The CW is leaning more into the women demographic with the inclusion of fashion-oriented ‘Beautiful Life’ and the 2.0 version of ‘Melrose Place’.

The CW's Official Fall 2009 Schedule Listed
See larger image The CW’s presentation of the Fall 2009 line-up makes it official that “” spin-off will not be picked up anytime soon and “” is formally dismissed. Instead, the network opts to add up to the list, three brand new series ““, “” and ““.

The spin-off dubbed as “Lily”, was already previewed in an episode of the original series but there were rumors floating that it would not be picked up at all. This is apparently not true. CW President Dawn Ostroff said that this is “the toughest year” they ever had because the selection of pilots is “really, really good”. She continued, “We do have room for another midseason show. We have some reality, and we’ll probably have another scripted drama. We’re just going to take a beat and see where we are. In all honesty, I think the Gossip Girl spinoff is the show that we would love to be able to find a place for as the season goes on.”

Meanwhile, “Vampire”, “Melrose” and “Beautiful” are paired with the network’s established series which have the same tone. “Melrose” is taking the Tuesdays slot with “” which is also a refurbished version of ’90s series. “Beautiful”, which is about fashion models, is put on Wednesday with the lead-in from “” while “Vampire” is going to precede “” on Thursdays.

With the excluding of “” and ““, the fall schedule subsequently is packed with dramas and no comedy. But Ostroff defended that it is “the most cohesive lineup” they’ve ever had. The slogan they would like to opt this time around would be, “TV to Talk About”.

CW upfront notes: ‘Smallville,’ ‘Supernatural,’ ‘90210’-‘Melrose’ crossovers

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

The news coming out of The CW’s upfront wasn’t just about the new shows. Click through for notes on “Smallville,” “Supernatural” and more.

“Smallville” is moving to Friday nights in the fall, but that shouldn’t be taken as a sign that the network’s longest-running current series is on its way out.

“No,” CW Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff says. “First of all, it’s way too early” to talk about at the moment, as the show’s producers haven’t yet mapped out the storyline for season nine. “But no, it’s not the last season,” she adds. “Hopefully not.” (For what it’s worth, star Tom Welling has reportedly signed on for two more seasons.)

“Smallville’s” former Thursday-night companion, “Supernatural,” is entering its fifth season in the fall — and according to creator Eric Kripke’s original blueprint for the show, five seasons would tell the whole story of the Winchester boys. As with “Smallville,” Ostroff says it’s too early to make a definitive statement on whether the show could go on longer.

“We’ll see how the season goes,” she says. “But they did a really good job creatively this year, and I think it really paid off in the ratings.” “Supernatural” really was in a groove this season, but last week’s finale basically set up the coming of the apocalypse. After Sam and Dean battle Lucifer, are there really any other demons to slay, so to speak?

Another veteran show, “One Tree Hill,” is dealing with the departures of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton from the cast. Ostroff is sorry to see them go, but she also thinks their leaving represents an opportunity to freshen up the series.

“We tried to get them to stay, and we would have been thrilled if they wanted to,” Ostroff says. “I think the show moving into its seventh year was very open to sort of reinventing itself. One thing I have to give [creator] Mark Schwahn a lot of credit for is he’s kept the show fresh all these years. … I think Mark is excited about maybe bringing on a few new characters, which is what we’re going to do now that we’re finishing the pilot process.

“If you look at shows like ‘ER’ and [others] that go on for many, many years, a lot of these casts go through different people, and it really helps to keep shows fresh. So we’re said to see [Murray and Burton] go, and grateful for everything they did for the show, but excited about moving on and seeing who else is going to join the cast.”

The original “Melrose Place” was spun off from “Beverly Hills, 90210,” and since the new “90210” takes place in the same world, we were wondering if there’s a possibility for characters from that show to pop up on the new “Melrose,” or vice versa. Answer: Very possibly.

“We actually have talked about character crossovers,” Ostroff says. “It’s not in the pilot, but I think there will be a lot of opportunities for us to do it.”

That could pose a paradoxical problem, though, if Rob Estes ever comes near the apartment complex. Estes played Kyle McBride for much of the original “Melrose Place’s” run, and he now plays West Bev High Principal Harry Wilson on “90210.” So if Harry ever showed up at Melrose Place in search of, say, his daughter Annie (Shenae Grimes), the entire fictional universe could collapse on itself.

