One Tree Hill Season 8 Spoilers!

ONE TREE HILL: Season eight will explore the delicate balance that contemporary twenty-somethings face as they endeavor to build and define what their lives will be, while overcoming difficulties and embracing the good things that they sometimes take for granted, shrouded in the pursuit of someday. It will be a celebration of the most important things, among them the quest for love, laughter, health, friends, career and family: timeless pursuits that have always mattered, and matter now, in a place called Tree Hill.

One Tree Hill‘s Robert Buckley: “Clay’s Had a Really Rough Year”

Source: TV Guide

Now that One Tree Hill has officially been renewed, fans must wonder: Will madly in love couple Clay (Robert Buckley) and Quinn (Shantel VanSanten) survive this season’s cliff-hanger finale?

After an otherwise happy season-ender, the show ended with stalker Katie (Amanda Schull) gunning Clay and Quinn down. But not to worry: Buckley told TVGuide.com he’s pretty confident he will be sticking around next year.

CW renews Tree Hill, Life Unexpected; Cancels Melrose; Picks up two series

“Now that I’m here, I would feel like a real idiot if Clay didn’t pull through,” Buckley said at the CW’s fall TV presentation Thursday. “Wouldn’t it be the cruelest prank if it ended up that I died in Act 1 of the first episode?”

So what can we expect from the sports agent next season? “I’m sure the ICU would probably be next, and getting out of the hospital would be good,” Buckley said.

From stalkers to crashes: Check out One Tree Hill‘s craziest moments

The 29-year-old also hopes for less drama for his character in Season 8. “I drowned, I had my entire career destroyed, I got shot — Clay’s had a really rough year,” Buckley said. “I’d like to see Clay get a little bit of a good start because that kid has baggage.”

One Tree Hill Season or Series Finale Recap? 7.22 “Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…”

One Tree Hill Episode Recap: “Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You…”

This week’s One Tree Hill finale went out with a bang, literally, and all I can say as a devoted fan is we better get a Season 8 so we viewers get a nicely wrapped-up ending. But although one story line may leave us hanging, at least many of the other characters got happy endings.

Haley, still extremely depressed about the death of her mother, jumps into her pool and stays below water until her husband pulls her back up. It’s the last straw that leads her to finally speak to a therapist…

‘One Tree Hill’ season finale: Is this the end?

Source: Zap2it.com

bethany-joy-galeotti-one-tree-hill.jpg
We don’t know yet if “One Tree Hill” had its season or series finale tonight, but either way it sure went out with a bang. Literally.

According to Zap2it’s own Korbi, the show filmed two separate finales in event it wasn’t picked up for an eighth season. Considering the massive cliffhanger involved, I’m thinking the show is safe. If not, The CW brass better lock their office doors because some very angry fans are comin’ a’knockin’!

It’s time for Julian’s big film festival premiere, so the gang (including, randomly, CHASE!) packs up and heads to a big cabin in Utah for the festivities. From the time they get there until the premiere, nothing actually happens. Seriously. There are some nice character moments with Haley still working through her feelings, Mouth and Skills coming together, Alex and Josh bonding, Alex and CHASE! bonding, and Quinn and Clay having random scantily clad hijinks, but otherwise? No real plot points are put down. It’s basically one big music montage. Not that it’s a bad music montage. It’s actually quite pleasant, for the most part.

At the premiere, Julian is extremely nervous but the audience and industry folk love the film and he ends up selling the rights for $3 million. Julian celebrates by taking Brooke on a lovely walk in the woods and very sweetly proposing to her, which she accepts.

Meanwhile, Haley finally gets the sign she needs to start letting her mother go (in the form of a very, very scary and large owl). She also happily drops a bombshell on Nathan: she’s pregnant! And she thinks it’s a girl! I don’t know why she thinks this, but it is still very exciting!

Back at her hotel room, Alex continues her chase of CHASE! (see what I did there?) and beats him down until he finally agrees to go on a date with her just as Mia texts him and says she wants to get back together. Wow, a love triangle no one really cares about! Fun.

Finally, we end the hour with Clay and Quinn lounging in front of a fire and generally looking beautiful, in love and very content. Just when we think everyone is going to end the episode with a happy ending (and make us believe this is the series finale), Crazy Doppleganger Katie shows up and shoots both of them! Oh no she didn’t!

Random thoughts:

  • So, obviously the show has to come back right? Because if they filmed two different endings and then aired a cliffhanger knowing the show was done that would be a very mean trick.
  • All of the music in this episode was fantastic, even more fantastic than normal.
  • It looks like Grubbs is gone out on tour. I guess that means CHASE! is back as the random bartender of choice for next season?

Favorite quotes:

  • “Wait, how do we know you again?” – Jamie, to CHASE!
  • “My whole life my hair’s been out to get me, like it resents my forehead for taking up too much room.” – Julian
  • “Open with a sex scene. Nice work, Polanski. Good luck explaining that one to the kid.” – Nathan, to Julian

What did you guys think? Is the show coming back? How about that cliffhanger — do you think either Quinn or Clay are actually dead?

