky man (likely an athlete) named Keith Jones (I’m so picturing NYPD Blue hunk Henry Simmons in this role, though it’s yet to be cast). They have no kids, meaning Renee has spent all these years just being a housewife supporting her man. But she’s reached a time in her life when she wants to do more.
Oh, one last thing: she has a secret. Who on Wisteria Lane doesn’t?

Desperate Housewives – Season 7 – 3 New Series Regulars

Just wanted to let you know that Desperate Housewives will have 3 new series regulars this season. Keith, Penny (Tom and Lynette’s daughter) and Beth.

Desperate Housewives – Season 7 – New Roles and Recasting // <![CDATA[//

Who is being replaced on Desperate Housewives? Going into its seventh season, the ABC series is looking for a new Penny, the daughter of Tom and Lynette Scavo. Kendall Applegate, 11, who took over the role from toddler twins two seasons ago when the show jumped five years into the future, is out. The search is now on for a new 12-year-old actress to take over the role.
In addition, returning villain Paul Young (Mark Moses) has replaced his late wife Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) with a new young bride named Beth. While serving time in prison, Paul was contacted by a quirky lady around age 30, who eventually became his new Mrs. Beth is covering up a painful past, which we can assume Paul preyed upon.
And lastly, a new hunk is coming to Wisteria Lane who sounds like a younger version of James Denton’s Mike Delfino. Mike will be living off the Lane in a cheap apartment with wife Susan (Teri Hatcher). The new guy is a 30-year-old playboy apparently named Keith (which incidentally was the name a source told me was going to be used for Vanessa Williams’ character’s husband).
Excited about these additions? Which housewife should the new hunk seduce? Perhaps Bree (Marcia Cross), since she will be Orson-less? And with the show going to the effort to replace Penny, what do you hope they’ll do with this character who has long been part of the background scenery?

Season 7: Baby Switch & Paul Young

Source: EW.com

What I loved most about last night’s goodbye to season 6 was the delicious setup it gave to season 7, potentially making the next year one of the series’ best. Two huge storylines were put into motion, and they seem like good ones. First, we’ve got a baby switch coming on the Lane this fall. Specifically, last night, an old nurse at Fairview Memorial, Teresa Pruitt, confessed on her deathbed that there’d been a baby switch on her watch. We weren’t given any clues to work with about who it was, besides the news that it’s someone on Wistera Lane, natch.

Now, the Desperate producers could take this storyline in one of two directions. It could concern a switch between a child of the main housewives and someone random — or, with the potential to be much juicier, a switch between two children of the main housewives. I was thinking about whose kids are around the same age and sex and wasn’t coming up with much. I had the thought, however, that this seemingly random storyline could have something to do with next season’s other big storyline — the return of Mary Alice’s husband Paul. See, do you all remember their creepy son Zach? Could it be that, maybe, Andrew and Zach were switched at birth? I have a feeling that the baby switch has something to do with Zach or Paul. Actually it must — otherwise, it just won’t be as interesting.

But anyway, the second storyline for next season — Paul’s return — should be good. That the producers are dipping back into stories from earlier seasons is a good sign — mostly because those seasons were much better than the last couple. I say, let’s bring some of that yesteryear magic back! Paul moving in clarified why Susan and Mike and MJ had to move off of the lane — mostly so that Mary Alice’s husband would have somewhere to live. Although it’s not exactly clear about why, for story purposes, Paul needed Susan and Mike’s house specifically. Couldn’t the producers have just created a new house on the Lane for him to live in and left Susan and Mike there? I’m betting there’s a sick and twisted reason why Paul needed that house, and we’ll find out more about that come September. Also, bringing Paul back means that the delightfully nasty Felicia might also make a return appearance.

Armchair Casting Director: ‘Desperate Housewives’

desperate-housewivesImage Credit: Florian Schneider/ABCWisteria Lane is getting a transfusion of new blood this fall in the form of four new characters (not including the incoming diva played by Vanessa Williams). Deets on the rookie quartet (and casting tips) are below…

Maxine: A sweet lady in the 60-80 year-old age range. Maxine is Mike and Susan’s new neighbor in their apartment building, and she has an unusual job that brings in some additional income.
Armchair Casting Director suggestion: Santa Barbara‘s Judith McConnell

Beth: This quirky, sweet thirtysomething woman was Paul Young’s prison pen pal-cum-wife. She’s damaged emotionally but also capable of humor.
Armchair Casting Director suggestion: Charlotte Ross.

Penny Scavo: Tom and Lynette’s 12-year-old daughter is being recast. Not sure why.
Armchair Casting Director suggestion: I’ve got nothin’.

Keith: Hot, sexy, 30-year-old contractor. He’s a charming playboy who turns up on Wisteria Lane. Think Mike Delfino 15 years ago.
Armchair Casting Director suggestion: Eric Winter

Desperate Housewives – An Old Baddie Returns!

Desperate Housewives is adding a new villain to Wisteria Lane. The twist? It’s an old villain!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Mark Moses is slated to reprise his role as Mary Alice’s creepy widower, Paul, on a full-time basis next season.

The character was last seen in season 3 when Mike paid him a visit in jail, where he’s serving time for murdering poor Martha Huber. After leaving Housewives, Moses joined the cast of Mad Men as Herman “Duck” Phillips.

Earlier this year, Housewives creator Marc Cherry hinted to me that he was thinking of bringing on a new vixen to succeed Nicollette Sheridan. “We hope to add a troublemaker,” he clarified, “but I’m not so sure it’ll be a woman.” Sneaky!

Thoughts? Anxious to see what trouble Paul will stir up this time around? Sound off below!

‘Desperate Housewives’ – ‘I Guess This is Goodbye’ Recap (Season Finale)

Desperate Housewives(S06E23) “I guess everyone will be surprised to see you again.” – Lee to the not-so-new new Wisteria Lane resident

It may not have been the most action-packed and thrilling season finale we’ve had for the series, but it was still compelling TV. We witnessed a birth and a death while hearing a shocking secret and noticing the return of a character.

The worst event of the episode was when my ABC station decided to freeze and go to a black screen for a few seconds as Bree made her request to Andrew and when the shocking secret was revealed. If that was the case for you too, I’ve gathered the needed intel for us to be fully in the know as it will be a major storyline next season. That and the return of the person who shall not be named! Lynette and Eddie

That storyline’s ending left me wanting more as I thought it was too easy and quick of a wrap up. I get that Eddie wanted someone to finally be proud of him and that’s why he agreed to turn himself in but I expected more action from this. We are talking about somewhat of a serial killer after all. How about showing the cops smashing the door, cuffing Eddie and saving Lynette?

Susan and Mike

Don’t be afraid, the Delfinos will still be around next season. Actually, I believe they may be involved in next season’s year-long mystery. More on that in a bit.

The Bolens

Bravo Angie for being one brilliant bomb maker! She put the bomb in the detonator! It was risky as she could have been next to Patrick but the best bet to kill the less people. Bye bye Patrick! I’ve enjoyed Angie, so I’m glad she survived and got a happy ending with Nick. As for Danny, we may see him again next season since he is off to New York City where Ana is.

Bree, Andrew and Orson

It wouldn’t be surprising if the Solises decide to not talk to Bree and family at the start of next season. However, it’s pretty sure that something bad will make them bond again eventually. I felt a bit dumb when Orson told Bree that Andrew committed exactly the same crime he (Orson) committed. Why didn’t it even cross my mind when we were reminded of Andrew running over Carlos’ mother last week?!

It’s understandable that Bree wanted to protect her son but Orson was right that she should have asked Andrew the same thing she asked of him, her husband: pay for his crime. Since Shawn Pyfrom, who plays Andrew, is leaving the series, it’s a safe bet to assume that Andrew will indeed go to jail. Will Orson go back to Bree now that she made things right? I doubt he’ll run back to her. He’ll make her wait a bit.

Teresa’s secret

As I’ve said in my intro, I missed most of the scene at the end where we discover the secret. I did hear that there was a baby switch. After doing a quick research, it seems that I didn’t miss that much of the secret.

I don’t remember if Susan and Mike ever told the sex of MJ when she was pregnant. Right now, my money is on MJ having been switched as a baby while in the hospital. Could it be that MJ was switched with Paige, Dave’s deceased daughter? Or maybe MJ and Roy’s deaf grandson? Yes, it would be difficult to switch a boy and a girl but Susan has been rather unlucky since the start of the series so anything could have happened, no? Plus switching a boy and a girl would explain why the nurse knew for sure the babies were switched.

I doubt it’s one of the older kids (Julie, Danielle, Andrew) since they’ve pretty much gone from the show. But what a twist would it be if Andrew and Sam got switched!!! The Scavos definitely look all alike so it’s less likely it’s one of them. Maybe Penny? It could be possible that one of the Solises kids got switched but the sisters look alike.

Who do you think was switched as a baby? For sure it must involved at least one of the show’s main kids, otherwise it wouldn’t be that powerful of a mystery!

‘Desperate Housewives’ scoop: Vanessa Williams moving to Wisteria Lane!

Vanessa-Williams

There goes the neighborhood! An ABC rep confirms that when Desperate Housewives returns next season, its cast will include — as a series regular, no less — Vanessa Freakin’ Williams!

Series creator Marc Cherry told us previously that he was looking for a new troublemaker to fill the void left by the demise of Nicollette Sheridan’s Edie. And seriously, could he — or anyone — do any better than the actress formerly known as Ugly Betty‘s queen of mean, Wilhelmina?

Didn’t think so.

Though other deets are at the moment scarce, TV Guide Magazine (which first broke the news) reports that her conniving character won’t be at the center of next season’s big mystery.

Exclusive: Kyle MacLachlan to exit ‘Desperate Housewives’

Kyle-MacLachlan

Image Credit: Danny Feld/ABCWisteria Lane is about to lose another longtime resident: Kyle MacLachlan is leaving Desperate Housewives after four years of playing Orson Hodge, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Exit rumors have swirled around the woefully underused MacLachlan for the better part of the past two years. Speculation picked up again after Sunday’s season finale, during which Orson — disappointed that Bree would allow herself to be blackmailed by Sam — abruptly moved out.

I’m told MacLachlan will likely return for an episode or two next fall to tie up the Orson/Bree story.

MacLachlan’s decampment brings to three the number of series regulars coming off the Housewives payroll. He joins the dearly departed Drea de Matteo and Dana Delany.

Thoughts? Is this something that should have happened two years ago when Orson started to drift onto the back burner? Will the return of Mark Moses and the recent addition of Vanessa Williams more than fill the void?

Question: Have we seen the last of Katherine on Desperate Housewives? Ausiello: For this season, yes. But if Dana Delany’s ABC pilot, Body of Evidence, fails to earn a pickup, she’ll most likely be back in the fall. “We’d love to have her back, but obviously for her sake, I hope her pilot goes,” says exec producer Bob Daily. “Marc [Cherry] has said that she has an open invitation to return next season if it doesn’t.”