The CW’s fall 2009 schedule, night by night

The CW didn’t tinker much for the fall, adding just three new series (“The Beautiful Life,” “The Vampire Diaries” and the new “Melrose Place”). For its final season, the Superman story “Smallville” moves to Fridays, presumably because its audience will tune in no matter the night. Oh, and don’t look for original programming on weekends; The CW got out of that game.

Dawn Ostroff says ‘Gossip Girl’ spin off could still get a spot on The CW schedule

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Brittanysnow The “Gossip Girl” spin off is still breathing? CW president Dawn Ostroff informed reporters at Upfronts this morning that the pilot revolving around Serena’s mom circa 1980s is still in contention for midseason: “In all honesty the “Gossip Girl” spin off [is something] we’d like to find a place for as the season goes on. But we have to wait a minute and see where we are.”  Ostroff said the network was in a very fortunate position, having produced just six pilots, all of which were strong candidates for pick up. “It was the toughest deal we’ve ever had, figuring out what to cut, because they all were really, really good,” she shared.  Ostroff went on to explain that The CW will reevaluate later in the year, but will likely pick up a reality series for January launch, as well as another scripted show. The possibilities of course include, among others, the “Gossip Girl” spin off and “The Body Politic,” a D.C. based drama starring Brian Austin Green, Jason Dohring and Minka Kelly. “Parental Discretion Advised” — formerly titled “Light Years,” about a foster kid that finds her biological parents who haven’t spoken since the one-night-stand which produced her — has already made the midseason schedule. So what are the chances the “Gossip Girl” spin off is a go? Word is, “The Body Politic” pilot turned out really well, but I don’t know that it fits with The CW’s vision of itself as well as the “GG” brand does. Plus, Ostroff seems pretty happy with the “GG” spin off, saying producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage did an incredible job with it and that it doesn’t need a lot of development, it’s absence from the fall schedule was really just a matter of not yet having enough room for it.

Fall TV: Smallville Leaps to Fridays in a Single Bound

Source: TV Guide Online

The CW isn’t officially showing its hand for the 2009-10 until its Thursday morning upfronts event — and I’ll be there on the red carpet chatting up the young ‘n’ fab talent! — but one piece of not-entirely-super news looks for certain: Smallville is being shuttled to Fridays at 8, for its ninth (and perhaps final) season, sources tell TVGuide.com.   The Smallville move serves two purposes. For one, it clears the way for the new Vampire Diaries blood-sudser to lead into Supernatural on Thursdays.   Also, it gives the CW a Friday show with an audience of 3 million-plus, where in seasons past it was lucky to drum up 2 mil (with Everybody Hates Chris or The Game, neither of which is likely to make the cut for the fall).  Airing after Smallville on Fridays will be an encore showing of that week’s America’s Next Top Model.

CW picks up ‘Beautiful Life,’ ‘Melrose Place,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ …dumps ‘Privileged’

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Well, it’s a sad day for “Privileged” fans. Sources say the network surprised many by making the last-second decision to let the Rina Mimoun drama go quietly into the night earlier this week. So I guess we’ll never know what happened with Will and Megan after she woke up in bed post-“we were on a break” sex… Feel free to express your condolences/catty complaints in the comments section. And if you have questions for Ms. Mimoun, please let me know. On a brighter note, I’m hearing really good things about the Ashton Kutcher-produced “Beautiful Life,” which insiders say is a sure thing for fall. Word is, the drama about young models in the city will film in New York, instead of Canada where the pilot was shot, because the network has high hopes for it. And, no surprise, “Melrose” and “Vampire Diaries” will get an official pick up on Thursday too, as has long been rumored.

The CW will not be renewing Privileged for a second season. There was talk of a possible midseason berth for the much-loved dramedy, but, ultimately, the show was a casualty of the network’s strong development. “It’s truly heartbreaking,” series creator Rina Mimoun said via e-mail. “I’m so grateful to everyone out there who supported our little show and fell in love with Megan Smith. She was the most delightful character I’ve ever had the pleasure to write and watching JoAnna Garcia bring her to life every day was a gift I will never forget. I’m incredibly proud of the work we did and forever indebted to all the fans, critics and to Warner Bros. for being so wonderful and supportive. I will miss this more than you know.” Class act, that one.