One Tree Hill – Life Unexpected – Spoiler Chat – E! Online – 4-19-2010

I’m dying for news on One Tree Hill! Please tell us, will it survive? Or will the CW pick up Life Unexpected instead?
Still no decisions yet, but they both could come back—possibly with shortened seasons, so keep the faith! We’ll find out May 20. As for OTH, I’ll be (hopefully) talking to James Lafferty and/or Rob Buckley this week, so please email me any Q’s you have or send them via twitter @kristinalert.

Sophia Bush does a pilot- Is Life Unexpected winning the battle against One Tree Hill?

One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush has been cast as the lead in a new ABC comedy. While they gave the usual “Pilot is in second place to One Tree Hill” remark lets face it when was the last time a main cast member of a in-danger show ever done a pilot without it being cancelled in the end?
The Hollywood Reporter also confirmed that of Life Unexpected and One Tree Hill only one is expected to survive

One Tree Hill – Tipped For New Season

The CW president Dawn Ostroff has admitted that she is encouraged by the success of One Tree Hill.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ostroff gave hope to Tree Hill fans about the possibility of an eighth season renewal.

“We’re encouraged. We think [creator] Mark Schwahn has done a great job with the show. The fans are the most loyal and dedicated I think I’ve ever seen. They have some 1.6 million fans on Facebook.”

She added: “Too early too tell [about a renewal], but creatively we feel the show is in a really good place.”

Asked whether One Tree Hill will be competing with Life Unexpected for a slot in the 2010-11 schedule, Ostroff would neither confirm nor deny.

Exclusive: Updates on Life Unexpected,One Tree Hill and Melrose Place’s statuses

According to our contacts at the CW things are looking much darker for Life Unexpected which has gone from 50/50 to highly unlikely to return. This does not however mean that things are much brighter for One Tree Hill which is still very much on the bubble – though it is more likely to be renewed than LUX at this point despite being so much more expensive. Due to it’s costs it is also unlikely to move to SOAPNET if the CW were to cancel it. The problem at the CW is with all their renewals they only plan on picking up 3 to 4 of HMS, BETWIXT, Nikita, Nomads,Untitled horse farm drama, Hellcats, One Tree Hill and Melrose Place (which is considered pretty much dead at this point). The success of High Society could also make things even more competitive. At this point don’t be surprised if come May, the CW doesn’t renew anything else and just picks up 3 to 4 pilots.

One Tree Hill – Season 7 – Haley’s Sister Spoilers Are Revealed

Korbi Ghosh from Zap2it got talk with one of the new girls, Shantel VanSanten who will be appearing on the upcoming 7th season of CW’s “One Tree Hill” as Haley’s sister who is a photographer. Shantel spoke a bit about how her and Haley’s relationship will be on the show.

She said, “yes, I play Haley’s older sister. I’m a photographer. And I think we both have that artistic side. Her being a singer, we have that same mentality in common and I think we’ve always been close for that reason.

But I got married when I was younger, so I have a whole other relationship and whole other life. I come back to Tree Hill just like a lot of people go home to kind of figure life out. And I think that Haley becomes my best friend, the person that I would call about everything.”

She then commented on how her character will allow us to see a different side of Haley that we’ve never seen before. She stated,“Yeah, I think that it’s fun to bring Haley’s sister in, because you end up seeing a different side of Haley.

You know what I mean? You’ll see different things you maybe wouldn’t have seen before because her sister’s around and there’s that sister bond and you tell each other secrets and expose things you wouldn’t have otherwise.

Me and my own sister are so close and Joy talked to me about it, she wanted to know what my relationship with her was like and we discussed little ticks that sisters have and it’s really been awesome. She’s awesome to work with.”

Next, Shantel shares how she arrives in town, and what her reasons are for coming. She said, ”I come for Jamie’s birthday. But I think when you’re in your 20s, you go through stuff. Is my life going in the right direction? Am I doing the right thing? Is this what I want for the rest of my life, with everything, you question your job, your love life. So I think maybe she comes to town trying to figure some things out and through her relationship with her sister and everybody else in Tree Hill, hopefully she’ll find the answers.”

She also talks about collaborating with Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) on the show. She said, “I get to collaborate with Sophia’s character Brooke, because she has a clothing line. There are a lot of relationships that she gets to come back to and be a part of that world.”

Then Mark Schwahn, one of the show’s writers jumped in and commented on if Haley’s sister might have a love interest on the show even though she’s married. He said, “I’ve never endorsed that. But, having said that, if issues arise in her marriage, then that is interesting to me. If someone is genuinely not happy in their marriage, when is it okay to start looking elsewhere?

I don’t know if that’s necessarily the road we’ll go down with Shantel’s character, Quinn, but as a storyline and as drama for the show, I think that’s interesting. “

The 7th season of “One Tree Hill” is set to premiere Monday September 14,2009 at 7pm central time on the CW.

One Tree Hill – Casting News

Although Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton) and Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) no longer call Tree Hill, North Carolina home, Peyton’s fledgling record label will remain open for business when the prime time drama returns to The CW this fall.

Creator Mark Schwahn tells TVGuideMagazine.com that India de Beaufort will join the cast as Miranda Stone, “a smart, successful record executive who has been sent to Tree Hill to oversee the day to day operations of boutique label Red Bedroom Records.” Beaufort is the latest in a long line of new actors including Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten and Jana Kramer to round out the cast for Season 7.