Desperate Housewives – ABC Calls It Quits After 8 Seasons?

Could creator Marc Cherry be wearing thin on the “Desperate Housewives” drama? Maybe, ABC just realized that the storylines are being recycled? At any rate, Deadline.com reports that ABC is considering stepping back from its previous announcement of nine seasons to eight for the run of the show. According to the article, a couple issues are affecting ABC’s decision process:
* Cherry is already on a three-year deal with the network. If the show ends after Season 8, that would allow Cherry a year to do development on new projects. And the network really wants him to churn out another hit for them.
* The core divas Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria Parker and Marcia Cross, apparently have deals through next season. ABC Studios has reportedly approached them about extending that through a Season 9, but the women haven’t committed. Could they be considering other options?
Back in 2008, ABC announced that it had a deal in place to carry “Desperate Housewives” through Season 9, instead of Season 7 as Cherry had planned.
An ABC spokesperson declined Zap2it’s request for comment.
Do you think “Desperate Housewives” should end its run with Season 8?

‘Desperate Housewives’ exclusive: Drea de Matteo to make ‘explosive’ exit in May

Source: Michael Ausiello

Drea-de-MatteoImage Credit: Ron Tom/ABC A valuable piece of real estate is about to open up along America’s most popular cul-de-sac — and I’m not referring to Dana Delany’s possible departure: Drea de Matteo is leaving Desperate Housewives in May. Series creator Marc Cherry, however, insists tabloid talk that the Emmy-winning Sopranos vet was fired because she wasn’t clicking with the cast is not true. “When I heard that stuff, I was stunned,” confesses Cherry. “We adore her. She is the sweetest gal in the world.” The reality is, de Matteoaccording to Cherry. “Part of the deal when we hired Drea ’s stint on Housewives was never intended to go beyond this season, was she was only interested in doing one season, get back to her life in New York.”” he explains. “She has a baby and is eager to It’s fair to say de Matteo won’t be terribly missed by Housewives fans, many of whom never warmed to her icy character, fugitive matriarch Angie Bolen. But Cherry believes that has less to do with the actress and more to do with the nature of her story line. “We shielded parts of her character because of the mystery,” he says. “As we build toward the end and we start undoing the many layers of [Angie], everyone will get how brilliant she is.”Cherry declined to reveal how Angie will exit Wisteria Lane (body bag? plane ticket?). Instead, he teases that the arrival in April of Torchwood’s John Barrowman as the man she has been on the run from will build to “an explosive finale,” during which “all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed.”

Scoop: Dana Delany off ‘Desperate Housewives’?

Dana Delany is so well-regarded over at ABC that network prez Steve McPherson is inviting her to cheat on Desperate Housewives by starring in Body of Evidence, an Alphabet pilot that, if it’s picked up, would almost certainly take her away permanently from Wisteria Lane. Of course, that’s provided a deal can be made. As of now, Delany is still in talks to headline Evidence, a procedural that centers around a female medical examiner who used to work as a neurosurgeon. ABC declined to comment.

Desperate Housewives – Latest from TV Guide Magazine – 1st Feb 2010

Desperate Housewives offers a girl-girl liplock in March between cuckoo Katherine (Dana Delany) and Susan’s stripper friend, Robin, played by Dexter’s Julie Benz. “Everyone assumed I was going to come in and break up someone’s marriage, but there’s a whole different twist,” says Julie, who appreciates Dana smelling “very pretty” and not having facial hair like her last on-screen lover, Michael C. Hall.

“This kiss comes out of a funny moment where we’re trying to ditch some guys,” says Julie. But something very real develops, which is exciting for Dana. “I guessed it,” she says. “I asked, ‘Am I becoming a man?’ And [creator] Marc Cherry said, ‘Close.’” Dana compares Katherine’s realization to recently un-closeted actress Meredith Baxter. “For a woman in her fifties to make this announcement to her community is huge,” says Dana. “I hope it sticks.”

Julie and Dana became friends years ago when they costarred in a failed “Scarface”-type TV pilot. So how long will these naughty girls play house? “I’m now up to four episodes, but they have an option for more,” says Julie. “I’m bribing the writers with cupcakes.”

Angie’s mother appears again.

Desperate Housewives – Casting News from TV Guide Magazine

As Desperate Housewives prepares to wrap up the Angie Bolen murder mystery, and most likely
send Drea de Mateo packing after failing to click in the neighborhood, the ABC show is looking to cast Angie’s mother, described as a tough lady in her 50’s – 60’s who fights to protect her family.
Interestingly, the character’s name (for now) is Patty, which also happens to be the name of the actress the show had first hoped to cast for this role. Any idea whom I’m talking about?
Additionally, the show is searching for a hot little Russian number to play the role of Irena, a 25-year-old gold-digger who set her sights on one of the neighborhood boys. A Scavo twin perhaps? Or maybe the much sought-after Danny Bolen?
Not sure Patty would let Irena anywhere near her grandson.

As is often the case with ‘Desperate Housewives‘ and the introduction of a new family, my patience is being tried by the Bolens’ “big secret.” When will we find out what they are running from? Yeah, Papa Nick’s cryptic, could-be-interpreted-two-ways phone call to “Agent Padilla” – followed soon after by the waitress’ murder – jerked our chain a bit much. I asked Beau Mirchoff (aka Danny Bolen) when we can expect solid intel on the mystery clan. He said, “In the next few episodes, it will become more clear” why they are hiding out on Wisteria Lane – and it’s not necessarily for nefarious reasons. Before that reveal happens, Angie will attempt to relocate her brood, “but an event happens that puts our family in an awkward position,” says Mirchoff. Source: Fancast

Julie Benz is moving to Wisteria Lane in a recurring role. She will play Debbie, a stripper with a heart of gold and a Masters degree in education. When Susan offers her the chance to transition into a more legitimate career, she jumps at it. Benz is signed on for at least three episodes, the first of which is scheduled to air in February.

Is Dave Williams Returning to Wisteria Lane?: That Nicollette Sheridan may have departed Wisteria Lane, but her psycho hubby, Dave Williams – aka Hyannis homey Neal McDonough – may return to “Desperate Housewives.” McDonough, in town over the weekend for the NHL Legends Classic, was mum on the matter when we queried him at Fenway Park [map]. “I can’t say,” Neal said, those twinkling blue eyes telling a different story. Dave, as all “DH” fans recall, was dispatched to the booby hatch after he tried to kill Susan, aka Teri Hatcher, and her son M.J.Source : Boston Herald

Desperate Housewives – Official Season 6 Promo Shakira – She Wolf

6-1 “Nice is Different Than Good” Season premiere Sunday, September 27

  • Did Mike marry Katherine or Susan? You’ll learn the answer in the sixth season premiere! Both Susan and Katherine believe they’re going to be the bride, but this isn’t “Big Love”, so Mike will have to choose!
  • We meet Angie Bolen, (Drea de Matteo), her husband Nick (Jeffrey Nordling), and their nineteen year old son Danny (Beau Mirchoff). The Bolens have moved around a lot, but hope to settle down on Wisteria Lane now that real estate agent Lee has sold them a house there. And, yes, they have a secret.
  • Bree and Karl haven’t had sex yet, and Karl (Richard Burgi) suspects Bree’s not ready to take that step.
  • Lynette’s ambivalent about her pregnancy, and makes a happily pregnant woman cry by telling her about the perils of parenting.
  • Gaby’s niece Ana goes to a club.
  • We strongly suspect the episode ends with Julie being strangled.

6-2 “Being Alive” Sunday, October 4

  • We’ll meet a surly old man named Roy (Orson Bean). He’s a steak salesman, and Mrs. McCluskey’s love interest! Before he can tell McCluskey he loves her, they discover Julie’s unconscious body in the bushes. Mrs. McCluskey considers teling the police she saw Danny fighting with Julie.
  • At the hospital, Katherine stops the doctor from running a test with radiation on Julie by revealing that Julie may be pregnant. Susan didn’t know this info. When Julie briefly wakes, she sees or hears something that Angie (Drea de Matteo) wishes she hadn’t seen. She clearly hopes Julie will think she was dreaming, but the doctor doesn’t think that’s likely.
  • The police want to question Ana about Danny, and Gaby learns Ana snuck out to hang out with him at the park. Look for the police to question Danny as well.

6-3 Sunday, October 11

  • Jesse Metcalfe returns as Gabrielle’s former lover, John Rowland, who’s now divorced. Look for Ana to take an interest in seducing John. (Because no season of DH is complete without some statutory rape!) Carlos, Lynette, and Tom are at a restaurant together when Gabrielle arrives, possibly with John.
  • Danny was released from custody because there wasn’t enough evidence against him–but that doesn’t mean Susan’s about to let it go.
  • Bree reacts badly when Karl shows up with a date, but she can’t say anything, as she’s with Orson.

6-4 Sunday, October 18

  • Jesse Metcalfe makes another appearance as John.
  • Lynette learns Tom got a bad grade; Lynette leaves Penny with Tom at school.
  • Karl sends Bree a sexy text message; Look for our beloved caterers Bree and Katherine to cause a scene during a wedding they’re catering, as Katherine becomes emotional over a cake.

6-5

  • Gabrielle makes a possible enemy, which could be bad for Carlos as Carlos hopes to merge his company with the woman’s husband’s company. Carlos, Gaby, and the couple have dinner together.
  • Bree’s still cheating with Karl in a motel room. But will comments from the maid cause her to rethink the affair?

6-6

  • Lynette arrives home to find Tom with some of his (younger) fellow college students. Later, she goes to a frat party to find Tom. She doesn’t find him, but does learn Tom’s secret: he’s cheating in school!
  • Orson learns Bree lied about where a cameo pin came from. Will this lead him towards learning the truth about his wife’s affair?
  • When one of the Solis children swears at school, the principal wants the child pulled from the Thanksgiving pageant. Gabrielle is against this.

6-10

As Orson finally learns about Bree’s affair with Karl, the storyline climaxes with a major cliffhanger. (Traditionally, episode 10 is the last episode of the calendar year, so whatever the cliffhanger ends up being, don’t expect an answer til 2010.

Rumors

We’re aware of at least 4 rumors about actors from the UK who are said to be up for roles on DH. We’re not going to report them all. Frankly, if we had a dime for every British actor who’s been reported to be close to getting a role on this show, we’d be rich!