Among new shows, The CW has picked up Melrose Place 2.0, Beautiful Life, and Vampire Diaries. Oh, and the Gossip Girl spin-off is officially dead Source: The Ausiello Files

Privileged: 5 Reasons to Save ‘Privileged’

Joanna Garcia, ”Gilmore Girls”-like banter, and a surprising dark side make the CW show worthy of watching

The CW is giving Privileged a very early season finale on Feb. 24, making us worry for its future. Here’s why the freshman critical fave deserves to graduate to a second season.

1. Joanna Garcia
As tutor-to-the-rich Megan Smith, Garcia (right) plays cynical and sunny, pretty and goofy, dark and funny. Think Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in one, with a little Veronica Mars on top.

2. The Gilmore Vibe
Nothing can replace the Girls, but Privileged comes close, with heartfelt family stories, endearing side characters (Allan Louis’ chef Marco has his own series’ worth of drama!), and sparkling banter.

3. The Twins
Megan’s wealthy charges, Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough), struggle with Paris Hilton urges, date dorks and the help, and might even want to be a little smart.

4. Its Dark Side
Megan’s mom, who ditched her when she was a kid, suddenly reappeared. She then stole $25,000 from Megan’s boyfriend. Who was planning to use it as bail money for Megan’s sister. Who was accused of running drugs.

5. Underrated Actors
Anne Archer as matriarch Laurel, Sharon Lawrence as Megan’s mom, and cougar bait Robert Buckley (Lipstick Jungle) as her editor…they’ve earned their job security!

As Marco and Keith (guest star David Monohan) prepare for their wedding, with the help of wedding planner Olivia (guest star Kathy Griffin), Megan discovers that her father is drinking again. Megan and Lily lovingly tell their father how worried they are; unaware that he has received a letter from their mother asking him to let her explain in person why she left. Sage is upset when Rose reveals that she plans to go on a wilderness trip over Spring Break, rather than going with Sage on their annual spa vacation. Zach worries that Rose is changing and won’t be interested in him much longer. Sage is shocked when Luis tells her he doesn’t believe in gay marriage and refuses to attend Marco’s wedding. Megan gives Laurel the first draft of Laurel’s biography and is relieved when Laurel loves it. Megan and Will have a fight where all of their pent up issues come out and they decide to break up. Attending the wedding alone, Megan meets Simon (guest star Julian Morris), a college friend of Keith’s, and is unsure what to do when Will calls her the next morning to apologize.

SEASON FINALE: Privileged

Pants will Drop for ‘Privileged’s’ Season 1 Finale, So What’s Up with Season 2?

Source: KTV: Korbi TV @ Zap2it.com

Joannagarcia Tonight: Rose will zip line. Sage will stand up for Sean Penn. And Megan will shock your pants off. Seriously. Pants will come off…

These are the spoilery words of Privileged‘s executive producer Rina Mimoun who, along with me and many fans, is crossing her fingers for a season two pick up right now.

If you’re interested in helping the cause, you have to watch this evening’s finale. The fate of the show depends on it and if the numbers dip tonight, we’ll never get to see the fruits of Ms. Mimoun’s latest labor. “We’ve spent so much time working on a second season full of Robert Buckley, dark Will and new, exciting romance for our girls,” Rina tells me. “I can’t imagine not getting to continue.”

Robertbuckley So yeah, Lipstick Jungle lovers, if you want your Buckley fix, you should tune in tonight to ensure that his finely crafted physique stays on television, because the axe has fallen on LJ, but there’s still hope for Privileged and Mimoun plans to keep R.B. around.

As for the first season, that story will finish tonight and it ends with a surprising cliffhanger of sorts. You know, that shocking behavior Rina mentioned before… No, Megan’s not sleeping with Robert Buckley’s character. But if that was your guess, you’re not crazy far off the track. For tonight, as I mentioned before, there will be fights, breakups, betrayals, booze (I hear Megan’s dad has been drinking since mommy dearest disappeared), both sad and happy tears, a wedding ceremony and my girl Kathy Griffin. Oh, and Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) is supposed to sing again… at Marco and Keith’s nuptials I think.

Lucykatehale Now, without a new 90210 on at 8, Privileged has an even tougher wall to scale, sans a proper lead in. So don’t just DVR the hour and plan to watch sometime later in the week. At that point, it’ll be too late. If you like Privileged, make tonight’s finale an event and tell your friends to do the same.