One Tree Hill – Casting News

A One Tree Hill rep is now confirming what I first hinted at in Ask Ausiello: The bitch is back! Danneel Harris has closed a deal to reprise her role as pot-stirrer Rachel Gatina in at least seven episodes next season, beginning with eppy 7.02. Harris made her Tree Hill debut as Brooke’s high school nemesis in season 3 but wasn’t made a series regular until season 4. She was written out in season 5 after only a handful of episodes, an apparent victim of the show’s four-year flash forward.

In other Tree Hill news, the last of next season’s new contract roles has gone to Nuevo 90210 grad Jana Kramer. She’ll play Alexis, a model who becomes the new face of Brooke’s clothing line. As previously reported, Lipstick Jungle’s Robert Buckley and relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten are also joining the cast as Nathan’s sports agent and Haley’s sister Source: EW

Who are they casting as Alexis on One Tree Hill? No one has snagged that role yet. Alexis doesn’t appear in the first episode of One Tree Hill season seven, so producers are takin’ their time to find the right person. Source: Kristin on E!Online

Do you know if One Tree Hill plans to cast an African-American or other minority in any of the roles being added? MATT: Thus far, you’re 0-for-2 on that wish, seeing as Robert Buckley and Shantel VanSanten have been cast as Nathan’s agent and Haley’s sister, Quinn, respectively. As for “Alex” (the supermodel fronting Brooke’s new clothing line), Tree Hill is looking at “all ethnicities,” so there’s some hope there. For what’s it worth, I can offer up this concrete piece of guest casting: NFL legend Jerry Rice will appear as himself in the Sept. 14 season opener. Source: TV Guide Online

Shantel-VanSanten_l One Tree Hill‘s post Peyton-Lucas makeover continues: Sources confirm to me exclusively that relative newcomer Shantel VanSanten has been tapped to play the series regular role of Quinn, one of Haley’s free-spirited older sisters. The character comes to Tree Hill with a wounded heart and in search of someone new to shag something new. VanSanten, who will be seen in the upcoming Final Destination reboot, joins fellow Tree Hill virgin Robert Buckley as the newest additions to the show’s cast. The Lipstick Jungle hottie is playing Nathan’s sports agent.

Lipstick Jungle‘s Robert Buckley Moves to Tree Hill

Robert Buckley, who famously played Kim Raver’s Lipstick Jungle boy toy and subsequently did a turn on Privileged, will resurface this fall on the CW’s One Tree Hill. Buckley will play Clayton, the sports agent who takes on NBA-bound Nathan as a client and friend, says the Hollywood Reporter. Brian Austin Green was until recently eyed for this series regular role, but ultimately a deal could not be worked out. Buckley’s Tree Hill gig stems from a holding deal he had with Privileged producer Warner Bros. TV.

One Tree Hill is adding three new characters for Season 7, as the show moves on without longtime leads Hilarie Burton and Chad Michael Murray. The two characters remaining to be cast are Haley’s sister, Quinn, and a supermodel who goes to work for Brooke.

Brianaustingreen Though Brian Austin Green was reported to be in advanced talks to join The CW’s “One Tree Hill” earlier this week, sources close to the production tells me the man — whom I prefer to call “David Silver” — has passed on the part. Word is, The CW made B.A.G. a very healthy offer — I’m hearing $75 Gs an episode… which is what Chad Michael Murray was making, by the way — but Green ultimately decided “OTH” wasn’t for him. Hey, maybe it’s because he’s still holding out hope for a midseason “Body Politic” pick up!

I must confess, I’m kind of loving the idea of Brian Austin Green on One Tree Hill. Ausiello: Well, I hope you don’t love it too much, because I’m hearing the deal may be unraveling. Word is Green’s reps got spooked by the negative spin some bloggers were putting on their client doing OTH. As a result, they may be getting cold feet. Personally, I can’t see Green walking away from a gig that could potentially fetch him north of $1.5 million. Of course, that’s the same figure Chad Michael Murray said no to, so who knows? In their defense, $75K a week — after taxes and agency fees — does not go very far these days. Source: The Ausiello Files

Brian Austin Green Coming to ‘One Tree Hill’ as Sports Agent

Named Clayton, Brian Austin Green’s character is enjoying the spoils that come from being a wealthy, handsome single guy.

There is a chance that will be climbing to “” as a regular in the seventh season. He is slated to take the role of Clayton, a “young and brash” sports agent who represents Nathan’s basketball interest. The casting news is not yet formally announced by The CW or the execs but sources are telling EW that “they’re ironing out a few issues, but it’s pretty much a done deal.” This has been considered as a move which is apt to compensate the lost of two lovable actors in the series, and . More about Clayton, the character is in his 20s, and is described in the casting call as “fiercely protective” of Nathan. However, Clayton will not be the only newbie in the series for the show was also casting Haley’s older sister named Quinn and a model for Brooke’s clothing line, Alexis. Brian Austin Green was Derek Reese in “” until the show got canceled by FOX due to mild rating. He was then signed as the lead of The CW’s “The Body Politic” but the drama does not make it to the Fall 2009 schedule.