Marc Cherry was asked if he will release Neal McDonough’s Dave from the loony bin and he responded: “Not this season.” (Michael Ausiello)

“I don’t see Drea [de Matteo] as a replacement for Nicolette [Sheridan],” creator Marc Cherry says. “Her character is more a replacement for Neal [McDonough] in that she’s [the focus] of the new mystery.” Cherry goes on to describe Drea’s matriarch, Angie Bolen, as “a very loving but tough Italian woman who comes [to Wisteria Lane] with her husband and her kid. They’re running from something. We understand through her actions in the first couple of episodes that she’s a smart woman who will do what she has to to protect her family.” (Michael Ausiello)

Orson won’t catch on to his wife’s affair — at least not at first. “We’re going to play him just not understanding what’s going on,” explains creator Marc Cherry. “He finally gets wind of it and it’ll build to a shocking conclusion in our 10th episode. We’ve got an interesting cliffhanger involving the threesome.” (Michael Ausiello)

Marc Cherry worked out a “situation with Shawn Pyfrom that both grants the actor’s wish to pursue other projects and ensures that Andrew doesn’t vanish without a trace. It’s basically called being bumped to recurring. “He wanted more freedom [so] we [hammered out] a smaller episode order with him,” he says. “I don’t ever want to say goodbye to him completely. He’s a beloved figure around here.” (Michael Ausiello)

Desperate Housewives – Maiara Walsh Interview

Don’t expect any news in this interview:

Q: How did the role of Ana Solis come to you?

Maiara: “I got a call to audition for Desperate Housewives and I went in and I believe I had about 3 auditions. I was guaranteed an episode in the season finale and they had a month to decide whether to pick me up for a series regular — and they did. Needless to say, I was very, very excited.”

Q: Tell us about your character…

Maiara: “She is a bit of a wild child. She and Gaby butt heads and will continue to butt heads. She’s been bounced around from relative to relative. Her mom is in prison and she hasn’t seen her dad since she was 3, so she definitely has some issues. She’s decided that she is going to make things happen for herself and she’ll do whatever it takes to get what she wants. I think one of the reasons she and Gaby butt heads so much is because they’re so similar.”

Q: What can you tell us about season 6 of Desperate Housewives?

Maiara: “Ana is going to continue testing Gaby’s patience by acting up and misbehaving. In the first episode she has this really funny scene with Gaby in a club and she does something she’s never done before… I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s really funny. She’s a young girl who likes boys, so I think there will be some love mysteries and triangles.”

Q: Which cast members do you hang out with?

Maiara: “Right now, most of my scenes are with Eva. It’s been real nice getting to know her and bond with her. I think it’s important to have that connection with the people you work with or you’re going to show up for work miserable everyday. I got to know the Scavo twins when I was shooting the season finale and they were fun.”

Desperate Housewives: Who’s Under the Veil?

Source: E!Online

James Denton, Desperate Housewives ABC/RON TOM

The news of Andrea Bowen returning to Desperate Housewives for the season-six premiere is sparking debate that her homecoming means Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) is at the altar, behind the veil and getting married to Mike Delfino (James Denton). Spoiler Alert: We’re giving you every chance not to peek inside at the evidence we’ve compiled because all signs point to one Wisteria Lane resident over the others. Here are the five reasons to support who we think is under the veil… Without dissing Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair), we have a gut feeling that Susan is actually the blushing bride-to-be. The facts are these:

  1. Andrea Bowen is returning as Julie Mayer in a regular capacity this season. Mike always treated her like his own daughter while dating her mom, and she’d need to be back to be a bridesmaid in the wedding.
  2. Karl Mayer (Richard Burgi), Susan’s ex-husband, was at the wedding (keep your eyes peeled on the 40-second mark). He has no ties to Katherine and he despises Mike. If it isn’t Susan, why would he be there?
  3. The season finale script reads “The family is reunited” when Susan and Mike embraced after their near-death experience. Reunited and it feels so good, no?
  4. Because executive producer Marc Cherry wants them together. Regarding the Mike and Susan relationship, Cherry said back at the Paley Festival: “The idea is, we’ll get back there. I don’t know when. If ABC makes a deal with all of us, it looks like we have a few years to play this out, so I would imagine at some point in time Susan and Mike will find their way back in each other’s universe.” We think it’s about time, don’t you?
  5. Finally, we here at WWK simply want it to be Susan because we’re sick of the merry-go-round of keeping them apart.

BREAKING : She’s the Bride…?!

So when season 5 of Desperate Housewives ended, they were all attending Mike Delfino’s wedding to a mystery bride. So we were left to spend the summer wondering if it was ex-wife Susan Mayer or his fiancee Katherine Mayfair? Well one of my readers Sandy was taking one of those tours of Universal Studios, where the show tapes, and guess who she saw in a wedding dress? By the looks of the picture she took, I think we know who the new Mrs Delfino is… So if you want to know who she is, then… Looks like Dana Delany is a housewife once again. I mean she looks to be wearing the same dress that the woman was wearing when she married him, but the one difference is her hair down instead of up. Maybe production messed up on that one? So do you think she is the bride or there was second wedding and she is marrying someone else? Source: SeriouslyOMG

November Sweeps News : Mary Alice’s Appearance

Marc Cherry stated in an episode of the online series Ask Desperate Housewives that the November sweeps episode of season six will jump back in time to when Mary Alice was alive, and she will physically appear in the whole episode. This follows the pattern of Desperate Housewives having a very special episode during November sweeps, Such as season three’s “Bang”, season four’s “Something’s Coming”, and season five’s “City on Fire”. Obviously, those episodes involve a: hostage situation, tornado, and fire. The pattern will be broken by this episode.

General Spoilers

  • DH has added a new family to Wisteria Lane to play a role in the season’s new mystery. The matriarch of the family will be played by Drea de Matteo, while her landscape designer husband and tightly wound son will be played by Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff respectively. The family will be living in the house probably best known as Mary Alice’s former home; Mike lived there last season prior to moving in with Katherine.
  • Julie (Andrea Bowen) also returns as a series regular and will be involved with the mystery as well.
  • The show’s casting a college student who will be a recurring character throughout the season, but he may not have a huge presence in many episodes.
  • Shawn Pyfrom (Andrew) is not returning as a series regular, but expect him to make some guest appearances.
  • The woman Mike doesn’t marry has a breakdown. Last season, Teri Hatcher pitched the idea that she wanted Susan to have a nervous breakdown. It’s entirely possible that the writers took Teri’s idea and gave it to Katherine, but if we were placing a bet, we’d say Katherine’s marrying Mike and Susan’s having a breakdown.
  • Karl (Richard Burgi) will be back for many episodes as Bree’s romance with Karl continues. Bree turns to an old friend who’s been out of the picture.
  • Maiara Walsh will be a series regular as Gabrielle’s niece Ana. Look for her to complicate Gabrielle’s life. Jesse Metcalfe will appear in several episodes as John, though how many episodes he will be in remains uncertain at this time.
  • Although Mike marries someone, the Susan/Mike/Katherine triangle will continue.
  • Lynette’s unexpected pregnancy tests her family. Source: DH tripod

Jesse Metcalfe’s John can become a regular!

After two years away from Wisteria Lane, Jesse Metcalfe will be going back to his roots as Desperate Housewives‘ sexy gardener John Rowland. “He’ll be on for six to eight episodes, with the possibility of coming back full-time,” an insider on the ABC hit tells OK!. Story lines are still in development, but the source has some good news to confirm: “He’ll have a lot of shirtless scenes.”

Vitale’s moving to… The family will be living in the house probably best known as Mary Alice’s former home; Mike lived there last season prior to moving in with Katherine. Source: DH tripod

Kyle MacLachlan is returning next season. And he’ll remain a series regular. (Michael Ausiello)

Lynette’s pregnancy will be a central issue this season, a mole tells me, and it explains why Tom will probably not be playing Hacky Sack on the quad any time soon (was that just me?). Instead, the Scavos’ twist of fate will position him to be among the first of the show’s cast to interact with a colorful new family moving to Wisteria Lane. Imagine Adriana pronouncing the word “hardwood,” and you’re halfway there. (TV Guide)

Any hint as to who was under the veil on the season finale of Desperate Housewives? A source close to the Desperate Housewives set tells us neither Teri Hatcher nor Dana Delany were actually at the altar, just to make sure no one would be able to spill the season-five cliffhanger. However, the source did spill a juicy tidbit that may be a clue as to who the new happy couple is: Following the car accident in the season finale, where Susan and Mike (James Denton) embraced, the script read, “The family is reunited.” Could that point to Susan being under the veil? Discuss in the comments! Source: E!Online

Jesse Metcalfe to Return

Gabrielle’s gardener boy-toy from Desperate Housewives’ first season, John Rowland (Jesse Metcalfe), will be back on Wisteria Lane in the third and fourth episodes of Season 6. Last seen in 2007, John had married the daughter of a wealthy businessman. “Now he’s divorced and doing well in a different industry,” says creator Marc Cherry. Gaby’s husband, Carlos, will be none-too-pleased to learn that John is single again. But this time it’s not necessarily Gaby whom Carlos has to worry about, but his troublemaking niece, Ana (Maiara Walsh). Per Cherry, “When Ana finds out that Gabrielle had an affair with John, she sets her sights on him, which upsets Gabrielle.” Juicy! Source: TV Guide Magazine

TV Geometry: Complete the Desperate Housewives Love Triangle

The latest Desperate Housewives news has us in the mood for a threesome. The facts are these: Drea de Matteo’s character will have a 19-year-old son who we hear is a bit of a lady-killer. Maiara Walsh, who plays Gaby’s headstrong niece, has been promoted to be a series regular. ABC has announced that Andrea Bowen, Susan’s eye-rolling daughter, Julie, will return to the show for the Season 6 premiere. (TVGuide.com has confirmed that her stay on Wisteria Lane will be significantly longer.) Isn’t it time we got these crazy kids together? So let’s cast the Italian Stallion already, shall we?….read more

Andrea Bowen has signed on to reprise her role as Susan’s daughter, Julie. Bowen is set to appear in the September 27 season premiere. Insiders say that she is returning as a series regular. Bowen was last seen in the November 16 episode, in which Julie visited her mom (Teri Hatcher), bringing along her much older boyfriend Lloyd (Steven Weber). Julie’s father, Karl (Richard Burgi), may be featured prominently on the series this coming season as well. (Michael Ausiello)

‘Housewives’ scoop: Julie’s coming home

Source: The Ausiello Files

Andrea-Bowen_l Wisteria Lane is welcoming back one of its own this fall: Original Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen has signed on to reprise her role as Susan’s eldest spawn, Julie. Although ABC would only confirm that Bowen is set to appear in the Sept. 27 season premiere, a Housewives insider tells me that the actress is returning as a series regular. Bowen vanished from Housewives at the end of season 4, a casualty of the show’s four-year flash forward. She briefly returned last season when Julie, on break from college, announced that she was dating her 40-year-old professor Lloyd (Steven Weber). It’s not clear if he’ll be accompanying her back home, but I’m guessing not.