A lot of comments spelling out why you’re obsessed with the series (that The CW will see) could be helpful too…

When Marco decides to win Keith (guest star David Monohan) back and shows up unannounced at his house, he discovers Keith is now involved with his longtime friend Jennifer (Jennifer Elise Cox). Marco takes dramatic action to keep his true love from slipping away. Meanwhile, Rose tells Sage the shocking news that Miles is their real grandfather. The twins tell Megan what they know, then confront Laurel with the truth. During all the family drama, Rose knows that Sage is keeping something from her and when Sage finally confesses her own personal secret, it causes a profound change in the twin’s relationship.

I still can’t believe Charlie left Privileged on Tuesday, even though you told us about it months ago. Why would they fire Michael Cassidy?
Oh, Cassidy wasn’t fired. No, in fact, Privileged’s season one finale is next week, so he’s really only missing one ep. If The CW gives the show a second year, I’m sure we’ll see him again.

Privileged Spoilers: Season Finale Scoop!

Privileged Preview: Is Rose Ready to Bloom and Go Solo?

by Matt Mitovich TV Guide

Lucy Kate Hale

As the charming CW comedy Privileged (Tuesdays at 9 pm/ET) unspools its final freshman-season episodes, Rose will find herself ready to make a change — one that could forever alter her relationship with twin sis Sage. Lucy Kate Hale teased the twists and turns ahead, as well as weighed in on the “mean people” who booed NBC’s Bionic Woman, to whom she played sis.

TVGuide.com: What’s your favorite thing about Rose? And what would you change about her?
Lucy Kate Hale:
My favorite thing about her is she’s genuine and vulnerable. She wears her heart on her sleeve. The one thing I’d change is that she becomes more independent and creates more of an identity for herself.

TVGuide.com: I have that exact teaser here on my desk: “Rose makes a move to become more independent in the last two episodes [airing Feb. 10 and March 10].”
Hale:
Yeah, and it’s a big change. It’s sad for fans of the twins and how they’re always together, but we are going to learn they are two different people and don’t always have to be together.

TVGuide.com: What sort of move does Rose make? Does she shack up with boyfriend Zach, dye her hair blonde …?
Hale:
She doesn’t move in with Zach, not yet. Zach is around to stay, and if there’s a Season 2 — knock on wood — he’ll be there. But it’s a pretty big move, literally. In the second-to-last episode, all these surprises and secrets that were kept from Rose are thrown at her, and that leads her to make big choices.

TVGuide.com: Are you glad that Zach isn’t the traditional stud/arm candy?
Hale:
I am so glad, because the first boyfriend that Rose had was not very nice to her. Zach totally would be my type in real life —sweet, smart, funny and quirky. It’s good for the audience to see that Rose will go for the underdog.

TVGuide.com: Please, please, please tell me that Ashley Newbrough isn’t nearly as nasty as Sage is.
Hale:
She definitely isn’t — and I know that because I’m moving in with her! We’re getting an apartment together. She’s literally one of the greatest people I’ve ever met in my life. I’ve been told that the sweetest people play the best bitches.

TVGuide.com: Does she ever get in a funk playing the meanie?
Hale:
Yeah, because she doesn’t want people to dislike her. You know how Leighton Meester is a bitchy character [on Gossip Girl], but you love her? It’s the same way with Sage. Plus, they’ve been showing more of why Sage is the way she is, that she’s damaged and puts up a guard.

TVGuide.com: Are you as sweet on JoAnna Garcia as I am?
Hale:
I adore her. She’s been so great to Ashley and I. She was on Reba for like seven years, and she’s given us tips and pointers ….

TVGuide.com: Is she like a big sis, or are you all-out gal pals?
Hale:
Both. We can hang out with her and have a good time, but there is that big sister quality. She’s so honest and has a way of saying things.

TVGuide.com: If we can talk about Bionic Woman for a bit… . Was it hard seeing that show get dissected and critically slammed last TV season?
Hale:
It was such a bummer. It was my first show, and for that to be my first experience … was hard. I mostly felt bad for Michelle [Ryan], who worked her ass off every single day [as the series lead]. People were so mean about it. It just wasn’t meant to work out, I guess.

TVGuide.com: Did we ever get a story on why Jaime Summers’ kid sister [played in the original pilot by Mae Whitman, then recast with Hale] ceased being deaf?
Hale:
All I heard was that they wanted to go a different way with the character. Mae Whitman was incredible, and I don’t know why they made that choice. I didn’t ask any questions. I just went in and did what they asked!