One Tree Hill – Exclusive first look at Season 7 New Characters

Here is the first casting call for Season 7 of One Tree Hill. Filming will begin on 17th June currently.

Mid to late 20s, very pretty. One of Haley’s older sisters, Quinn is a free spirit but can also be dependable and kind. [ALEXIS]
20s, gorgeous. Alexis is a model/actress and the new face of Brooke’s clothing line. Alexis is an adrenaline junkie and a bit of a diva who is used to getting her way. Book smart and street wise, Alexis uses her wiles to navigate the sometimes treacherous waters of her profession. She has also never met a party she didn’t like, a habit that may inhibit or accelerate her transition from model to actress, depending on who crosses her path sptv050769. PLEASE SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES…SERIES REGULAR.

[CLAYTON]
Late 20s, handsome. A young and brash sports agent who represents Nathan Scott’s basketball interests, Clayton is a rising star at his agency and has become a close friend, ally, business partner and advisor to Nathan. MATT: Alas, in the days since you sent in this question, the CW confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for Season 7. One Tree Hill Season Finale Recap 6.24 ‘Remember Me As A Time Of Day’

‘One Tree Hill’ Finale: Blasts from the past

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

One Tree Hill” wrapped up its sixth season tonight with an episode full of heartache, triumph, attempted redemption and a slew of very welcome old faces.

The show starts out with a montage of doom that picks up the events of the end of the last episode. It is perfectly set to a tune I do not know the title or artist of, but is quite awesome and perfectly sets the tone of the proceedings. I have to say, this show excels at the montage of doom, probably because no dialogue is involved. Pretty soon, though, dialogue must ensue, this time in the form of Lucas talking to Peyton’s post-surgery, unconscious body. Thankfully, the drama doesn’t last long because Peyton wakes up just in time to name their baby Sawyer. Sawyer Scott. That sort of sounds like an SEC quarterback, but they live in North Carolina. I’ll go with it. I am making fun, but it’s all quite happy and cute, especially when the whole gang (including KAREN!) greets Peyton in her hospital room. It’s good to see Karen again.

Julian stays in Tree Hill to take care of Brooke while Peyton is in the hospital and ends up “taking care of Brooke” if you know what I mean, and I think you do. Strangely, however, although Julian talks about wanting to be with Brooke so bad he leaves the next morning without saying anything. Victoria sees how much Brooke and Julian love each other and finally gives Brooke some sound advice to go after Julian if he is what she wants. Then she gives Brooke back her company and admits to being a horrible parent, and even apologizes and says she loves her! It’s like Bizarro World! Brooke tells Victoria she would like her to stay on and run the company from New York. Brooke ends up taking her mother’s advice and goes to Julian, tells him she loves him, and kisses him. Aw.

Peyton and Lucas aren’t the only ones getting great news this week, as Nathan learns he has just been called up to the NBA to play point guard for the Charlotte Bobcats. Good on ya, Nathan. And so conveniently close to Tree Hill!

After going AWOL for weeks, Dan shows up this week…to visit WHITEY! Man, I thought I was excited to see Karen until I saw Whitey. Whitey rocks, especially when his hospitality to Dan includes sandwich cookies and a revolver on the table to murder Dan with “in self defense.” Hee. Dan’s visit is apparently to clear his conscience, as he apologizes to Whitey for that day many years ago when he refused to play in the state championship, which is the day he figures everything in his life went wrong. He also actually apologizes to Whitey for killing Keith, although that apology would probably be better suited for Karen. Or Lucas. Or Nathan. Hell, or Lily. But whatever. Dan then begs Whitey to kill him, but instead Whitey hugs him and tells him Dan is still alive to gain redemption. Boo. I wanted bloodshed! Instead Dan goes to meet little Sawyer and Peyton lets him hold her.

Also in this episode: Millie decides to stay in Tree Hill to be with Mouth and Mia’s album is being released.

Random thoughts:

  • I still love Dan’s giant headstone. I especially love when Dan visits and stares at it longingly, like he did tonight.
  • Does anyone think it’s strange that Karen couldn’t show up for the wedding (which was yesterday) but has no problem getting to Tree Hill to be in the hospital? It’s like “I will only show up for an emergency, and Lucas’ second wedding totally doesn’t count.”
  • The moment when Jamie found out about Nathan’s promotion via Mouth’s news story was really, really cute.
  • Have Karen and Dan met face-to-face like that since Dan killed Keith? I know she went to see him in jail (and awesomely spit on the window), but I don’t remember if they’ve met in a casual setting until tonight.
  • They played a Kate York song! Kate’s a fellow Nashvillian and very, very talented. Check out her stuff, you won’t be disappointed.
  • Nathan’s Bobcats intro was awesome. Jumbotron!
  • The show ends with Lucas, Peyton and Sawyer driving off in the restored Comet. Seeing as Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton aren’t returning next year, this seems like kind of a lame goodbye.

