Simonds teases that “the rest of our season isn’t about death — it’s about new life.” Say what? “[That] isn’t to say, in a show called Ghost Whisperer, that no one will die,” he quickly clarifies. “Obviously, people will die — including someone close to one of our main characters.”… Source: The Ausiello Files

Ugly Betty Episode Recap 3.16: Things Fall Apart

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

Grantbowler Ugly Betty is seeing lots of action lately. Too bad it’s not necessarily the good kind, thanks to that snake Connor.

Let’s just get straight to it, shall we? Connor is stealing from Meade. Major stealing — millions. We only find this out because the YETI class is assigned to study their magazine’s budgets. Marc pretty much makes Betty do all the work, so when the numbers don’t add up, upstanding Betty brings her concerns to CFO Connor, tipping him off.

Now Connor needs to leave town, fast. But first, he invites the love of his life, Wilhelmina to go with him. Never mind that he’s stealing from her and tearing down everything she’s worked for. They’re in love. He also sets it up so Betty and Daniel will be implicated for stealing too if they try to tell anyone.

Molly In the end, Wil chooses her career over Connor, but when the police arrive at the flight he said they should run away on, he’s not there. He took an earlier flight. No trust, ever. They sully the word “love” with that craptastic lack of trust and respect. And it’s very telling that he does all of this NOT because he loved Molly, but because he really hates Daniel.

Daniel is of course reeling, but it gets worse. Yes, as all of you guessed, Molly is ill. She beat cancer once before, but now it’s back and she doesn’t want Daniel to go through it with her, so she’s jumping ship and moving to be with her family. Nice little romance we had there, bye.

So with the co-editors single again, things have reset to one. Well, except they’re now completely broke because all the accounts have been cleaned out (that Connor is thorough). And oh yeah, there’s baby William, aka Bradhelmina Spawn, to think of.

Christophergorham_uglybetty_s2_240 The only bright spot is Betty’s possible love life. First, she freaks out when she joins Facebook and discovers that her ex Henry has posted pictures of himself and his girlfriend — no, not baby mama Charlie, but a new girlfriend, Samantha. Henry has moved on, so why can’t Betty?

Good ol’ Matt is still around, and after hemming and hawing and figurative hand-wringing, Betty is still uncertain. Matt tells her that being in YETI together doesn’t need to be a conflict of interest or awkward. That just means they share the same passion — and didn’t I say that last recap? Finally, Betty agrees and meets him for another drink. Huzzah!

Random thoughts and highlights:

– Once again, a pretty decent (if not happy) episode with lots of good action. Why is this all happening now before it goes on hiatus?
– Honestly, Facebook is everywhere nowadays. Have you checked out Zap2it’s Facebook pop-culture mentions gallery lately? I’ll have to add Ugly Betty now.
– Still loving Justin, especially how he calls Tina Brown’s bio of Princess Diana, his Di Chron.
– Great scene where MarcManda eat Betty’s sandwich.
– How painful/adorable was it when Matt and Betty did the Wall-E voice?
– You know, since there was such a big finish last episode, I just figured Christina was taken care of off camera. But not even a mention of her this episode? That’s a shabby way to treat a surrogate.
– When Connor confronts Betty in the elevator, I expected him to say, “I would have gotten away with it, if it weren’t for you meddling kids” and then rip off his mask to reveal Old Man Withers.
– This is twice now that Matt has been the voice of reason. Really, you need to listen to him from the start, Betty.

Privileged: 5 Reasons to Save ‘Privileged’

Joanna Garcia, ”Gilmore Girls”-like banter, and a surprising dark side make the CW show worthy of watching

The CW is giving Privileged a very early season finale on Feb. 24, making us worry for its future. Here’s why the freshman critical fave deserves to graduate to a second season.

1. Joanna Garcia
As tutor-to-the-rich Megan Smith, Garcia (right) plays cynical and sunny, pretty and goofy, dark and funny. Think Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in one, with a little Veronica Mars on top.

2. The Gilmore Vibe
Nothing can replace the Girls, but Privileged comes close, with heartfelt family stories, endearing side characters (Allan Louis’ chef Marco has his own series’ worth of drama!), and sparkling banter.

3. The Twins
Megan’s wealthy charges, Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough), struggle with Paris Hilton urges, date dorks and the help, and might even want to be a little smart.