Casting News

Wisteria Lane’s newest resident, Drea DeMatteo, has found her family. Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff have joined the cast of ABC’s dramedy “Desperate Housewives” as regulars next season. Nordling will be playing a New York landscape designer who moves to Wisteria Lane with his wife (DeMatteo) and their tightly wound, sexy and intense son (Mirchoff). Heading into its sixth season, “Desperate” has been beefing up the cast with new faces, including new regulars DeMatteo, Nordling, Mirchoff and Maiara Walsh and returning Andrea Bowen. APA-repped Nordling most recently co-starred in the seventh season of Fox’s hit drama “24.” He also co-starred on FX’s “Dirt” opposite Courteney Cox. Mirchoff, repped by APA and managed by Vital Management Group, starred in Sony’s “The Grudge 3” last year.

Drea de Matteo joins Desperate Housewives

Afraid Desperate Housewives would lose its edge without Nicolette Sheridan’s Edie around? You can fuhgettaboutit. Emmy-winning Sopranos heroine Drea de Matteo is joining the cast as Wisteria Lane’s newest vixenish housewife, sources confirm. De Matteo, who will be a series regular, will play the matriarch of a new Italian family. Casting is underway for her landscape designer husband and their tightly wound son.

Desperate Housewives scoop please! Looks like Bree (Marcia Cross) isn’t giving up on her adulterous ways. Kyle MacLachlan says of the sixth season: “They’ve brought back Richard Burgi and he’s going to come between us a little bit. They have some things coming up. They haven’t told me exactly what’s going to happen, but there are going to be some sparks.” Source: Kristin on E!Online

Please give me some scoop on what’s next for Desperate Housewives‘ Bree. MICKEY: Bree may come off like a brittle maneater, but at heart she’s a real softy, which is why juggling an angry Orson and a horny Karl will really wear on her this fall. Who will she turn to in this time of need? An old friend who you might have thought was out of the picture. Source: TV Guide Online

Please tell us the rumors aren’t true, and that Desperate Housewives isn’t going with a melodramatic miscarriage storyline for Lynette. MICKEY: Egads, this is morbid, Steph, but let’s retrace our steps: Marc Cherry has said that he thinks a mother losing a child would be rich territory for the show to cover. From the season finale — and just about every other episode of the series — we can deduce that Lynette clearly does not like being pregnant. But what if she suddenly does… and then she isn’t? These are good questions to ask. Methinks you might be on to something. Source: TV Guide Online

  • Julie (Andrea Bowen) will be back. Karl (Richard Burgi) will be back for many episodes as Bree’s romance with Karl continues.
  • Maiara Walsh will be a series regular as Gabrielle’s niece Ana. Look for her to complicate Gabrielle’s life.
  • Although Mike marries someone, the Susan/Mike/Katherine triangle will continue.
  • Lynette’s unexpected pregnancy tests her family.

ABC Upfront

After jumping five years ahead into the lives of the women of Wisteria Lane, critically acclaimed series “Desperate Housewives” returns for its sixth season on ABC. Susan (Teri Hatcher) and Mike (James Denton) are brought together by their worst fears; Lynette’s (Felicity Huffman) unexpected pregnancy tests her family; as Bree’s (Marcia Cross) marriage dissolves, she finds herself in the arms of another man; Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) is in for a surprise when she and Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) welcome their niece into their home; and Katherine (Dana Delany) struggles over the thought of losing Mike.

Spinoff is a Go

THE “Desperate House wives” spinoff starring Lily Tomlin and Kathryn Joosten may be the hottest show that ABC won’t announce at its upfront presentation this week. News of the proposed series prompted a terrific response from the public that has overwhelmed the actresses. Sources report that Joosten received so many supportive emails at her personal Web site that the site was shut down. “Desperate” co-star Neal McDonough, in an appearance on “The View” last Thursday, asked the studio audience if they would be interested in seeing the spinoff. When they all raised their hands, it was clear to producers of the project that it had a built-in audience, which may put the series on the fast-track. “Housewives” creator Marc Cherry is expected to move forward with the project in June after he meets with his staff writers and squares away the sixth season of his Sunday night hit. In the spinoff, which is not yet titled, Tomlin and Joosten are expected to reprise their roles as Roberta and Karen McCluskey. But they won’t be living on Wisteria Lane. They will play modern-day Snoop Sisters who investigate lightweight crimes in a place that has the same unreal suburban feel of the Cherry series. “Cherry loves the idea of a mystery series,” said a source close to the project. There are no plans yet to have any of the other characters from “Desperate Housewives” drop in on an episode of the spinoff, but the cross-pollination between ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” drew such strong ratings this spring, that it seems like a programming no-brainer. Desperate Housewives Season Finale Recap: Who did Mike Marry? Susan or Katherine?

James Denton, Desperate Housewives ABC/RON TOM

What’s the deal with the season finale of Desperate Housewives? Does Mike marry Susan or Katherine? It’s driving me crazy! Please fill me in on anything you know.
Here’s what we do know, back at the Paley Fest, executive producer Marc Cherry talked about the possibility of Mike (James Denton) and Susan (Teri Hatcher) getting back together, “The idea is, we’ll get back there. I don’t know when. If ABC makes a deal with all of us, it looks like we have a few years to play this out, so I would imagine at some point in time Susan and Mike will find their way back in each other’s universe.” Do you think he’s reunited the original Housewives couple, or is he dragging it another few seasons, giving Mike and Katherine (Dana Delany) marital bliss? We want you to hit the comments with who you think was behind the veil or at least who you hope it was. Source: Kristin on E!Online

In the last moments of the Desperate Housewives‘ season 5 finale:

Dave tied Susan to a post, and intended to have her watch as Mike and his car would collide with MJ in Dave’s back seat. Dave however, had a change of heart when he looked back at MJ in the back seat and saw his daughter.

Susan freed herself and waved down Mike, who still collided with Dave’s car. However, Dave felt guilty enough to let MJ out. He remembered back to the night his wife and daughter were killed, they were all supposed to go out for ice cream, but Dave had brought home work and told then to go without him. Then Dave imagined he told them to stay home instead and he would make smors. Dave blamed himself ultimately for the accident.

Mike kissed Susan after he saw both Susan and MJ were safe.

Fast foward: Two months later a church wedding, Mike was getting married but, who was his bride, Susan or Katherine? We will have to wait until the Season 6 premiere in the Fall to find out!

Dave makes a videotape about why he has to kill MJ Delfino (to make Susan suffer). He’s crying and it’s all-around creepsville. Susan agrees to bring MJ on a fishing trip with him and before they leave, Dave gives Mike his creepy psycho killer videotape. We then flash back to the day of Dave’s family’s accident, when he insisted his wife and daughter go for ice cream. They never came home. Ouch. It shows the accident, where a stop sign was knocked down and Susan ran it, albeit unknowingly.

On the fishing trip, Mike (having seen the videotape) calls Susan, tips her off and calls the cops. Susan tries to stall but Dave refuses to pull over, so she hands MJ a juice box. Heh heh. Dave pulls over into a totally creepy wooded area, but the detectives call Dave and ask him to turn himself in. While he’s distracted, Susan clubs him over the head and she and MJ run into the woods. Susan goes all Slasher Movie on us and sprains her ankle, then sends MJ running into the woods to hide, telling him it’s a game and that it’s really important that he wins. It’s just heartbreaking. Dave pulls a gun on her, demanding that she call him and Susan yells, “MJ… DON’T COME OUT!” Dave clubs her with the gun and takes off after MJ. It’s really nice work by Teri Hatcher.

Dave stalks MJ through a conveniently-placed cemetary and finally brings him back to a groggy Susan. Back in the car, Dave holds Susan at gunpoint as MJ listens to music in the backseat. Susan tries to talk Dave down, apologizing for the accident. Mike calls, tells Dave he’s on Rte 12 and Dave tells him to meet them at an abandoned gas station near the site of the accident.

Dave ties Susan to a post and is going to make her watch as Mike plows into Dave and MJ. Dave gets back in the car and unbuckles MJ. It’s one of the creepiest things ever. Suddenly, he hallucinates his daughter in the backseat. Susan wiggles free in time to flag Mike down, but he plows into Dave’s car anyway. Fortunately, Dave had gotten MJ out first. The family hugs, Mike kisses Susan and the waterworks are happening at the Reiher house. Dave awakens in the car and flashes back to the night his family died, only this time he tells them not to go for ice cream and that work can wait, so they stay with him instead of going out to be killed in the accident. Aw man. Sniffle.

Dave is locked away in a mental hospital.

Biddy’s Business
Claire the secretary calls Roberta and Karen about Dr. Heller being dead, so they’re on the case! That’s our girls. They break into Dave’s house while he’s on the fishing trip (using the key Edie gave Karen), but the police arrive while they’re searching the house. They help put it together that Mike and Susan killed Dave’s family.

Lynette’s Litter
Preston wants to go to Europe instead of college, so Lynette makes Tom take Preston on a campus visit. Preston still wants Europe, Tom is ready to sign up. To major in Chinese. Guh! I am SO sick of Tom’s midlife crisis crap. Gabby advises her to go all Lysistrata on his ass, but Bree says she can be more cunning than that.

Lynette overhears a message that Tom’s admissions test has been moved and she conveniently doesn’t tell him, instead taking him out to dinner (and drinking). That’s our Lynette. Tom finally hears the message at 2:00 am when he’s drunk on tequila and he’s half-drunk when he actually takes the test. It then turns out Tom wants to major in Chinese because it would help him in the marketplace and allow him to reinvent himself. Lynette realizes what she’s done, just as Tom apologizes for letting her down. That’s right! Twist that knife a little deeper, Tom.

However, Tom passes with flying colors and everyone is happy… except Porter, who is attending the same school. Snerk. Lynette can’t quite be happy for him, though, because she is feeling rundown and thinks her cancer might be coming back. I bet she’s pregnant!

And I am RIGHT! Lynette tells Tom and they have an “we’re old!” freak out. Especially once Lynette tells him it’s twins. Heh heh.

Gabby’s Gathering
Gabby and Carlos take the girls to a BBQ at Carlos’s Aunt Connie’s house. Aunt Connie hasn’t been doing so well financially, so Gabby wears lots of expensive jewelry just to screw with her. That’s our Gabby. After lunch, Aunt Connie announces that she’s dying and can no longer take care of her granddaughter Anna. Carlos guilts Gabby into it because Aunt Connie took care of him.

It turns out Aunt Connie isn’t dying and that Anna is, well, a hottie and uses her hotness to get guys to do and buy stuff for her (including the Scavo boys). She’s also a bit of a bitch, manipulating Carlos against Gabby.