‘One Tree Hill’: Happy endings all around in the season ender

Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

There’s been a lot of “One Tree Hill” talk this week, what with the departures of Hilarie Burton (Peyton) and Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) confirmed, however the season finale is still ahead of us and we haven’t touched too much on that. The ironic thing about Monday’s hour? While we’re accustomed to dramatic Tree Hill cliffhangers with loves and lives left in danger, this year, all your favorite Tree Hill characters live happily ever after. Perhaps with all the real life “OTH” drama going down, creator Mark Schwahn just felt like writing a few feel-good stories.  And, if you are a true fan of the show, I think you will feel good when you watch next week. With the exception of Dan Scott — who goes to visit Whitey during the episode — everyone’s future is looking bright right about now. Everyone’s… Lucas and Peyton’s, Brooke and Julian’s, Mouth and Millicent’s, Mia and Chase’s, Haley and Nathan’s. Yeah, Nathan turns a real corner on Monday, which had me tearing up and I think you will too because it’s a long time coming. Oh, even Victoria gets a happy ending. And we get a happy ending too, because Austin Nichol (Julian) will return to Tree Hill full time in the fall…

Hilarie Burton Reveals Truth Behind ‘One Tree Hill’ Departure

Source: Ace Showbiz TV News
In an interview with EW, the Peyton of ‘One Tree Hill’ said that every decision was made based on goodness and that she and Chad Michael Murray face it as grown-ups.

Hilarie Burton Reveals Truth Behind 'One Tree Hill' Departure See larger image The dismissal of Peyton and Lucas from “” after 6 years of running had set up a roar among fans of the show. But here to provide the truth as well as some insights regarding the reason behind their characters’ exit is Peyton’s depicter herself, .
In an exclusive interview with EW, Hilarie wanted to deliver the message that she would never say bad words about “One Tree Hill” and that the decision was based on “adults being good to each other and being kind”. She elaborated, “I think everyone was kind of agreeable about the situation. There were a lot of really wonderful conversations. It wasn’t a rash decision; a lot of thought, emotion, and kindness was put into it.” When asked about the truth, Hilarie responded “There really wasn’t a lot of turmoil. It was a fabulous six-year run, which is how long my contract was for, and I feel really lucky to have been a part of the show. So when I hear that there’s turmoil or negotiations based on money it kind of hurts my feelings, because it’s not what’s been going on at all.”

In February this year, Hilarie had posted a video message where she was chocking up in tears in and said that she wished she has creative control over what was going on. Explaining her purpose in posting the video, she said that it was “to dispel the rumors that were being circulated. …People even back then were blaming it on money, and [on me] being high maintenance… Those rumors were really hurtful.” Warning! The excerpts below may contain spoilers to the May 18 season finale where Peyton and Lucas take a final bow. Speaking of her last day on the set she said, “We wrapped together. We were the last two in the last scene, and we opened up a tab across the street for our crew to say thank you and cried a bunch.” Additionally, Hilarie mentioned that she is open to re-appearance because the writers “didn’t kill” Peyton or Lucas. Hilarie is looking forward to new shows while working on a undisclosed webseries that will start shooting on Memorial Day.

Question: Bummed about Chad and Hilarie leaving One Tree Hill. At least tell me Lucas and Peyton get a proper sendoff in Monday’s finale.  Ausiello: According to EW’s Jennifer Armstrong, who screened the finale yesterday, Leyton “definitely comes to a natural resting place that feels right for them and ties up their story nicely; however, they do not get an actual sendoff of any kind.” Speaking of Chad and Hilarie’s exit, in the very near future I’ll be posting something every Tree Hill fan will want to read. Trust me. Source: The Ausiello Files

Question: Give me something about the One Tree Hill finale!
Ausiello:
What else you got, Armstrong? “Brooke finally gets two things she’s long wanted, we find out the fate of Peyton and the baby, and Whitey (the retired HS basketball coach) and Karen (Lucas’ mom, played by Moira Kelly) appear.” Thanks for ID’ing those last two JA, ’cause I wouldn’t of had a clue who you were talking about. Still don’t, in fact. Source: The Ausiello Files

Question: Give us scoop on the new characters that will be joining One Tree Hill next season.  Ausiello: The three new faces include: Quinn, Haley’s free-spirited, strong-willed older sister; Alexis, a model-actress-crazy bitch in her 20s who Brooke hires to be the new face of her clothing line; and Clayton, a young and brash sports agent who takes on Nathan as a client. EXCLUSIVE Hilarie Burton on ‘Tree Hill’ exit: ‘It wasn’t a rash decision’

Source: The Ausiello Files

Hilarieburton2_lDid you hear? After six years of angst, heartache, and more angst, Hilarie Burton will make her final appearance as Lucas-lovin’ music mogul Peyton Sawyer on Monday’s season finale of One Tree Hill. (Her leading man, Chad Michael Murray, will bid farewell in the same episode.) On the eve of her swan song, the onetime TRL hostess is setting the record straight about the reason behind her departure, the “hurtful” rumors that precipitated it, and a certain video that left many of her fans going, “Whatchoo talkin’ ’bout, Ms. Hilarie? (Warning: Potential spoilers about Monday’s finale below.)

There are a lot of rumors flying about why you’re leaving. What’s the truth?
HILARIE BURTON:
There really wasn’t a lot of turmoil. It was a fabulous six-year run, which is how long my contract was for, and I feel really lucky to have been a part of the show. So when I hear that there’s turmoil or negotiations based on money it kind of hurts my feelings, because it’s not what’s been going on at all. I think my fan base in particular knows that money isn’t necessarily a big motivator for me, that’s why I work in the world of independent film.