TVGuide.com: Tell me about the horror movie you have coming out this year, Deep Cove. It looks like a real CW “all-star team” effort.
Hale:
Deep Cove should be interesting, for sure. It’s an independent horror film I did after we shot the pilot for Privileged. Haylie Duff (7th Heaven) is in it, and Aaron Ashmore (Smallville)….

TVGuide.com: Any chance you will resurface on How I Met Your Mother as Robin’s sister?
Hale:
You know what? I’m really going for it, because outside of Privileged, that was the most favorite thing I’ve ever done. Keep your fingers crossed, because I sure am!

Have you heard anything about Robert Buckley on Privileged?

New Privileged Spoilers: ‘All About Confessions’

2/3 New ‘All About Confessions’

Megan is surprised to hear that Charlie has been accepted to UCSD and is moving to California. She takes him out to celebrate his good news, and he shocks her by kissing her and admitting he has been in love with her for years. When Megan tells Will what happened, he is so upset that he ruins Charlie’s goodbye party by confronting Charlie and starting a fist fight. Meanwhile, Rose is approached by Miles’ daughter, Elyse (guest star Elaine Hendrix), who reveals to Rose that Miles is the girls’ real grandfather. Sage worries that Luis (guest star Ignacio Serricchio) will be disappointed that she is a virgin, but is surprised to learn that he is deeply religious and does not believe in pre-marital sex. Luis invites Sage to church, which brings up her grief about her parents death and leads to a startling confession.

Privileged Episode Recap

Kristina Apgar

“I didn’t do it.” Such is the very first thing Lily says to Megan when Megan comes to visit her in jail, after the two sisters haven’t spoken in months. Not ‘Nice to see you, Megan,’ or ‘We have a lot of catching up to do,’ or ‘Let me tell you about my wedding,’ or even ‘Does this blue jumpsuit make me look fat?’ Lily isn’t much for pleasantries. She just quickly explains what happened – she was found with a backpack full of drugs in her hotel room, while new husband Sammy vanished without a trace, leaving Lily to take responsibility – and insists that Megan needs to get her $25,000 bail, believing that Megan now lives in a world where people can just snap their fingers and make $25,000 magically appear.

Megan takes the news back to her parents, with Will driving her. Megan starts to put together a plan of how the family could raise $25,000 without having to mooch off their wealthy associates, but while Will steps in and immediately offers to pay the bail himself, Megan’s dad Arthur stops him and says that nobody is going to pay the bail. Arthur thinks that Lily needs a little dose of Scared Straight to get her act together, and could use a little time in jail. Arthur’s an AA veteran, and knows that sometimes you need to hit rock bottom before you’re willing to pull yourself back up. This decision thus made, Megan, for reasons that would only make sense to Megan, decides that she will be the one to tell Lily the news.

Brian HallisayBut first, Will and Lily talk about the decision, with Will saying that he totally disagrees with the call and he thinks Megan does too, only Megan wouldn’t stand up to her dad. Megan defends her dad, who’s trying to do something strong and parental for once – and Megan notes that it’s a bit of a relief not to be shouldering all this burden herself, as she’s used to. After being the one who had to look after Lily for so long, Megan is grateful to pass the buck this time around. Will thinks it’s a cop-out.

Privileged Spoilers: New Love Interest for Megan Cast!

Exclusive: Jungle Boy Toy Has “Write Stuff” for Privileged

by Matt Mitovich, TV Guide

Robert Buckley on Lipstick Jungle

A loss for the audience of one unsung series is another’s gain.

Robert Buckley, who immediately made waves on NBC’s Lipstick Jungle as Kirby, Kim Raver’s strapping young boy on the side, is joining the cast of Privileged, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

“Clearly, I can’t get enough cute guys on this show!” Privileged creator Rina Mimoun quipped while sharing the news with us.

Buckley will appear in the final two episodes of the CW series’ 18-episode freshman season, playing the editor-in-chief of a magazine where both Megan and Will hope to be working. Considering the upcoming departure of Michael Cassidy’s Charlie, it’s safe to venture that this studly scribe will have the “write stuff” to complicate Megan’s romance with the boy next door.

Privileged Spoilers & News: Charlie’s Leaving the Show!

Exclusive: Michael Cassidy no longer ‘Privileged’

by Michael Ausiello, EW

Privilegedjoann_dlSorry, Charlie-Megan fans, it looks like it’s the end of the road for Privileged‘s unrequited duo.