Bree’s Breaking n Entering
Bree comes home to find all her stuff back in her house. Orson wants to know why and Bree finally tells him she wants a divorce. She says he can have whatever he wants because she’s tired of sneaking around. Orson wants to talk about it, but Bree says all she wants is out. That’s our Bree. Ouch. Also, who is that old man and what has he done with Kyle MacLachlan. Oh, Agent Cooper! You’re so old!

Orson gets his, though, when he blackmails Bree into staying. Either she stays or he turns her into the police for her insurance fraud. Bree turns to Karl for help, who sics a thug on Orson. At home, Bree assures him that she would never do that and Orson goes a little nutty when he apologizes for suspecting her, says he’ll stay and is excited that Bree can mend his shirt.

Bree confronts Karl and it devolves into a big ol’ smooch. I like the chemistry with these two, so I’m okay with that. Also, Karl looks good for a guy who took a head spade to the face last Saturday.

Katherine’s Crazypants
Katherine spends all episode getting nuttier and nuttier regarding Susan and Mike. Before Katherine and Mike leave for Las Vegas, she hears some church bells and fondles her garter. That’s our Katherine?

Two Months Later
Gabby is still keeping tabs on Anna, Lynette is having morning sickness, Bree is still with Orson but is making eyes at Karl and Mike is getting married. But we don’t see the bride!

Best Line
Doctor: You’re pregnant. About six weeks or so.
Lynette: …are you sure it’s not cancer

Oooh, the bride better be Susan. I mean, why would Karl be there if it wasn’t? What did you guys think? Good season finale?

Desperate Housewives Episode Recap 5.22 “Marry Me A Little”

‘Desperate Housewives’: Underneath the mask

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

Desperate Housewives” is gearing up for next week’s big finale, so tonight featured far more setup than payoff. Luckily, it also featured a number of amusing one-liners. And a number of valuable lessons about the dangers of plastic surgery, robbing yourself, overspending, and having a private conversation while an evil mastermind is listening in on the phone. I hope you all were taking notes!

Susan and Jackson take Dave on a rollercoaster ride of emotion. They’re getting married! Jackson totally knows Dave was backstage at the club that night! But he’s an illegal immigrant and easily taken care of! While I’m sorry Jackson got deported, I have no faith that Katherine really planned to follow through on that alimony “Mike” promised after she and Mike got married, so…this is definitely for the best as far as Susan is concerned. You know, aside from Dave still being on the loose and targeting her son. And aside from her ex-husband still being on track to marry her friend.

Bree, in the meantime, is seriously Up to No Good. She must reeeeeally want to keep her money, because trashing her own house must be the worst kind of torture for Bree (though hilarious to watch). At first, when Orson got all sentimental and sweet on her, I thought he knew what Bree was up to and it was calculated to make her have second thoughts. But his surprise and disappointment at finding the storage unit with all the “stolen” loot seemed genuine. I’m also going to point out that if it’s a mask that’s easily re-ordered and paid for, than it probably wasn’t worth “stealing” in the first place. And can we take a second to talk Bree and Karl? Because they’re totally going to hook up, right? (And yeah, EW.)

Oh, Gaby. Gaby, Gaby, Gaby. I mean, okay, her friend’s tragic tale from Tiffany flatware to soup kitchen meals was a bit more nuanced than I thought, but still. Someone needs to sit our friend down and make her watch the MC Hammer episode of “Behind the Music,” because it shouldn’t be news to Gaby that money is a finite resource. Luckily, I guess, it doesn’t sounds like both kids are college material. (“Bobblehead”? Mean, but it totally cracked me up.)

Tom’s midlife crisis is, at this point, grounds for divorce solely based on annoyingness. I mean, his family was bordering on financial collapse just a few episodes ago, and he’s considering plastic surgery as a way of youthening his way back into the workforce? Maybe you should just spend five minutes on the internet, buddy – it’s not like Twitter is a state secret. The plastic surgery victim Lynette introduces Tom to will probably feature in my nightmares tonight – he looked like the love child of Joan Rivers and an alien. Terrifying.

Favorite quotes:

  • Tom to his college friend, guessing how he looks so young: “Diet? Exercise? Eating a bowl of stem cells every morning?”
  • After Susan threatens to call off the fake marriage. Jackson: “They’ll send me back!” Susan: “It’s Canada, not Iran!”
  • As they enter their ransacked house. Bree: “Orson, we’ve been robbed!” Orson: “It wasn’t me. I swear.”

Desperate Housewives Season Finale Spoilers: Will Dave Really Kill MJ for Revenge? 5.23 and 5.24 ‘Everybody Says Don’t / If It’s Only in Your Head’

Episodes 5.23 and 5.24: Everybody Says Don’t / If It’s Only in Your Head (Season finale)
Airdate: May 17, 2009 from 9 to 11 p.m.

Hour 1 written by John Pardee and Joey Murphy; directed by Bethany Rooney; Hour 2 written by Jeffrey Richman; directed by David Grossman

The previous four finales have featured eight deaths, four characters held at gunpoint, three weddings, three new kids, two women arrested, two affairs revealed, the beginning of an affair, an engagement, an almost-engagement, a kidnapping, a fake suicide, a fake pregnancy, a hit and run, over a hundred thousand in stolen drug money, and a woman attacked with a hockey stick.

Gaby’s niece Ana (Maiara Walsh) moves in with her.

Orson threatens to blackmail Bree over the robbery she committed. A menacing thug threatens Orson to stay away from Bree. Bree can’t comprehend the beating Orson receives. Richard Burgi guest stars as Karl.

Lynette’s upset with Tom’s idea that he go back to school, but she eventually adapts. Is Lynette’s cancer back? Nope, she’s pregnant!

Susan accepts Dave’s “friendly” gesture. Gale Harold continues to appear as Jackson. Lily Tomlin appears as Roberta. Dave’s finally ready to have his revenge, and both Susan and MJ are in danger. Before Mike and Katherine can elope, he’s called away to deal with an emergency. The mystery comes to an end.

Reportedly, the show has dropped the plan to have a character from the first two seasons return in the show’s final five minutes. Instead, the season will, however, end with a jaw-dropping twist that Marc Cherry came up with at the last minute.

Near the end of the show, DH will take a small step into the future; nowhere near as much as five years, but perhaps more like the six months between the end of season 2 and the start of season 3, or even the one month jump near the beginning of season 4. In the final minutes, a couple will marry.

Question: Please tell me that Dave doesn’t kill MJ on Desperate Housewives. I don’t know if I could handle that. Ausiello: I can confirm that the finale includes a cemetery scene. And I can also confirm that MJ is in it. Source: The Ausiello Files

Question: It would make my day extra Smurfy if you could tell me who’s coming back to Desperate Housewives, and if he/she will be back next season. Ausiello: No one is coming back. That idea, first teased by Marc Cherry last month at PaleyFest ’09, has been scrapped. Source: The Ausiello Files

Please clue us in on the Desperate Housewives finale! Will Lynette be adding to her clan? MICKEY: Read this and see if you still think that Marc Cherry would knock up the pregnancy-prone (and -averse) Lynette a fourth time. During that pregnant pause, I’ll tell you that a character from Seasons 1 and 2 will show up in the last scene of the finale, and I’m hearing that he/she will be presented in a very different light — that is, probably fully clothed. Source: TV Guide Online

Seems a major character from the series’ first two seasons will return in the last five minutes of next month’s finale for a huge surprise. “DH” creator Marc Cherry wouldn’t say who, but when the panel moderator brought “Gaby’s gardener boy John” up, Cherry smirked and said, “Well I think we’re done here.” Does this mean Jesse Metcalfe is coming back to Fairview? Or was Mr. Cherry just throwing us off the trail of the returning character’s real identity? An insider tells me to expect Metcalfe back. Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Kyle MacLachlan teases, “I think Orson is much more dangerous than Dave. I’m sorry, I like Neal [McDonough] very much, but in terms of danger quotient, Orson can do things with a gas mask, watch out!” Sounds like a mystery for next season, especially since Orson is to blame for Edie’s death. “As far as the scripts go, now they haven’t really addressed it, but I have a feeling it’s going to come back to haunt me,” adds Kyle. Gabrielle’s niece, Ana’s first episode will be the season finale, but she’ll be back for an arc in the fall. (TV Guide)

‘Housewives’ wedding mystery: Who’s getting hitched?

Desperatehousewives_lIt may not be a game-changer along the lines of last year’s five-year time jump, but this should still get the kids talking: Desperate Housewives will conclude its season on May 17 with a surprise wedding, sources confirm to me exclusively. The nuptials are so top secret that even members of the show’s cast and crew don’t know who’s walking down the aisle. “People are being told on a need-to-know basis,” whispers a Housewives insider. “Marc [Cherry] doesn’t want a repeat of last year when the flash-forward thing leaked.” His hard-line approach seems to be working: I don’t have the foggiest idea who’s getting hitched.

‘Desperate Housewives’ finale: Is Dave Williams gonna die?

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

The two hour finale of “Desperate Housewives” airs this Sunday and there are more than a few things going down. Tom Scavo’s constant mid-life crisis will continue. The latest? The poor guy thinks he’s going back to school… to major in Chinese.

But, more importantly, the season ender is the perfect opportunity to get some resolution on the Dave Williams story. Is Neal McDonough, who plays Dave, getting killed off? His character, though not completely unlikeable, is a total loon, so he has to go at some point, right? The writers have led us to believe that he’s currently contemplating the murder of little M.J. Delfino. And, come on, we can’t keep an attempted kid killer on Wisteria Lane indefinitely. Also, Neal McDonough was gabbing with Barbara and the girls on “The View” this morning and when Joy said, “When they hired you, weren’t you supposed to die?,” McDonough responded with, “No, I’m the mystery for the year so I wasn’t supposed to die ’til the very last episode.” Uh, yeah, that’s this Sunday. So, I’m thinking either “DH” creator Marc Cherry had a change of heart and decided to veer off course, maybe getting Dave Williams a little mental help, so he can stick around.. OR Edie’s creepy husband will wave goodbye to Wisteria this weekend. Predictions?

Season 6 spoilers

ABC has picked up the show for a sixth season.

Julie (Andrea Bowen) will be back. Karl (Richard Burgi) will be back for many episodes.

Maiara Walsh continues to be a series regular as Gabrielle’s niece Ana.

Katherine becomes insecure as Mike pulls away from her.

While DH creator Marc Cherry had hoped to bring back a character in the final minutes of season 5, that’s not happening, but he’d like to bring back the character midway through next season.