How long have you known that you were leaving?
BURTON:
I’ve known for a little while. For me, it was definitely an emotional decision. And a professional decision as well. I got really, really lucky. One Tree Hill was my very first television audition; it was a fairytale. I feel really lucky to have that level of success right out of the gate.

Just so I’m clear, it was your decision to leave, not the other way around?
BURTON:
I think everyone was kind of agreeable about the situation. There were a lot of really wonderful conversations. It wasn’t a rash decision; a lot of thought, emotion, and kindness was put into it. I would hope that that‘s the story that gets out — that it was a bunch of adults being good to each other and being kind about the decision-making process.

Did The Powers That Be make a concerted effort to get you to re-sign?
BURTON:
The conversations that they had with me were very compassionate and very sweet. They told me that they valued me, and that meant a lot. And they also wanted me to be happy and challenged and excited. There was some confusion for a little bit as to what was going on, but I think everybody’s in a good place now.

Talk to me about the video message you made for your fans back in February. It seemed like you were maybe saying good-bye. What point were you trying to get across?
BURTON:
The purpose of that video was to dispel the rumors that were being circulated. I was on your end of it for a very long time when I worked at MTV, and I understand how the rumor mill works. Everybody wants a sensational story. People even back then were blaming it on money, and [on me] being high maintenance… Those rumors were really hurtful. Of anybody on the show, I was the one who was very excited about doing all the extracurricular stuff — the mall tours, the radio tours, going to the upfronts…  I loved my involvement with this show, and I really just wanted my fan base to know that I wasn’t turning my nose up at this wonderful opportunity I’ve had for the last six years. There’s an ugly trend where actors think they’ve surpassed the show that made them or the film that made them and badmouth it. I will never say a bad word about One Tree Hill. The entire shape of my world changed because of that show, so I’ll always be very affectionate toward it.

Have you spoken to Chad recently?
BURTON:
I was in L.A. last week and we talked. Chad and I are good friends. I won’t speak for him, but it was not a rash decision on either of our parts. He’s very compassionate toward the show and the fans. It’s not an easy decision, but we’ve got to be grown-ups sometimes. [CMM’s rep declined my interview request, saying, “Chad is no longer on the show and has no comment regarding the new season.”]

What was your last day on the set like?
BURTON:
We wrapped together. We were the last two in the last scene, and we opened up a tab across the street for our crew to say thank you and cried a bunch.

Lucas and Peyton don’t really get an official sendoff next week. Is that disappointing?
BURTON:
It’s like when you leave for college but you know your parents still have your bedroom set up. You never know if you’re going to have to come home… I got really lucky with my character; I got a full-circle story. It was, “Lucas and Peyton: Are they going to be together? Are they not going to be together?” And as we saw in this week’s episode, my character got everything she ever wanted.

Might you make the occasional guest appearance?
BURTON:
Never say never. They didn’t kill us. There’s nothing vengeful about it, and I think that’s because as much as we love them, they love us back.

What are you going to do now?
BURTON:
One Tree Hill was a great learning opportunity for me, and I’m excited to go and apply that elsewhere and see where I end up. I’m hoping the fans support whatever my next endeavor is. I’m actually curious what they want me to do… On the blog that I have for my production company, we’re producing a web series that we’re going to start shooting on Memorial Day. We’ve also got a television show that we’re turning into a graphic novel, and we’ve got a film we’re raising money for. I’m busy. And I’m keeping my business down in North Carolina. I’m still going to be in the neighborhood; it’ll just be in a different capacity.

Last question, and it’s a biggie: What happens to Peyton’s record company?
BURTON:
Who knows? Maybe she’ll take it with her. I get to be a fan of the show now, which is cool. I get to sit back and be a fan. I’m personally very excited to see where it goes. I understand they’re introducing some new characters… I have no doubt they will come up with something to reinvent the show yet again.

His on-screen wife, Peyton, is not included in the next season’s story and thus is also out from the picture. The CW has confirmed the departures of the two actors to several media outlets, but no formal reason has been given. The characters got married on the Monday, May 11 episode but pregnant Peyton is wheeled to the ER on the next week’s episode. Fans of the show will be able to watch Chad and Hilarie, who have been in the show for 6 years, for the last time on the season finale that airs May 18. Additionally, The CW said that they will compensate the loss with two new characters, which details have not been elaborated further. Austin Nichols, who plays Julian, is also promoted as a regular. The rumors of Chad and Hilarie leaving the show erupted for the first time in late February when Hilarie posted an emotional video message to fans, saying “…I wish I had creative control over the show, and I don’t. But if I did, it would go on for a million years, and Peyton Sawyer would cry for you all the time – because she does that.” Few weeks later Chad, captured by a fan’s video during autograph signing, said “They don’t want me. I’m not joking” before then encouraging that fans “should do online, is start blogging and being pissed off that they don’t want that.” Although involved in a negotiation later on, Chad mentioned that the show wanted to save money.