Michael Cassidy, a.k.a. the Dawson to Joanna Garcia’s Joey, is departing the show for reasons both creative and budgetary. He’ll make his final appearance in this season’s 15th episode when Charlie decides to go back to college.

“Charlie will be leaving town,” confirms series creator Rina Mimoun, “but not until some hot and heavy kissing goes down.”

Mimoun isn’t spilling who Chuckles will be heading to first base with, but, c’mon, read between the lines, people. She does reveal that the door has definitely been left open for Cassidy (whom she calls “a prince”) to return next season — assuming there is a next season.

“Right now, I’m more concerned about Privileged returning for a second season than just Charlie,” Mimoun confesses. “If everyone wants both, then I think we have a shot!”

Privileged‘s recent Monday “test drive” behind Gossip Girl yielded promising results; the show notched double-digit gains over its Tuesday average. Still, the underrated charmer is by no means a shoo-in for renewal, which brings us back to the question posed by Mimoun: Do you want to see Privileged back next season? And, if so, would a season 2 have to include Charlie — at least in some capacity? Cast your votes below.

P.S. Cassidy is not this person.

New Privileged Spoilers! A New Love for Megan!

What are the chances of Privileged returning for a second season?
I just talked to the lovely Joanna Garcia and asked her that very Q. She says, “I hope the chances are really good. If you know Les Moonves‘ home number, call him up.” As for the show, Joanna spills, “Megan’s going to start needing the Baker twins as much as they need her.” Last but not least, Joanna weighed in on the biggest Q of all, Charlie or Will: Says Joanna, “I think that there might be some new love interest that might come into play. It’s definitely keeping me busy and out of trouble.” Mmmm.  — Source: Kristin on E!Online

Pete Wentz about who he’ll be playing: “I’m in a club scene, and we’re hanging out. When I walk into the club, it’s not really how it works in the world of Pete Wentz. They ask me for the hoodie off my back, and then I have a little bit of a tiff and kind of walk out.” [Watch With Kristin]

New Privileged Spoilers: Charlie’s Leaving?

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Hey Korbs, thanks for all the Privileged dirt! Do you know how the show is doing now that it’s on Monday nights after Gossip Girl?
Last Monday, they pulled in about 2.2 million viewers, which was a sizeable increase from their usual Tuesday audience. This Monday, they dropped to 1.9 million, but stayed steady in target demos, so that’s good news.

Michaelcassidy YAY, YAY, YAY!!! I’m sooo happy that Charlie is finally gonna tell Megan how he really feels about her, even if it is when he’s drunk, lol… tell me, is Megan’s shock good shock or bad?
Um, yeah, not good. Sorry.

Korbi, I’ve been reading your Privileged information. Is Charlie leaving the show?
From what I understand, it seems the big C will pack his bags, say his goodbyes and leave Palm Beach in late January. But that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll never see him again…

New Privileged Spoilers! Charlie Admits his Feelings to Megan!

‘All About the Ripple Effect’

Just as she is getting used to having a relationship with her father, Arthur (guest star John Allan Nelson), Megan is thrown for a loop by the return of her mother, Shelby (guest star Sharon Lawrence), who abandoned the family when Megan was a child. Megan finds it hard to control her anger toward Shelby, but Arthur makes it clear that he wants Megan to forgive the mistakes made by both her parents in the past. To make matters worse, Megan learns that her sister Lily impulsively ran off and got married to a man Megan can’t stand. Will finds it hard to understand Megan’s complicated family issues, and is jealous that Megan seems to prefer discussing her problems with Charlie. Meanwhile, Sage denies that she is attracted to Luis (guest star Ignacio Serricchio), so Rose and Marco come up with a scheme to make Sage admit her true feelings. Sage turns the tables on Rose by setting up a date for her with Zachary (guest star David Franco), a boy Rose already likes.

Can you spill any secrets on Privileged, aka the most adorable show since Gilmore Girls?
I’ve got big news. Actually, I’ve got big, bad news: Megan might be leaving the Baker girls! I’m told that in the finale few episodes of the season, Megan will fulfill her dreams and get a job at a magazine. Can she possibly write for a major periodical, romance the witty and cute editor-in-chief and tutor the terrible two? Aaack! (P.S. Just in case you missed it on Friday, our girl Korbi broke the news that Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz guests in episode 14 of Privileged.) — Source: Kristin on E!Online

I’m a big Will-Megan fan. What should we call them? Mill? Wegan? What’s coming up for them?
I think Mill or Wegan works. But if there’s a better suggestion, comment it… What’s coming up? Well, let’s see, I’m hearing rumors of sister Lily’s return, and word is, she and Will will be locking lips. Yeah. Megan won’t take it so well.