4. Its Dark Side
Megan’s mom, who ditched her when she was a kid, suddenly reappeared. She then stole $25,000 from Megan’s boyfriend. Who was planning to use it as bail money for Megan’s sister. Who was accused of running drugs.

5. Underrated Actors
Anne Archer as matriarch Laurel, Sharon Lawrence as Megan’s mom, and cougar bait Robert Buckley (Lipstick Jungle) as her editor…they’ve earned their job security!

CW renews ‘Smallville,’ ‘Gossip Girl,’ ‘One Tree Hill,’ ‘Supernatural,’ and ‘90210’

Breaking: CW renews ‘Smallville,’ ‘Gossip Girl,’ ‘One Tree Hill,’ ‘Supernatural,’ and ‘90210’

Michael Ausiello @ EW

Cwrenewals_l Good news, fans of all things CW. The network just announced that it has renewed Smallville, Supernatural, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and 90210 for next season. America’s Next Top Model has also been greenlit for two additional cycles.

“As we continue to build The CW Network as a destination for young women, these six shows have clearly contributed to strengthening our schedule and our brand identity,” CW boss Dawn Ostroff said in a statement. “By securing these signature hits for next season, we’re furthering our commitment to deliver high-quality, original programming to our viewers, advertisers and affiliates.”

While the Gossip Girl and America’s Next Top Model pickups were a foregone conclusion, the fates of Smallville, Supernatural, One Tree Hill, and 90210 were less certain. In the case of Smallville and One Tree Hill, a lot was riding on which of those show’s core cast-members would be returning. Smallville‘s renewal clearly signals that Tom Welling has successfully concluded his contract negotiations with producer Warner Bros, but the same can’t be said for OTH leading man Chad Michael Murray. The actor-writer’s participation next season is TBD, although insiders say he’s expected to return in some capacity.

Conspicuously missing from The CW’s slew of renewals: The freshman gem that is Privileged. However, that doesn’t mean the show has been canceled, a CW source insists. “No final decision has been made yet,” the insider says. Translation: Watch tonight’s season finale, dammit!

Reaction to all the renewals? Do you deem any of them unworthy? And does Privileged deserve a shot at another year? And what about fellow bubble shows Reaper, The Game, and Everybody Hates Chris? Sound off below!

Betty is up for one potentially unpleasant surprise in the episode 3.16 of ““. Through a sneak peek of the upcoming episode, it can be seen that when companies all over the country are collapsing, the economic turmoil will hit Mode as Claire Mead revealed that all of the account had been cleared out.

To be aired on Thursday, February 26, the episode entitled “Things Fall Apart” will see Betty making a surprising discovery while analyzing Mode’s budget for the past year with Marc. As if that is not enough, she also has to deal with increased attention from Matt and the knowledge that old flame Henry has posted some unexpected news on Facebook.

Starring as Betty Suarez, as Daniel Meade, Judith Light as Claire Meade and as Wilhelmina Slater among others, the particular episode of “Ugly Betty” will see Daniel Eric Gold guest-starring as Matt and Grant Bowler as Connor Owens. It is directed by Tom Verica from a script written by Henry Alonso Myers.

The show is casting the recurring role of Richard Hartley, a fiftysomething Ted Turner-type and the father of Betty’s new love, Matt. (Michael Ausiello)

Lost Episode Recap: “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham”

Namaste! Wednesday’s episode of Lost fills in the time gap between when Locke leaves the island with Christian Shephard’s help via the frozen donkey wheel to the time when “Jeremy Bentham” dies. We see Locke’s unsuccessful attempts to convince Sayid, Kate, Hurley and Jack to return to the island. Plus, we have new Others! Like Ben and Juliet before them, the sinister, clearheaded Caesar and Ilana have a mission, it seems, but they’re unlikely to be forthcoming about it any time soon, what with all the pointed questioning and firearms. I also have a few theories! So let’s get to “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham,” shall we? … read more

Major Ghost Whisperer Spoilers: Melinda is Pregnant! Set Photos Prove it!

Jennifer Love Hewitt Eyes a Maybe Baby Future

Source: E! Online

She may have just called off her engagement, but that’s not stopping Jennifer Love Hewitt from planning for a baby. At least, not on her show. At the Adam by Adam Lippes show during New York Fashion Week Saturday, the Ghost Whisperer star raved about the “very fresh and comfortable” dresses and teased E! News about the remaining episodes this season. “There’s lots going on,” she said. “I think the audience will be very, very happy. There’s an unexpected reunion and there’s maybe the pitter-patter of tiny feet.” J.Love also sees such a pitter-patter on her eventual horizon. “At some point in the future, yes,” she said about someday becoming a mother…

Hillary Duff Visit to Grandview!