Onetreehillwedding_l It looks like One Tree Hill newlyweds Peyton and Lucas are about to embark on a permanent honeymoon. Sources confirm that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, whose characters tied the knot in last night’s penultimate episode, will not be returning for the show’s seventh season next fall. The CW is expected to formally announce their departures next Thursday at its upfront presentation.  Murray and Burton have been engaged in rather high-profile contract negotiations for the past several months. Ultimately, a deal couldn’t be worked out and both actors will make their final appearances in next Monday’s season finale. To fill the void next season, a Hill insider tells me that two new characters will be introduced. Additionally, Austin Nichols (Julian) is being promoted to a series regular. What say you, Tree Hill fans? Pumped for OTH 2.0? Too upset to even think about it? Let loose in the comments section.

The CW has given a nod to the departures of two actors playing Lucas and Peyton on ‘One Tree Hill’, and said that 2 new cast will be introduced in the seventh season.

Confirmed: Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton Exit 'One Tree Hill'See larger image The media have been reporting that is a goner from “” but apparently one more is leaving the show.

One Tree Hill Episode Recap 6.23 ‘Forever and Almost Always’

‘One Tree Hill’: Love, marriage and Nick Lachey

Source: Zap2it.com Recaps

My Tivo’s description of this week’s “One Tree Hill” promised “unexpected guests” at Lucas and Peyton’s wedding. This made me excited, picturing long-lost cast members like Karen, Deb, Whitey and even Dan. Who do we get instead? Julian, and…Nick Lachey. Yippee.

It’s wedding day for Peyton and Lucas, and it looks like they’re getting married without either of their parents in attendance. Just like their childhoods! (Aw, just kidding Karen. You were an actual parent. Larry and Dan, on the other hand…) Also MIA is their officiant, so Haley steps in, gets ordained online and does the ceremony herself. After a few glitches at the beginning things go beautifully (to match the beautiful lakeside setting) and Luke and Peyton finally make it official. Things can’t go too beautifully, of course, so at the end of the night when Lucas goes to get the restored Comet ready to show Peyton, her placenta previa strikes and he comes back into the house to find her passed out and bleeding on the floor. Will she be OK? I guess we have to tune in next week to find out!

In other news, Julian shows up to the wedding…with the actress who was supposed to play Brooke in the movie as his date. That’s creepy, Julian. Brooke loses it and her freak out leads her to find Nick Lachey in Peyton’s recording studio, force him to put on a tux and be her date for the night. Is bringing Nick Lachey a status symbol? Because my friends probably wouldn’t think so. It certainly makes Julian jealous, though, so mission accomplished Ms. Davis. After their dates disperse at the end of the ceremony they share a nice moment together and Brooke even admits she misses Julian before running away. Is there hope for those crazy kids? I’m thinking…yes.

Nathan is having a bad day of his own, as he found out that his fellow Chiefs player got the call to join the Clippers and not him. It puts a damper on his whole day until Haley takes him backstage during the reception for a little slutty wedding sex to cheer him up. Married people are hot! Especially when they take off their shirts. Thank you, James Lafferty.

Also in this episode: Mia and CHASE! are still sweating Mia’s revelation that he lost his virginity to Brooke (and I still do not care), Mouth and Millie are still going strong, and Skills is still with Jamie’s teacher.

One Tree Hill: Episode Recap 6.21 “A Kiss to Build a Dream On”

Previously on One Tree Hill: Victoria Davis returned acting suspiciously nice, Mouth and Millie returned to a life of monotonous monogamy, Skills returned to the dating pool with his eyes set on Jamie’s teacher Miss Lauren, and Peyton returned home from the hospital safe and sound. But more importantly, Nick Lachey comes to Tree Hill!  Peyton’s hormones are in overdrive, making her absolutely insane on bed rest.  Brooke is also being driven crazy by her mother Victoria’s newfound niceness towards Sam.  Crazy women come in threes, because Haley is also a bit frazzled upon learning that the music label is interesting in buying one of her songs for another artist.

Victoria’s manipulation is in full effect as she compliments her daughter, threatens vendors and shreds a letter Sam received in the mail.  Against Brooke’s advice, Sam and Victoria bond over their mutual honesty.  Victoria defends Mia’s shoplifting past while Sam asks point blank why Victoria is such a bitch.  It’s not quite as great a pair as Sam and Julian, but it’s close.

Brooke finds the half-shredded letter, which is from Sam’s birth mother wanting to reconnect.  Victoria did it to protect Sam and keep her with them, but Brooke is angry.  She takes the letter to Sam, but Sam doesn’t want the letter.  Sam is one tough cookie and is still angry that her birth mother gave up on her.  In order to get over her anger, Sam agrees to go back to the coffee shop and finally confronts her real mother.

While fixing up the Comet, Lucas finds ticket stubs to the Cure concert he and Peyton went to after graduation while Brooke was busy giving Chase the best 60 seconds of his life.  The flashbacks continue as Peyton reveals she was the one who sent Lucas’ book to publishers in New York City.