Brianhallisay I am so happy that Charlie isn’t all up in Megan’s grill anymore. They’re way better as friends. Any Will scoop?
We’ll be meeting Will’s very wealthy parents in a couple weeks and they seem super cool and completely supportive of Megan’s relationship with their son.

Petewentz_ashleesimpson New Papa Pete Wentz isn’t letting his brand new baby boy Bronx slow him down. Having previously appeared as himself on One Tree Hill and Californication, sources tell me exclusively that Wentz will add another TV credit to his resume when he guests on an upcoming episode of The CW’s Privileged.

Word is, his scene in the show’s 14th hour — it’ll likely air as the first ep of 2009 — will be with the series’ teenage stars, Ashley Newbrough and Lucy Hale. Insiders say the cast and crew couldn’t be more excited to have Mr. Wentz on board.

What’s coming up for Megan and Will now that he’s not going away?
They’ll continue to have some issues. Seems Megan still thinks he’s not completely committed to her… and her mother (whom we’re meeting next week) will echo the sentiment. To make matters worse, Megan may be losing her main confidante, Charlie. Not only does his new live-in lady friend disapprove of their co-ed relationship, but word is, the big C wants to go back to school… in San Diego! Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Privileged Episode Recap

Privileged

We begin where the previous episode left off, with Megan having just absorbed the wham-bam double cliffhangers of learning that Rose is planning to cheat on a history test and that Will is about to head off to Brazil for a couple of months. In fact, we begin exactly where the last episode left off, with Megan outside of Rose and Sage’s classroom door. Megan knocks on the door, chats up the teacher, and comes up with a wonderfully deft excuse for why she needs to grab Rose’s purse and take it with her. Making up a quick lie is a talent, and Megan just pulled it off flawlessly. Would she have been able to do that at the beginning of the series, or are Rose and Sage actually rubbing off on her just as much as she’s trying to teach them?

Megan has thus defused Rose’s problem without allowing Rose to dig herself into a deeper and more dangerous hole, but the consequences of Rose’s actions will have to be tabled for a bit, because when Megan gets back to the estate, Will is still there waiting to talk to her. But Megan’s still preoccupied. When Megan tells Will what Rose did, Will actually thinks it’s pretty brilliant. After all, it took great foresight and planning – precisely the things that Will has totally failed to pay heed to here. Will finally gets to describe his new job to Megan. It’ll entail traveling with the Brazilian national soccer team for a few months, focusing on a teenage phenom. That’s actually a totally sweet gig.

But it’s a sweet gig that won’t ever happen. Will’s intended boss calls up soon after and pulls the job out from under Will, saying that the company’s initial choice to take the job has now decided to accept. Well, that storyline was a big tease. Bogus cliffhangers, people! We had these two big earth-shattering cliffhangers, and Megan defused the Rose situation in thirty seconds while the Will situation ends up completely scuttled….. Continue reading »

New Privileged Spoilers! Possible “Gossip Girl” Crossover?

‘Privileged’: Who’s Guesting, Who’s Getting New Boyfriends & Will There Be a ‘Gossip Girl’ Crossover

By Korbi Ghosh, Zap2it.com

Dedicated Privileged fans, this post is for you. When I mentioned last week that I’d be visiting the set, your questions came pouring in and it was an absolute pleasure getting them answered. The cast of this show couldn’t have been cooler and executive producer Rina Mimoun is my new favorite person. Sure, Bill Lawrence will always have a very special place in my heart — after all, he put me on Scrubs, gave me a line and everything — but Rina Mimoun, she is one of us, people. The woman is an avid player of Friends trivia, can spend hours gabbing about Grey’s and Gossip Girl, and will debate the Felicity dilemma (Ben vs. Noel) with the best of ’em. God bless her, between all the TV watching and running this hour-long series, she actually found time to give me a tour of the Privileged set, introduce me to the cast and answer many of your queries. So, without further ado, the answers…

Brianhallisay I love Megan and Will, but don’t want them to rush into a relationship because then he might not make it to Season 2 as a love interest. I’m curious to see how they play that one… Also, is Lily back for more trouble this season or have we seen the last of her? -Manda
We have not seen the last of Lily. In fact, she’ll be back to wreak havoc in Megan and Will’s relationship! That’s right, Megan and Will are most definitely giving this thing a shot, but his previous dalliance with Lily will bring up a few problems. Brian Hallisay, who plays Will, said there will be various issues and bumps in the road for them, but only because it would be boring otherwise. However, he also mentioned that Will will open his world up to Megan, introduce her to his family and possibly help her get ahead career-wise.