Things in Ghost Whisperer’s Grandview are getting sexier by the minute. As if Jennifer Love Hewitt weren’t enough, starlet Hilary Duff will be stopping by in a few short weeks to stir things up with a new perspective on what must be the most haunted town on television. Will she get along with J.Love, or are they meant to be adversaries? E!’s own Michael Yo just sat down with Hilary and brought back the goods…

First off, there’s no need to worry about a multihyphenate throwdown: J.Love and Hilary Duff are old pals, and that’s how Duff got the part. Hilary says, “Jennifer Love Hewitt’s one of my friends, and we were having dinner one night. She’s like, ‘Come be on my show. You know, we’re almost finished.’ I’m like, ‘Give me a part. I’ll do it.’ And it just kind of came about really naturally and organically like that.”

Duff will be playing—wait for it—a woman with a little ghost problem that Melinda Gordon might just be able to solve. Duff says, “I’m kind of being haunted by someone that I was in a relationship with before they passed away. He had unfinished business with me, and I’m having nightmares of being turned upside down in my apartment, like when I’m sleeping on the bed, I’m actually going to be hanging from the ceiling.”

Hilary’s episode of Ghost Whisperer airs Friday, April 9 at 9 p.m. on CBS.

New Brothers & Sisters Spoilers: Death! Who?

Preview: Death Falls Upon ‘Brothers and Sisters’

‘Brothers and Sisters’ will overcome a shocking death while coping with a new addition in a two-hour special telecast.

A shocking death shakes the very core of the Walkers family in the next ““. In two weeks, the show will merge two hours for a special episode where the family is torn between the happiness of Kitty’s new arrival and the death from one of the members.

In the two parts of “Troubled Waters”, the Walker family experiences the thrill of a new life born and the desperation and terror of loss when one of their own has a life-threatening crisis. Meanwhile, Rebecca turns to her father (guest starring Ken Olin) for help when she discovers some information that could destroy the family business and send one of the Walkers to prison.

The special 2 hour event will air March 1 starting 9/8c.

Spoiler alert. It had been reported that Tommy will be tangled in a legal trouble following the discovery by Holly and Rebecca. This will provide as an exit story for Balthazar Getty who plays Tommy. His last episode is reportedly “Spring Broken” that will air March 15.

We’ll see William Walker again before the season ends. Tom Skerritt is scheduled to appear in a flashback with Calista Flockhart this Spring. (Korbi TV)

In the finale of Brothers & Sisters, I hear Kitty goes house-hunting with someone other than Robert. (Michael Ausiello)

New One Tree Hill Spoilers! Death Comes to Tree Hill!

Laetitia from Paris: Salut, Kristin, I heard that Peyton from One Tree Hill is gonna lose her baby in a car crash? She’s my favorite character. Please tell me it’s not true.
I love that your favorite character is one you haven’t even met yet! I have a soft spot for Peyton and Lucas’ spawn, too. (Or wait, did you mean Peyton is your fave?) Anyhoo, regardless, a source tells me this: “There is a car crash, but Peyton will not lose the baby because of that. She will be OK. But so far we don’t know if the baby lives or dies yet in the finale.” Ugh. Have your family-sized Kleenex box standing by, just in case!

Tree Hill, Supernatural and 90210 Killer Twists

(Contains spoilers) Reading about the impending demise of TV characters can sometimes make a viewer numb. But the reality is, writing teams often use an unexpected death to shake up a series and produce an emotional response—both on-screen and in your living room. As we near the second half of this season, several CW shows will tread down that one-way path, including One Tree Hill, Supernatural and 90210. Only one of the three departing faces has been uncovered online, so fans are free to speculate about the identities of the “beloved” characters who’ll exit Supernatural on March 12 and 90210 on May 12. At least two of these deaths are being described as “major.” Any guesses?

After a big break, “” will return on March 16 with the episode called “The Age of Dissonance” and to fill in the gap, The CW have released three short promos. One is on Blair-Chuck chemistry, another one is Blair taking without paying and the last one is Serena slapping Dan to invigorate herself.