I’m really worried about Susan after last night’s episode of Desperate Housewives. Dave is out for blood. What’s the scoop? Never fear, Teri Hatcher doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. “I intend on having a job on Desperate Housewives next year, but it’s definitely [a] dramatic [finale],” she tells us. As we teased before, Susan’s not the only one in trouble on Wisteria Lane, so the real question you should be asking is, How far does Dave cross the line. Source: Kristin on E!Online

Any word on if they’re going to replace Edie on Desperate Housewives next season?
While that does seem to be a common occurrence on our favorite fictional street, Teri Hatcher wants to make sure fans know that Nicollette Sheridan‘s Edie cannot be replaced. “I don’t think you can go at it like ‘replacing her.’ It will open up an arena for new, imaginative things to happen.” But Brenda Strong teased, “I think Wisteria Lane will definitely be shy of an Edie. I don’t think anything is written in stone, but there’s room for a new neighbor.” Thoughts on who should move in this time around? Source: Kristin on E!Online

Desperate Houswives Episode Recap: 5.21 ‘Bargaining’

‘Desperate Housewives’: Jackson’s back, and he’s got a small favor to ask

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

On Desperate Housewives, it seems food and sex are legal tender. Food, sex, and slumber party invitations. Though the substance of the episode was largely forgettable, there were several laugh out loud (and “ew “out loud) moments, and the Dave plot is still thankfully lumbering toward its conclusion.

Lynette and Tom, it seems, have made a pact to do it every day for a month. You know, for the sake of their marriage. Bottom line, Tom is feeling a little unfulfilled with no job and no crazy dream to focus on, be it a vintage car, a pizza place, or a band. Might I suggest a private investigation business? You’d make a mint on Wisteria Lane…

Bree doesn’t want to share her business with Orson in the divorce, so she tries to hire the sharkiest divorce lawyer in town: Karl. Before he’ll take her on as a client, Karl asks Bree to get his son Evan into MJ’s sleepover – his feelings are hurt at being left out, but MJ doesn’t want him there because he’s a bully. MJ: “He hit me with a dead squirrel.” Bree: “Now MJ, we can find faults with all our friends if we nitpick.” Ha! Once Karl takes her on, Bree agrees to lie, cheat, and steal her way to a beneficial settlement. And then goes home and agrees to sex Orson up in exchange for breakfast in the morning. This episode made me feel dirty, you guys.

In a plot that was a bit too Full House for my liking, Juanita tries to copy Gaby’s model days by wearing makeup, so Carlos makes Gaby attend a fancy dinner barefaced to show that beauty is on the inside. (Or rather, “barefaced,” because no one looks that good without any makeup on, right? …Right???) Cue Gaby telling everyone, “I’m not ill, I’m just not wearing any makeup,” and then stealing a lady’s makeup in the bathroom in order to pose for a photo. She and Juanita have a lovely chat afterwards about self-esteem and being a grownup and yawn…since when does Gaby channel Danny Tanner?

Jackson is back, and he wants Susan to marry him. Susan freaks out and cries, telling him how much she’s missed him and how she still loves him. And yup, it totally IS for a visa, because Jackson IS Canadian. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. (Note: I laughed anyway.) After later claiming that she was just feeling lonely, Susan agrees to help. No love, no sex, just marriage. Ha. Jackson: “No sex?” Susan: “You want people to think this is a real marriage, don’t you?” And this is gonna be bitter for Katherine, since after a little pressure Mike admitted that he doesn’t see himself getting married again.

Dave offers to take MJ and Susan fishing at some child-killing lake. Before they can go, the cops track Dave down with questions about Dr. Heller, whom they’ve finally identified as the fire’s victim. They mention that they’re looking for Jackson as an additional witness. And Susan has to cancel the fishing trip because she’s getting married…to Jackson. Hmm. I don’t see this ending well for our Canadian friend.

Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: “Rose’s Turn”

Hey, Mary Alice! What’s Sunday’s episode of Desperate Housewives about? “Everyone has something they want to keep hidden,” she says. Orson is hiding his role in Edie’s death. Lynette and Tom are hiding their respective perceptions of infidelity. And Dave is still hiding his true intentions when it comes to Mike, Katherine, Susan and now… M.J.? Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: 5.19: Look Into Their Eyes and You See What They Know

Previously on “Desperate Housewives,” Edie ran into a utility pole and was electrocuted in a puddle of water. She had just found out about Psycho Dave and she crashed swerving to avoid Orson, who was running across the street after one of his breaking & enterings.

Why ‘Desperate Housewives’ killed Nicollette Sheridan off…

Source:Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Wisteria Lane bid Nicollette Sheridan farewell last night and this weekend, when “Desperate Housewives” was honored by The Paley Festival, we were given the official reasoning behind her character’s death, thanks to an audience member who asked, “Edie. Why? Why? Why? Whyyy?!” Did Sheridan want out? Not according to “DH” creator Marc Cherry. With the goal of keeping viewers engaged, Cherry said he’d planned to kill off a main character in the fifth season for quite some time, he just didn’t know whom it would be until recently. “Creatively, the writers and I were starting to run out of ideas [for Edie],” he admitted. And that’s when they realized she’d be the one to go.

For those hoping the dearly departed character might suddenly come back to life — or that the surprise return in the season finale could be any one of “DH”‘s deceased — prepare for disappointment. During the panel, Cherry said that as long as he can use flashbacks to bring his dead characters back onscreen and flesh out their storylines/unanswered questions that way, he has no plans to rouse anyone from their dirt nap. “When I kill them, I like them to stay dead,” he shared, adding that he’s afraid of making his show too much like the daytime soaps. Besides, sources close to Sheridan say her dismissal stung. She always felt she was treated like a fifth wheel on the series, telling friends that Edie was undervalued by the show’s producers.

Funny enough, Edie’s best friend — and “DH”‘s other “fifth housewife” — Karen McCluskey, played by Emmy winner Kathryn Joosten, is in a completely different situation as the only Wisteria woman who has a guarantee of staying alive. Cherry told Paley attendees that he and Joosten were chatting a few years ago about her experience on “The West Wing” and when she mentioned how unhappy she was that Aaron Sorkin offed her character, Cherry found himself promising he would never kill her off “DH.” He realized as soon as he made the promise that he probably shouldn’t go around giving that guarantee to anyone else. Joosten did note that just because Karen isn’t getting killed off, that doesn’t mean Marc can’t move her out of the neighborhood one day. Not to worry though, it seems as though McCluskey will be sticking around for a while… she’s got a love interest coming her way.

And on the subject of Wisteria Lane love lives, for fans hoping for a Mike and Susan reunion — apparently you people exist? — there is good news and bad. The good news is that fans at Paley were on your side — the audience clapped when a question was asked about the M/S relationship and Teri Hatcher clapped along with the crowd while Dana Delany mock pouted over the thought of her character’s boyfriend with another woman — and Marc admitted Mike and Susan’s relationship will be revisited. The bad news is that it might take a while to get there. “Happiness is lovely, but it’s the death of drama,” said Cherry. “We’ll get back [to Mike and Susan], but we don’t know when.” Because the show will be sticking around for at least a few more years, the writers have time to prolong the will-they-won’t-they thing. Besides, as you may have already heard, Susan will be receiving a marriage proposal from Gale Harold’s Jackson when he returns to “DH” next month and Mike will be engaged to Delany’s character, Katherine Mayfair, pretty soon too.

Speaking of Gale Harold, Marc mentioned that he’s recovered from last year’s motorcycle accident and that he actually looks better now than when we last saw him. I can vouch for that, as I visited Wisteria Lane this week and got some one-on-one time with the guy. His return will obviously impact Susan, but it’ll also throw a wrench into Dave (Neal McDonough)’s diabolical plans. Remember, Jackson witnessed Dave coming out of that storage room, where he killed his shrink, just before Fairview’s big fire…

So there’s definitely more big drama to come on that front, however Neal doesn’t believe Dave really wants the revenge he’s been seeking this season. He noted that one part of his character — the guy who existed before his wife and kid were lost — really likes the people on Wisteria Lane, thinks of Mike as his best friend and wants to be a part of that life. But the man who emerged from him once his family was destroyed will only be satisfied when Mike pays for his role in their death. Said Neal, “I guarantee you will not be let down by the end of the season.”

Marc told the audience, as I mentioned above, that a character from the first two years of the show will return in the last five minutes of the finale, and that this return will shock the audience. He also said the actors on the panel hadn’t been told about the return yet… which I now realize means that, though Jesse Metcalfe’s John Rowland will be coming back to Wisteria Lane, he isn’t the familiar old face we’re being teased about, as he’s already filmed scenes.

New Desperate Housewives Spoilers: Season Finale Scoop!

Desperate Housewives (May 17, ABC)
Flashing forward, backward and sideways is so yesterday, so Housewives will have to stoop to tried-and-true plot twists to wow the Wisteria Lane faithful. Right? Wrong. Using words such as “killer” and “fantastic” to sum up the two-hour finale, Neal McDonough (who plays Edie’s murderous hubby, Dave) told us, “What [series creator] Marc Cherry has come up with is amazing. The fans are going to love it.” But will a certain Housewife love the surprising news her doctor has for her? Source: TV Guide Online

It may not be a game-changer along the lines of last year’s five-year time jump, but this should still get the kids talking: Desperate Housewives will conclude its season on May 17 with a surprise wedding, sources confirm to me exclusively.

I hope Dave dies on Desperate Housewives; he’s too dangerous for Wisteria Lane!
Oh you think Dave is dangerous? Well, if he does kick the bucket, there’s someone else the residents of Wisteria Lane should be watching out for. Question: Please give some good Desperate Housewives scoops! Is it true that Bree is going to have an affair with Karl?
Ausiello:
Can’t confirm an affair. Can confirm a kiss.

Question: Are Mike and Susan ever going to get back together on Desperate Housewives? I’m really thinking of tanking the show next year if not. Give us some good news, please!
Ausiello:
James Denton and Teri Hatcher told us at PaleyFest ’09 that it’s “inevitable” the two will reunite, but neither had specifics on when. “It’s always been Marc Cherry’s plan to have them together by the end of the show,” said Hatcher. “But I think the road getting there is getting bumpier and bumpier.” Added Denton: “I think there will definitely be at least another near miss for them, but for the rest of the season and the near future, it is Mike and Katherine. They are getting pretty secure. We are already living together. And I think there may be some engagement news on the horizon.”
Source: EW

Is Dave going after Susan now on Desperate Housewives?
As far as the fate of Susan, Teri Hatcher tells us she expects to have a job next year, but, “You should be worried. It’s an ending with lots of peril, but it’s not just Susan who’s involved.” Plus, James Denton says, “[What Dave does is] really creepy. It’s more creepy than going after Susan. It’s actually a little scarier than that.” What could be scarier than harming Susan Mayer? Well when we asked Neal McDonough if there would be kidnapping involved he replied, “Certainly. Without question.” With rumors speculating that Katherine (Dana Delaney) may be pregnant, it seems likely that Dave tries to steal Mike’s family in retribution for what Mike did to Dave’s family. Source: Kristin on E!Online

Amanda in Miami: Is Dave going to live through the finale of Desperate Housewives? James Denton certainly doesn’t think so, “I don’t see how he can. What he does is so wrong. I’m afraid we’re going to lose another great actor because I don’t know how we can keep him around. He’s too evil. What he does is pretty despicable.” Will you miss Dave on Wisteria Lane, or are you happy that the psycho’s going down? Source: Kristin on E!Online

Question: Got any scoop on Desperate Housewives‘ season finale?
Ausiello:
Lily Tomlin returns to help her sis, Mrs. McCluskey, solve the Crazy Dave mystery once and for all. They better hurry up, ’cause I hear Edie’s widower is going to take Susan on an impromptu fishing trip. Because if it’s one thing we’ve learned over the past five seasons it’s that Susan loves to fish. Source: The Ausiello Files

Major character that’s back

Kristin says:
Marc Cherry says a major character from the first 2 seasons is back in the last 5 minutes of the finale and you’ll be shocked!