Kristinaapgar Will Megan and Lily ever have a normal relationship? -abcguy
JoAnna Garcia told me she can’t imagine that happening. But just because their dynamic is dysfunctional doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Rina said there will definitely be times when Megan’s down and we see a softer, more caring side of Lily come out.

Lucykatehale Absolutely love Privileged. It’s my new Gilmore Girls! A question for Lucy Hale: We got to hear her wonderful singing voice this week. Will we be hearing the former American Junior winner belt out some vocals in the upcoming episodes? -Chance
Unfortunately, as of now, the answer is no. They haven’t filmed Lucy singing again so far — they’ll be moving away from that whole “this is our publicist, we’re going to be famous” storyline pretty soon — but that’s not to say they won’t. Rina’s very well aware of how talented Lucy is and may be thinking of more organic ways to weave her voice into the show.

Ashleynewbrough Can you find out if Sage is a lesbian? Anyone else feel like she might be? -Kara
Ha! It never crossed my mind and I’m pretty sure the answer is no. In fact, I met Sage’s new love interest, Ignacio Serricchio (Diego on General Hospital), on set — he is also an avid Friends trivia fan who faces off against Rina — and it seems like things will get pretty hot between his character and Sage when he joins the Baker staff as Marco’s kitchen assistant. Ashley Newbrough, who plays the taller twin, said she’s not sure if he’ll be able to put up with Sage, but her feelings for the aspiring chef will certainly bring out a more vulnerable side.

Michaelcassidy Is there any hope for Charlie and Megan? -Robbie
Not in the near future. Actually, JoAnna mentioned that Charlie may soon realize his feelings for Megan might have been a bit misdirected.

You promised more scoop on Marco’s boyfriend. Spill it. -P
The hair stylist b.f. of Marco is being played by David Monahan, Jack McPhee’s first boyfriend on Dawson’s Creek! Apparently, he’s Rina’s go-to gay lover!

Joannagarcia Question for JoAnna Garcia: Are there plans to bring any of her former Reba cast members to the show yet? -Anonymous
Indeed. A huge smile swept across JoAnna’s face when I asked her this Q. She said, yes! Very soon! …Also, Christina Pickles, who played Ross and Monica’s mom on Friends, is doing a guest stint as a Palm Beach socialite who faces off against Rose over an upcoming charity event.

Garcia has stated that she wants the Gossip Girls to do a crossover, so is anyone else doing anything about it, or is it just wishful thinking? I think it would be great for Privileged. -Tony
Leightonmeester The answer, straight from the mouth of Ms. Mimoun: “We would love to do a Gossip Girl crossover! We even came up with a really fun idea for Sage and Blair (because clearly they would be friends). The problem is scheduling. With Gossip shooting in New York and us being in L.A., it makes it really difficult. But I’m still hoping we could find a way to make it work…” So, we shall see! Maybe an uproar from fans clamoring to make it happen will help. Is a Gossip Girl/Privileged crossover something you guys would be down for? Any storyline suggestions?

Privileged Scoop: CW Orders Five More ‘Privileged’ Eps

Breaking: CW Orders Five More ‘Privileged’ Eps

by Michael Ausiello, EW

Priviledged_l It’s the news we’ve been waiting for, Privileged fans. In what amounts to a major vote of confidence, The CW has ordered five additional episodes of Rina Mimoun’s increasingly addictive Tuesday night drama. What’s more, the net is temporarily giving the ratings-challenged (and People’s Choice nominated) show one of its most coveted time slots: Mondays at 9 p.m. after Gossip Girl. On Dec. 1 and 8, Privileged will air behind original episodes of Gossip Girl, replacing previously scheduled One Tree Hill repeats. Those two Privileged eps will then be rebroadcast in the show’s usual time slot, Tuesdays at 9 pm. Season to date, Privileged has averaged a so-so 2.1 rating among women 18 to 34, its target demo. In light of the Monday experiment and the five-episode pickup, The CW clearly feels the show has the potential to grow.