In the episode, Chuck is having trouble dealing with the mystery that was his father and the way in which his spare time was managed. Meanwhile, Nate catches Vanessa flirting with another guy, and at a moment of desperation, reluctantly turns to Blair for help.

Dan purposely ignores Serena’s calls and tells Miss Carr that things are beyond a little complicated between the two of them right now. Miss Carr chooses not to take her job back and spends most of her time in an empty apartment with her new fling, who doesn’t seem to be quite grieving from his recent break-up.

At the same time, Lily and Rufus question where their relationship is going and talk casually about merging their households, Chuck however, is against the idea, and does everything in his power to stop it.

Megan and Lily lovingly tell their father how worried they are; unaware that he has received a letter from their mother asking him to let her explain in person why she left. Sage is upset when Rose reveals that she plans to go on a wilderness trip over Spring Break, rather than going with Sage on their annual spa vacation. Zach worries that Rose is changing and won’t be interested in him much longer. Sage is shocked when Luis tells her he doesn’t believe in gay marriage and refuses to attend Marco’s wedding. Megan gives Laurel the first draft of Laurel’s biography and is relieved when Laurel loves it. Megan and Will have a fight where all of their pent up issues come out and they decide to break up. SEASON FINALE: Privileged

Pants will Drop for ‘Privileged’s’ Season 1 Finale, So What’s Up with Season 2?

Source: KTV: Korbi TV @ Zap2it.com

Joannagarcia Tonight: Rose will zip line. Sage will stand up for Sean Penn. And Megan will shock your pants off. Seriously. Pants will come off…

These are the spoilery words of Privileged‘s executive producer Rina Mimoun who, along with me and many fans, is crossing her fingers for a season two pick up right now.

If you’re interested in helping the cause, you have to watch this evening’s finale. The fate of the show depends on it and if the numbers dip tonight, we’ll never get to see the fruits of Ms. Mimoun’s latest labor. “We’ve spent so much time working on a second season full of Robert Buckley, dark Will and new, exciting romance for our girls,” Rina tells me. “I can’t imagine not getting to continue.”

Robertbuckley So yeah, Lipstick Jungle lovers, if you want your Buckley fix, you should tune in tonight to ensure that his finely crafted physique stays on television, because the axe has fallen on LJ, but there’s still hope for Privileged and Mimoun plans to keep R.B. around.

As for the first season, that story will finish tonight and it ends with a surprising cliffhanger of sorts. You know, that shocking behavior Rina mentioned before… No, Megan’s not sleeping with Robert Buckley’s character. But if that was your guess, you’re not crazy far off the track. For tonight, as I mentioned before, there will be fights, breakups, betrayals, booze (I hear Megan’s dad has been drinking since mommy dearest disappeared), both sad and happy tears, a wedding ceremony and my girl Kathy Griffin. Oh, and Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) is supposed to sing again… at Marco and Keith’s nuptials I think.

Lucykatehale Now, without a new 90210 on at 8, Privileged has an even tougher wall to scale, sans a proper lead in. So don’t just DVR the hour and plan to watch sometime later in the week. At that point, it’ll be too late. If you like Privileged, make tonight’s finale an event and tell your friends to do the same.

A lot of comments spelling out why you’re obsessed with the series (that The CW will see) could be helpful too…

New Desperate Housewives Spoilers: More Deaths?

Desperate Housewives ABC/RON TOM

“Everyone is vulnerable on Wisteria Lane — any of us could go,” co-star Dana Delany admitted at Saturday’s Independent Spirit Awards. “Every single person in that cast feels like their days are numbered. I think Marc likes to keep people on their toes.” An upcoming episode that finds Katherine and Mike embarking on a camping trip with resident psycho Dave did nothing to ease Delany’s anxiety. “Trust me, I was worried the minute I read that,” confessed the actress. “Dave’s clearly not right in the head, and he has already wrongfully accused people of crimes, punched people, and killed people. But it’s good because that sense of not knowing keeps the actors on their toes and it keeps the audience anticipating.” To that end, Delany offered this cryptic tease about Katherine and Mike’s little wilderness retreat with Mr. Crazy: “There was a rifle involved, but I can’t say anything more than that.” Source: The Ausiello Files

From what I understand Nicollette is exiting the show. I’ve been told that her character Edie Britt will die in a car accident during this season’s 18th or 19th episode. In fact, longtime fans will remember that Edie has a son whom we met in year 3, and the Wisteria Lane ladies will be the ones to break the news of his mother’s death to him. With the series’ jump forward, he’s about 15 years old now. Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Desperate Housewives Spoilers: Will Edie be Killed off?