Flashback world also features the two stopping at a diner for lunch.  Lucas fakes a dine and dash as a joke for Peyton, but in the process he drops his ticket on the ground.  So the two don’t make it into the concert, but they spend their last night together snuggling on the hood of the Comet talking about all the babies they plan to make together….READ FULL RECAP

One Tree Hill Season Finale Spoilers & Promos

Will One Tree Hill‘s “Leyton” be back next season with mini Leyton? MATT: Alas, in the days since you sent in this question, the CW confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for Season 7. The silver lining is that the actors’ final outing is a solid one. TVGuide.com’s Robyn Ross, who screened the May 18 season finale, reports that the hour “wraps things up in a little bow with no shockers to leave us hanging. Old faces were back, and dreams were truly realized. Perhaps it could’ve served better as a series finale, because I’d love to think this is the way these stories would have ended.” Source: TV Guide Online

One Tree Hill Episode Recap: 6.19 “Letting Go”

One Tree HillPreviously on One Tree Hill: A dog ate Dan’s heart, so he gave up on trying to get a new one.  Haley quit her job and Lucas’ movie went belly-up, causing the posible end to Julian and Brooke’s romance.  Jack moved in with Brooke and Sam while Deb dumped Skills.

Lucas has nightmares about Peyton’s health, but he’s woken up by Nathan, wanting to go play some basketball at the River Court. Jamie scores a ton of baskets as Nathan complains about how hard being a dad is because Jamie’s asking questions about Keith.
Once again, Nathan does everything he possibly can to avoid being a real dad by asking Lucas to talk to Jamie for him. For the past few episodes, Nathan has done everything he can to avoid hanging out with Jamie. Did he accidentally run over Chester with the car?

The three Scott boys visit Keith’s old auto shop. Jamie runs around like a kid in a candy shop without any supervision. The three chat about girls, and Lucas outs Nathan for manipulating Haley in order to get her to go out with him. Nathan mocks Jamie’s crush on his teacher, but the conversation really comes to an end when Jamie asks what happened to Aunt Lindsey.

Jamie puts on some grease facial hair to resemble a baby Keith. The poor parenting decisions pile up when they let Jamie get behind the wheel of the car to start it up. Their night ends with Jamie asking the truly hard question: is it OK for him to still care about Grandpa Dan even though he killed Keith?

Lucas says it is before Jamie delivers the metaphor of the night. He likes the auto shop because it’s a place where you bring something that’s broken and it gets fixed. That anvil pounding you over the head is this week’s script…..READ FULL RECAP AT BUDDY TV

Can you shed any light on this hectic One Tree Hill situation?
Despite Chad Michael Murray‘s claim that, “They haven’t even called me up to say, ‘Hey we want you back…nothing,’ ” CMM’s people are in negotiations with the One Tree Hill studio. Sounds like we can all brace ourselves for a cliffhanger ending to season six. Source: Kristin on E!Online

The rumblings about Chad Michael Murray leaving One Tree Hill are not surprising. But please tell me the CW is not foolish enough to let Hilarie Burton leave, too.

Is ‘One Tree Hill’s’ Chad Michael Murray just holding out for more cash?

By now, all web savvy “One Tree Hill” fans have seen the YouTube video shot by a fellow viewer in which series star Chad Michael Murray claims that he’s not returning to the show next year because “they don’t want me… they wanna save money.” If not, you can watch it below. In the video, Chad also encourages fans to go online to “blog and be pissed off that they don’t want me back.” The “they” he refers to is of course assumed to be the network, the studio and/or the series’ producers. This comes less than a month after CMM’s costar Hilarie Burton posted her own cryptic online clip which seemed to confirm that she too will be absent from “One Tree Hill”‘s seventh season. The notion that Murray and Burton are not a lock for the show next year is no surprise to those who have been following the saga. Even before the aforementioned videos were posted, rumors of their departure ran rampant across the web. However, sources close to “One Tree Hill” say the stars’ situation is not settled as of now. The network and studio have declined to comment on any of the Murray/Burton drama, but insiders tell me negotiations with Hilarie and Chad are still ongoing and that the video below is just another example of an actor reaching out to the press with the hope of gaining additional bargaining power. Is Chad Michael Murray Being Forced Out of One Tree Hill?

Source: Kristin @ E!Online

YouTubers in the Carolinas caught One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray telling fans some shocking tidbits about his future on the CW’s hit drama, including (gasp!), “I won’t be back.”

Other jaw-dropping statements from the footage included:

  • “They don’t want me…I’m not joking.”
  • “See, this is what all the fans should do online, is start blogging and being pissed off that they don’t want that. That’s what they should do.”
  • “They’re not bringing me back next year…because they want to save money.”
  • “This is actually the last scene we’re shooting, right now. Shh…”

The CW has already picked up One Tree Hill for a seventh season, but which castmembers will return remains an open question. Does this mean Murray is definitely out as Lucas Scott? Sure seems like it, but we’re working now to get you the official word from the network, studio and Murray’s reps. Meanwhile, what do you think of this video? Do you trust his off-the-cuff words to fans, or are you waiting for an official announcement? Do you think “they” shafted CMM? Will you watch without him? Post in the comments!

One Tree Hill: Episode 6.17 “You and Me and the Bottle Makes Three Tonight” Recap

Hilarie Burton, One Tree HillWelcome back!  One Tree Hill returns after a very long hiatus that saw the show get picked up for a seventh season and rumors that said season 7 would NOT include Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.  So soak up every last moment of Leyton action that you can.