Source: E!Online

Korbi says:
Neighborhood gossip, you guys…

A little Wisteria Lane scoop, coming to you straight from The Paley Festival where “Desperate Housewives” was just honored: Seems a major character from the series’ first two seasons will return in the last five minutes of next month’s finale for a huge surprise. I’ve contacted ABC for comment and will let you know when I hear more. But in the meantime, shall we weigh other possibilities? Will Rex Van De Kamp rise from the dead to demand profits from Bree’s business which bares his name? Could Paul or Zach Young come a knockin’? Anyway, let’s talk about this. If John Rowland is returning, one must wonder, for what possible reason?

UPDATE: ABC has no comment.

Two Marriage Proposals Coming Up

Thank you, Dana Delaney. The Desperate Housewives star hit the red carpet for the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards tonight in Los Angeles and was in quite a gossipy mood.

Dana confirmed a few Wisteria Lane rumors that have been floating around for the past two days, and here’s how it went down. [Don’t read past the jump if you don’t want it spoiled.]

We hear your character, Katherine, might be pregnant on the show. Is that true?

I heard that one today too. I think that would be really a miracle if I got pregnant. I do know that Mike [James Denton] and I have a romantic announcement.

You and Mike are getting engaged?
Possibly.

But, aren’t Susan [Teri Hatcher] and Jackson [Gale Harold] getting engaged?
Yep.

And, Katherine and Mike are getting engaged too?
Yep.

So, that’s a yes to you’re both getting engaged?
Yes. I hope I don’t get in trouble.

How does your proposal go down?
It’s funny the way it goes down. Let’s say that Katherine knows what she’s doing.

Wait, do you propose to him?
[She gave us a coy look, raised her eyebrows and laughed.]

I’ll take that as a maybe.
Actually, the proposal is very Mike-like. That’s all I’ll say.

Before you get too excited, consider this: Just because there are two proposals doesn’t necessarily mean there will be two answers of “yes” to those proposals or two weddings.

We caught up with Teri Hatcher at the Desperate Housewives Paley Fest panel on Saturday afternoon and asked her if she says “yes” to Jackson’s proposal, and she told us, “I can’t tell you that.” But she did dish this: “The first scene where [Gale’s] back on the street is really spicy. It was really great to see him again and I think all that came across on film, so it’s great to have him back.”

If Susan and Jackson do get hitched, show creator Marc Cherry might end up putting a wrench in their happiness down the road. On the topic of Susan and Mike getting back together, Marc told the Paley audience, “The idea is we’ll get back there. I don’t know when. If ABC makes a deal with all of us, it looks like we have a few years to play this out, so I would imagine at some point in time Susan and Mike will find their way back in each other’s universe.

Denton hopes to be back in Hatcher’s universe sometime soon too. He tells us, “I loved working with Teri for the first four seasons and hopefully will continue to. I think in the big picture, most people hope Mike and Susan will make their way back around to each other, but right now it’s Mike and Katherine. Mike and Katherine are a weird couple which is kind of fun, but it makes sense because Katherine is the anti-Susan. She’s very stable, there’s no drama, so it’s easy to see why Mike is drawn to her.”

What do you think of the two potential engagements? Do you like these couples, or do you hope that Susan and Mike will find their way back to each other one day? Source: E!Online

Are Mike and Katherine in it for the long haul on Desperate Housewives?
According to Dana Delany, the two seem to be here to stay. “I don’t think they know what the finale is yet. We have two more [episodes] left. I love working with Jamie Denton (Mike), and I hope that that continues, and I think it will because we had a nice little scene this week that we shot where we get good news.” Hmmm, now what sort of good news might that be? Usually when a couple becomes engaged they don’t refer to it as “getting good news.” We’re thinking it might be something more along the lines of a little bundle of joy.Source: E!Online

‘Housewives’ scoop: Gale Harold returns May 3

Source: The Ausiello Files

Desperatehousewives_l Six months after being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident, Gale Harold, now fully recovered, returns to Desperate Housewives as Susan’s ex, Jackson, on May 3. And I do mean fully recovered.

“Quite frankly, I think he looks even better [than before the crash],” says series creator Marc Cherry with a laugh, adding that Jackson reappears with a “very important question for Susan — one that she’s kind of stunned by.” (I’m thinking it’ll be something along the lines of *i** *o* *a*** *e?) Will you marry me?

Harold’s unexpected hiatus forced Cherry to do some fancy footwork storytelling-wise — we learned through Susan that Jackson abruptly left town to pursue a teaching opportunity — but the scribe says it all worked out in the end. “We were planning to end his storyline [around midseason],” he explains. “But because of the accident, we get to bring him back for the end of the season, which will be a nice kind of full circle journey for Susan in season 5.”

As for season 6? Although Cherry says no decision has been made about Harold returning next fall, he hints that the once-commitment-shy actor may be warming to the idea of sticking around long-term. “I think Gale may have changed his priorities [since the accident],” Cherry concedes. “But those decisions won’t be made until May.”

Happy Harold is heading back to Wisteria Lane? Theories as to what surprising question he’ll be posing to Susan? Hoping Jackson will extend his run into next season? Sound off below!

What do you know about this new character that’s joining “Desperate Housewives”? Gaby’s neice?
I’m hearing that her name is Ana, she’s 16-years-old and she’ll move in with Gaby and Carlos after Carlos’ aunt is unable to take care of her any longer. I also hear she’s a lot like Gabs was as a teenager… sexy, sneaky and pretty disrespectful. Should be quite interesting. Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Is Desperate Housewives playing another trick on us re. Edie’s death?
Ausiello:
Nah, they really killed the ol’ broad this time. But Edie returns in a big way in the April 19 episode via newly-created flashbacks with each of the main housewives. It’ll be just like the 100th episode, only swap out Beau Bridges and insert Nicollette Sheridan.

A main character will seriously consider getting a facelift. It’s not a housewife mulling a little nip/tuck it’s a husband. (Michael Ausiello)

A certain redhead will start spending a lot of time with one of Susan’s exes. Hint: He’s the one you go to when you want a divorce not your toilet fixed. (Michael Ausiello)

The April 19 episode is Edie’s final stroll down Wisteria Lane as the women look back on Edie’s life. Susan recalls their first meeting, Lynette reflects on a memorable night out, Bree is reminded of the thoughtfulness she bestowed upon Orson and Gaby remembers fondly a night of friendly competition. (Watch With Kristin)

Another Housewife will soon find herself playing surrogate mom to a feisty, spoiled teen diva who breaks the rules to get what she wants. (TV Guide)

Gaby’s funny and sexy niece Ana will be joining the cast as a regular next season. (Watch With Kristin)

Question: Please tell me the rumors aren’t true about Lynette and Carlos having an affair on Desperate Housewives.
Ausiello: First I’m hearing of that rumor. I mean, she will end up working for him. And he will accidentally see her naked. And he will kind of like what he sees. And she will be flattered by the attention. But an affair? Again, first I’m hearing of it.

Latest from Korbi

Though we’ve known for more than a month that Nicollette Sheridan will leave “Desperate Housewives” this season, the rumors about how her character Edie will depart Wisteria Lane were not officially confirmed. Until now…

Neal McDonough, who plays Edie’s sociopath husband Dave (he is determined to avenge the death of his former wife and daughter), told “Access Hollywood”‘s Billy Bush yesterday that he would indeed be the one to kill his current on-screen better half.

“It was hard for me,” he said to Bush. “Because Nic played my wife all year and she has become such a great friend.”

Fans following “Desperate Housewives” know that McDonough’s character is planning an ominous camping trip with Wisteria neighbors Mike Delfino (James Denton) — whom he holds responsible for his late family’s fate — and Delfino’s girlfriend Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany), which will play out this coming Sunday. But is it possible Edie may change her mind and crash the three-person wilderness party? Seems that way.

“I go hunting in the woods and I’m not hunting for deer,” McDonough admitted. “[It’s] a little WWE.”

However, don’t take the actor’s confession about Edie’s murder to mean that Mike Delfino and Katherine Mayfair are safe. McDonough also hinted that he may have more characters to off. “I’m not saying who I’m whacking.”

Latest from Ausiello – Nicollette Sheridan’s replacement?

The median age on Wisteria Lane is about to go through the roof.

Veteran character actress Gloria LeRoy is joining Desperate Housewives as a neighborhood fixture — presumably a longtime one — who we’ll first meet next month, right around the time Nicollette Sheridan takes her last breath as Edie.

But a Housewives insider insists the 77-year-old thesp, who’s probably best known for her scene-stealing work as Mildred “Boom-Boom” Turner on All in the Family, is not replacing Sheridan. Rather, my Wisterian mole teases, her character, Rose, “will figure into Edie’s exit in a surprising way” — one that involves an increasingly cuckoo Orson, a violent act, and a touch of dementia. And not necessarily in that order.

In other Housewives casting news, Sarah Knowlton (Medium, House) has been tapped to play a woman who may or may not be having an affair with Tom.

Desperate Housewives Spoilers: Edies Death Preview “A Spark to Pierce the Dark”

Preview of ‘Desperate Housewives’ 5.18: Death Falls Upon Edie

‘Desperate Housewives’ will lose one of its women in the March 22 episode, but most importantly, what or who kills her?

Update: New Desperate Housewives Spoilers: Carlos/Lynette Affair? Orson & Edie’s Death!

Source: Ace Showbiz TV News

Nicollette SheridanAfter an on-screen kiss between Susan and Jessie, “” moves on with another shocking upturn. This may as well be the episode where a main character is dead. who plays Edie Brit had announced her departure from the show by having her character killed in an electric shock. The March 22 episode is aptly called “A Spark to Pierce the Dark”. Bree considers selling her business to save her marriage, Lynette is threatened by her new boss, boundaries are crossed for Gaby and Carlos, Katherine is caught in the most unexpected of circumstances and Edie’s worst fears come true.