Is Edie Gonna Die? Housewives Husband Shares His Take

Will Desperate Housewives‘ mysterious and murderous Dave Williams do away with his wife, Edie, so as to escort Nicollette Sheridan off the show she has called home for five years?

Although conventional wisdom (as well as a setside source) tells us that Sheridan will be killed off the ABC serial later this season, Neal McDonough sheepishly laughs when presented with such a scenario by TVGuide.com. “Uh … I am sworn to secrecy,” McDonough said.

“[Nicolette] is going to have a fantastic sendoff,” her leading man promises. “We’ve had a blast, and I’m going to be sadder than anyone to see her go.”

Speaking hypothetically about Edie’s demise, McDonough ventured, “Dave would be crushed, because Dave really does love Edie. And that’s what I love about playing this character. [He] really does love Edie so much, and a piece of him loves Mike as his best friend.

“But there’s another piece of him,” he continued, “that has to slap him out of it every once in a while and say, ‘Stay the course. Do your job. You have to finish this.'”

McDonough says Sheridan “took it great” when she was told that Edie was being written off the show. As he points out, “Here’s a girl who has worked 20 years in television without stopping. So they came up with a[n exit] storyline, and she was like, ‘Yeah, it’s fine. No problem.'”

“Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers! Is Izzie Really Going to Die?”

Grey’s Anatomy: Is Izzie Really Going to Die?

Katherine Heigl, Grey's Anatomy ABC/ERIC MCCANDLESS

Anyone dying to know if Katherine Heigl will be dying on Grey’s Anatomy? Well, join the club. Sources are still saying that although nothing is official, it’s looking “very likely” that both Heigl and T.R. Knight will sail off into an ABC-free sunset come season’s end.”The legal papers just need to be signed,” says one insider familiar with the situation.

So, we have questions for you. Are the months-long rumors true that Izzie will die? If so, was bringing Denny back a mistake at first glance, but retrospectively a brilliant way to build up to Izzie’s death? And if Izzie dies, what does that mean for Alex? For that matter, how would fragile Mer cope with another tragedy?

Also, how sorely would George (T.R.) be missed? Would Seattle Grace be the same? Can the show survive without these two?

So now Shonda Rhimes is saying that the rumors about Katherine Heigl and TR Knight leaving Grey’s are untrue. So they’re not leaving?
If you examine Shonda’s exact words, you’ll see she’s quite skilled at evading the whole truth. As I understand it, Heigl and Knight are currently negotiating the terms of their departure. Since they’re both under contract, they’re technically at the mercy of the network execs and producers, who are no doubt insisting on conditions (most likely future guest appearances) before letting them take off. But until everyone reaches an agreement on all points, KH & TR can’t go anywhere, which gives Shonda room to shimmy when directly questioned. Source: KTV: Korbi TV @ Zap2it.com

Question: What’s up with the McFight on tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy? Is Derek hitting Mark over Lexie?
Ausiello:
Kind of, but not really. It’s a classic case of transference. Derek’s really mad at Addison, but he ends up taking his frustration out on Mark instead. And man, do those two beat the crap out of each other. There’s even blood!

Question: Can you give us some scoop on tonight’s Grey’s?
Ausiello:
Izzie finds out that her blood sample was mixed up (shocker!), which means she’s suffering from something far worse than anemia (double shocker!). But what? Sadly, we have to wait until March 12 for the official diagnosis.

Question: Will we be getting any Callie-Arizona scenes on Grey’s Anatomy this week?
Ausiello:
That’s affirmative. Callie asks Arizona out on a date!

Lost Episode Recap: “316”

HTML clipboardHTML clipboard Well, we now know how the Oceanic 6 got back to the island, but because this is Lost and not Two and a Half Men, what appears to be the burning question is instantly supplanted by a more complicated one: Why did they go back? While Jack and Sun were already on board with Ben’s plan to return, all of a sudden Kate, Sayid and Hurley were all queuing up at the Ajira Airways gate, and we have no idea why. It opens up possibilities in the already-twisty narrative that give us much to anticipate about future episodes. Read on for more about “316”…read more