Spoiled previously, Edie’s death will take an effect on the remaining housewives who must now find Edie’s 15-year-old son Travers to inform him about his mother’s death. The housewives are set for a road trip that turns out to be a good bonding experience. Meanwhile, Neal McDonough who plays Edie’s psychotic husband Dave Williams dished out on the episode, saying “I had to do something nasty to my wife in the show. It was hard for me because Nic played my wife all year and she has become such a great friend.” He added, “I go hunting in the woods and I’m not hunting for deer. (It’s) a little WWE.”

Any scoop on Sunday’s murder-ific episode of Desperate Housewives?
We just checked in with Marc Cherry at the Douglas Blasdell Foundation Outreach event, and he told us, “On Sunday, the question will be asked, ‘Who’s in trouble on Wisteria Lane?’ The press is putting out one story, but it’s possible that there’s another Housewife whose life is on the line.” Gulp! As for Cherry’s true feelings about Nicollette, Cherry says: “The thing I’ve said to Nicollette I will say publicly: What a great broad. What fun we have working together. She’s a throwback kinda dame.”

Is there any way we can keep Neal McDonough on Desperate Housewives even though his character Dave is total psychosauce?
Just asked Marc Cherry that and he tells us, “I will tell you quite honestly that I had a discussion with Neal McDonough today. I can tell you, he is not only a great actor, but what a nice guy.” But wait, a discussion about what? What did you decide?! Aaargh! The world’s hottest melanin-challenged man must stay.

Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: “Crime Doesn’t Pay”

‘Desperate Housewives’: Men (and women) behaving badly

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

Evalongoria_desperatehousewives_s4_240 Wisteria Lane heated up this week on Desperate Housewives with liars, cheats and thieves taking center stage. Let’s get things started with the much-hyped killer housewife. While it wasn’t a huge surprise that Maria, Carlos’s boss’s cheated-upon wife, was the murderer, I’m digging this plot. Two thumbs up for the scene where Gaby and Carlos arrive at Maria’s house to find Bradley with a carving knife in his chest and Maria explaining that she just couldn’t listen to him talk about the affair anymore. I like to see the show getting back to its over-the-top soapy roots.

Are there any other musical theater nerds in the house? Because Maria totally reminded me of one of the “Cell Block Tango” chicks from Chicago. He had it coming! (Note to cheating husbands: The best time to break the news of your affair to your hormonal, pregnant wife probably isn’t while she’s holding a carving knife.) I wonder if this means Carlos gets to keep his job…or perhaps Bradley’s? If so, I’m guessing Gaby will bounce back pretty quickly from the tragedy her interference accidentally/indirectly caused.

It’s funny how Tom and Lynette are at once the worst couple and the strongest couple on Wisteria Lane. One minute they’re fighting over a prospective job in front of the employer and making me want to strangle them (well, strangle Tom; cancer references are over the line, buddy!), and the next they’re maturely making up and choosing a path for the future, together. Though I still feel like Tom may be the worst husband ever. But he hasn’t done any time in prison, so I guess that puts him ahead of just about every other husband on the street. Wow. At any rate, I look forward to seeing how Lynette’s latest stab at having a career goes. Here’s to her adolescent husband not sabotaging it!

Danadelany_desperatehousewives_s4_240 Speaking of dumb husbands, Mike somehow thinks it’s okay to hang a painting in Katherine’s house when he moves in without telling her that Susan painted it OR that it depicts the beach where they honeymooned. No matter how ridiculous the events that follow may be, Mike’s offense was the worst, in my opinion. Of course, Susan then should’ve understood why Katherine took it down, and Katherine shouldn’t have felt the need to lie about the reason. But all is soon right with the world as Susan redeems herself by acting like a crazy lady and reclaiming the painting, getting it out of Katherine’s house and looking more nutso than Katherine in the process. Way to play to your strengths, Susan.

As if Orson couldn’t be even more of a catch – a whiny ex-felon with an inferiority complex – he’s now a kleptomaniac, stealing small items from people who he feels have wronged him. What is he, five? Although Bree’s publisher, at least, totally deserved it. I can’t think of many things more annoying than someone reciting unflattering book ideas inspired by you into a tape recorder on the spot. But stealing from Bree? Something tells me she’s the type of gal who would notice an earring going missing. And then would turn you in to the cops.

And finally, more movement on the Dave front! A local priest recognizes him, eventually leading Edie to Dave’s real last name – Dash. Was anyone else surprised to see the priest alive in the last scene when Edie came to see him? I half expected him to turn up dead in the confessional after busting Dave in the liquor store like that.

Murder in ‘Desperate Housewives’ 5.16: Crime Doesn’t Pay

Somebody kills somebody else, or something as more secrets are spilled, in the new ‘Desperate Housewives’.

See larger image

After a two-week worth of break, “” will return with a large scale, a murder. On the March 8 episode called “Crime Doesn’t Pay”, Edie digs into Dave’s past after a chance encounter with an old acquaintance.

Meanwhile, Bree tells Lynette she’ll help Tom secure a new job, but the best intentions will reach a tempestuous end and reveal Orson’s shameful misdeeds; Gaby finds herself in a precarious position when Carlos’ adulterous boss begins using her to cover for himself as he continues to cheat on his wife.

Recently, the show has been made the center of the media after Nicolette Sheridan, the actress who portrays Edie, is said to leave the show. Her last episode which is still unknown, will see her killed through a wire shock. The rest of the desperate housewives then must break the news to Edie’s son. Source: Ace Showbiz TV News

5-16 “Crime Doesn’t Pay” March 8

Written by Jamie Gorenberg; directed by Larry Shaw

  • When Carlos’s boss uses Gabrielle as a cover for his affair, Gabrielle visits the boss’s mistress to tell her to end the relationship. But will Gabrielle’s efforts blow up in her face?
  • The Scavos sell their restaurant, but now they need new jobs. Bree wants to help her friend Lynette by finding Tom a job, and to do so, she throws a dinner party where Bree’s publisher is interested in giving Tom a job. Lynette might be interested in the job herself, though.
  • Bree learns that Orson is stealing things. The Hodges’ marriage is in trouble!
  • While Dave and Edie are at a liquor store, a priest recognizes him as Dave Dash. Though Dave tries to keep Edie from becoming more suspicious, Edie begins to investigate her husband’s past.
  • A housewife kills a man. The victim has appeared before, and the death will have ramifications in the next episode.

5-17 “The Story of Lucy and Jessie” March 15

Written by Jordon Nardino; directed by Bethany Rooney

  • At school, Susan learns she needs to stay on the good side of Jessie (Swoosie Kurtz), who will be evaluating her. Jessie, who’s a lesbian, is mistakenly led to believe that Susan’s into her romantically. Susan and Jessie kiss! Gabrielle kisses Susan. John Rubenstein returns as Principal Hobson.
  • Edie visits the newspaper in hopes of learning about the deaths of Dave’s family.
  • A therapist tries to help Orson, but Orson’s problems may not be easy to overcome. In addition to his marital problems, Orson is also a kleptomaniac. Bree wants to protect herself from being embarrassed by Orson’s problem.
  • Carlos gets a promotion, which will lead to him working with Lucy (Lesley Boone), an overweight, attractive woman in her late 30s –who happens to be Carlos’s ex-roommate; she’ll likely appear in more than one episode. When Gabrielle becomes jealous of the closeness between Carlos and Lucy, she tells Carlos she wants him to hire Lynette.

Kevin Rahm appears as Lee.

5-18 “A Spark. To Pierce the Dark” March 22

Written by Alexandra Cunningham; directed by David Grossman

  • Susan’s disturbed when she sees a violent picture drawn by one of the kids at school. Richard Burgi is back as Susan’s first husband, Karl. John Rubenstein continues to recur as Principal Hobson.
  • Orson wants Bree to sell her catering business. But the couple have bigger problems, as Orson’s caught by someone when he continues to steal things.
  • Dave brings his gun along as he, Katherine, and Mike go camping together, and James Denton has said that someone will be shot. Katherine’s caught in unexpected circumstances. Meanwhile, back in Fairview, Edie continues to look into Dave’s past, and she may learn the truth about her husband’s secrets. Don’t miss the end of the episode as Dave takes steps to keep Edie quiet! Edie’s worst fears come true.
  • Boundaries are crossed for Carlos and Gabrielle. (Yes, this is an incredibly vague spoiler.) Lesley Boone again appears as Lucy.
  • Lynette’s threatened by her new boss.

5-19 “Look Into Their Eyes and You See What They Know” April 19

Not even death will stop Edie from making life uncomfortable for her neighbors. I’m told the surviving housewives will be faced with the grim task of having to track down Edie’s now-15-year-old son, Travers, and break the news to him about his mom’s passing. Of course, the road trip turns out to be a good bonding experience for the ladies, so it’s not a total loss. Source: Michael Ausiello @ EW

  • The women of Wisteria Lane visit Edie’s son Travers at school to tell him what happened to Edie. Edie continues to appear in this episode, but we suspect this is Nicollette Sheridan’s last appearance of the season.
  • In a flashback, Bree visits Orson at prison.
  • In another flashback, Lynette and Edie go to a bar.

5-20 April 26 (presumably) MAY SWEEPS

  • A nurse comforts a patient with delusions.
  • Someone has an accident at home and a paramedic’s called.
  • We’ll meet some women from the local garden club.

5-24 Season finale May 17 (probably) MAY SWEEPS

  • The mystery will wrap up. We suspect it will be Neal McDonough’s last episode as Dave; the show successfully rehabilitated Orson after he put Mike into a coma, but we doubt the show will attempt the same with Dave.

New Desperate Housewives Spoilers: More Deaths?

Desperate Housewives ABC/RON TOM

“Everyone is vulnerable on Wisteria Lane — any of us could go,” co-star Dana Delany admitted at Saturday’s Independent Spirit Awards. “Every single person in that cast feels like their days are numbered. I think Marc likes to keep people on their toes.” An upcoming episode that finds Katherine and Mike embarking on a camping trip with resident psycho Dave did nothing to ease Delany’s anxiety. “Trust me, I was worried the minute I read that,” confessed the actress. “Dave’s clearly not right in the head, and he has already wrongfully accused people of crimes, punched people, and killed people. But it’s good because that sense of not knowing keeps the actors on their toes and it keeps the audience anticipating.” To that end, Delany offered this cryptic tease about Katherine and Mike’s little wilderness retreat with Mr. Crazy: “There was a rifle involved, but I can’t say anything more than that.” Source: The Ausiello Files

From what I understand Nicollette is exiting the show. I’ve been told that her character Edie Britt will die in a car accident during this season’s 18th or 19th episode. In fact, longtime fans will remember that Edie has a son whom we met in year 3, and the Wisteria Lane ladies will be the ones to break the news of his mother’s death to him. With the series’ jump forward, he’s about 15 years old now. Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV
