Privileged Spoilers & News: Charlie’s Leaving the Show!

Exclusive: Michael Cassidy no longer ‘Privileged’

by Michael Ausiello, EW

Privilegedjoann_dlSorry, Charlie-Megan fans, it looks like it’s the end of the road for Privileged‘s unrequited duo.

Michael Cassidy, a.k.a. the Dawson to Joanna Garcia’s Joey, is departing the show for reasons both creative and budgetary. He’ll make his final appearance in this season’s 15th episode when Charlie decides to go back to college.

“Charlie will be leaving town,” confirms series creator Rina Mimoun, “but not until some hot and heavy kissing goes down.”

Mimoun isn’t spilling who Chuckles will be heading to first base with, but, c’mon, read between the lines, people. She does reveal that the door has definitely been left open for Cassidy (whom she calls “a prince”) to return next season — assuming there is a next season.

“Right now, I’m more concerned about Privileged returning for a second season than just Charlie,” Mimoun confesses. “If everyone wants both, then I think we have a shot!”

Privileged‘s recent Monday “test drive” behind Gossip Girl yielded promising results; the show notched double-digit gains over its Tuesday average. Still, the underrated charmer is by no means a shoo-in for renewal, which brings us back to the question posed by Mimoun: Do you want to see Privileged back next season? And, if so, would a season 2 have to include Charlie — at least in some capacity? Cast your votes below.

P.S. Cassidy is not this person.

Grey’s Anatomy News: Chyler Leigh Is Pregnant; Is Lexie, Too?

Grey’s Star Chyler Leigh Is Pregnant; Is Lexie, Too?

by Gina DiNunno, TV Guide

Chyler Leigh

Looks like “Little Grey” is having another little one of her own.

Chyler Leigh, who plays Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) half-sister Lexie on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, is pregnant, her reps confirm to TVGuide.com.

No word yet on gender or due date, but the new addition will be the 26-year-old actress’ third child with actor/musician hubby Nathan West.

An ABC insider tells TVGuide.com that there are no plans to write Leigh’s pregnancy into Lexie’s storyline. (Sorry, Mark!)

— The pregnancy should definitely be written into the storyline, it would be an exciting an actually story between Lexie and Mark and the ramification it would have on Meredith’s life and her own relationship with Derek. It is a perfect opportunity they will unfortunately ignore, though fans are quite warm to the idea!

Leigh’s other credits include the short-lived series Reunion and That ’80s Show, as well as Not Another Teen Movie.

Do you think Leigh’s pregnancy should be written into Grey‘s, or should the producers stick with strategic camera angles as a work-around?

Brothers & Sisters Spoilers & News: Is Balthazar Getty Leaving the Show for Good?

Scoop: Is ‘Brothers & Sisters’ disowning Balthazar Getty?

by Michael Ausiello, EW

Balthazargetty_l I smell fresh Emmy material for Brothers & Sisters matriarch Sally Field.

According to sources, Balthazar Getty, who plays the Oscar winner’s eldest son, was informed last week that producers were not planning on picking up his option as a full-time series regular next season. However, that doesn’t mean that Tommy’s place setting at the Walker dinner table is being permanently removed. Not yet, anyway. Per a B&S source, Getty is currently in talks with the show to stay on in a reduced capacity, perhaps as a recurring guest star.

While a rep for the show declined to comment, Getty’s spokesperson denies that the actor is leaving.

Rumors about Getty’s possible exit have been grist for the gossip mill for months. The actor’s real-life drama — the collapse of his marriage and ensuing tabloid-ready romance with Sienna Miller — has allegedly alienated him from his co-stars, many of who had grown close to his wife, Rosetta, and their four young children. What’s more, according to E! Online‘s Marc Malkin, Getty has been showing up late for work and proving increasingly “difficult” to work with.

But per multiple sources, Getty’s sorta-departure is not the result of any one issue but a combination of factors that also includes budgetary and storyline considerations. Tommy has long been considered the most disposable of B&S‘s siblings. Removing him, at least as a regular presence, frees up the show to introduce some new blood.

In any case, don’t expect Tommy to exit by way of a casket. Although an ABC insider says the idea of killing off a Walker has been discussed, the network would likely view such a twist as “too morbid.” As a result, Tommy is likely to either relocate with his wife and baby, or just drift into the background and reappear for the occasional disastrous dinner party.

What do you think? Is Tommy an integral part of B&S? Or will you not even notice if he’s missing? Also, could Getty be the subject of a certain blind item (tee-hee)?

New Gossip Girl Spoilers, Photos & Previews! Aaron Rose is Not Returning!!!

Aaron Rose has gone to Argentina…and he’s never coming back to Gossip Girl!

Yep, it’s true: The CW confirms that the Dec. 8 episode was the last we’ll see of John Patrick Amedori, who plays Serena’s creepy boy-toy artist Aaron (a character who wasn’t well received by many of the fans).

[Pause for happy dance.]

So why is he off the show? And does this mean Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan (Penn Badgley) are getting back together? Read on for the exclusive dish…

“Aaron Rose was a big character in the Gossip Girl books, and I know the plan was for him to stay around a little longer,” a source close to the show tells me. “But some of the powers that be weren’t responding well to the way the character was going.” And so, he is gone.

Sadly for you Derena partisans, the departure of Aaron Rose does not mean Serena and Dan are finally settling down. Jessica Szohr tells E! exclusively that over the next few episodes, “Serena and Dan are running in circles with their relationship.” (Same as it ever was!)

And as I told you in the spoiler chat, just as Serena is freed up, Dan will become entangled with a new lady. Sources whisper that Laura Breckenridge (Related) will be joining Gossip Girl as a hot new teacher who flirts with Dan and tortures Blair.

So what do you think? Good news that Aaron is gone? Do you want to keep his adorkable dad, Cyrus (Wallace Shawn), or have you had it with the whole Rose clan? Post in the comments!

Can you tell me some info about what will happen during next season’s Greek?
Matt: Hopefully you caught my recent Q&A with Scott Michael Foster (no relation to Chad Michael Murray), who revealed some of what’s to come for Cappie. Also see if this floats your boat: Casey’s other ex, Evan, has a big story ahead of him — and he’s getting an older brother, to be played by Step Up 2 stud Robert Hoffman.  Source: TV Guide

I know it’s a ways off by I have important Greek questions: Does next season pick up right where we left off? Are we still in Rusty’s freshman year? and does that mean we will not see Dale until season 3?
Ausiello: “We’ll finally be out of Rusty’s freshman year,” reveals Greek creator Sean Smith of season 2.5, which kicks off next March. “When we return it’s the fall of his second year and Casey and the upper-classmen’s fourth. It’ll be a whole new year, with Rush (like the pilot) all over again, new pledges, new fun!” And what about Dale? “He’ll definitely be around,” says Smith. “Only this year he’s living in Calhoun Hall as Rusty moves into the Kappa Tau house.” And just like God said in the finale, Rusty and Dale will be roommates again. But with a twist. And a funny one at that. —

Oh. My. God. After last week’s Greek episode, I have no idea how I’m going to last till the next year! Does Frannie really get away with starting her own house?
Yes she does! Sources on the set tell me the Iota Kappa Iota house is already in full swing. Because of the IKI (pronounced “icky,” tee hee) house, Zeta Beta Zeta is going to be desperate for girls, and will even pair up with the Kappa Taus for a party. When it goes down, Cappie and Casey will get into a huge fight over the fact that a nongreek male is in attendence…Max! Yup, he’ll be sticking around CRU. —

CSI: Las Vegas – Casting News

Consider the case of House’s disappearing P.I. officially solved: Michael Weston, who enjoyed a high profile run as Hugh Laurie’s spykick this fall only to vanish without a trace, has turned up on CBS, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The former Six Feet Under kidnapper has been cast as a charismatic con man in an upcoming episode of CSI. Juggling multiple aliases, including a real estate mogul, a movie producer, an art dealer, and his brother, Weston’s character has spent much of his adult life scamming those around him. But it’s his newest identity — psycho killer — that gets the attention of the CSIers.
Weston’s episode begins production today and is slated to air this March.

New details are emerging about Jennifer Westfeldt’s forthcoming arc as a patient on Grey’s Anatomy. Or, I should say, new detail : She’s married to Angels in America

‘s Ben Shenkman. […] He’s not dropping by Seattle Grace to keep vigil at his ailing wife’s bedside. According to a Grey’s insider, he’s a patient, too — and a critical one at that. Like Westfeldt, Shenkman is signed on for multiple episodes. […] [Eric Stoltz’s serial killer character] is there to receive medical attention after he suffers a major beat down in prison. [T.R. Knight, who plays George, is in talks to be released from the show.]

Episode 5.15 – Before and After

Episode 5.15 – BEFORE AND AFTER – 12-Feb-2009

New Smallville Spoilers, Photos & Previews!

Episode 8.11 – Legion – CW Synopsis

DC COMICS’ LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARRIVE IN SMALLVILLE FROM THE FUTURE TO HELP CLARK STOP BRAINIAC AND THE PERSUADER — The aftermath of Doomsday’s (Sam Witwer) attack on Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy’s (Aaron Ashmore) wedding leaves Clark (Tom Welling) in shock, but before he can search for the kidnapped Chloe, The Persuader (guest star Fraser Aithceson) appears and attacks him. Rokk (guest star Ryan Kennedy), Imra (guest star Alexz Johnson) and Garth (guest star Calum Worthy), also known as The Legion, step in from the future to help vanquish the Persuader and the group realizes Brainiac has taken over Chloe once again. Meanwhile, up at the Fortress, Chloe, as Brainiac, informs Davis he is Doomsday and was created to kill “the other Kryptonian” and destroy the world. Source: CW

I’m dying to know what happens to Smallville’s Chloe (Allison Mack) in the wake of Doomsday kidnapping her at her wedding! MATT: I just got off the horn with Sam Witwer (aka Davis/Doomy), and he says the Jan. 15 episode picks up more or less with “the absolute aftermath” of that wedding-smashing. How will Chloe bounce back from her abduction by the abomination? “That’s a good question,” Witwer hedges. “Chloe has an alter ego [aka Brainiac] as well, and that plays into how she’s going to progress as a character.” As for critically injured Jimmy, his assailant’s portrayer kindly offers, “I’m hoping the guy pulls through.”  — Source: TV Guide

Episode 8.12 – Bulletproof – Synopsis

JOHN JONES IS SHOT — Clark (Tom Welling) discovers John Jones (guest star Phil Morris) was shot while working as a police officer, so Clark dons the uniform and goes undercover to find the culprit. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) confronts Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and tells her Lex isn’t the man she thinks he is. Lana’s shocking news forces Tess to reevaluate her position as the head of Luthorcorp. Source: CW

Episode 8.14 – Requiem – Steve Lombard

We know nothing about how he factors into this story at all, but the character of Steve Lombard – introduced in the 1970’s Superman comics – makes an appearance, where he will be played by Ray Galletti. In the comics, Lombard is generally known as a sports reporter, both on television and in the Daily Planet. Thanks to Andy for the tip. Source: KS

Episode 8.17: Hex  — February-April 2009

12/18 – In one scene, Clark stares lovingly into Chloe’s eyes, but only because he thinks it’s Lois. It’s at that moment that Chloe learns how hard Clark has fallen for Lois.

Source: The Ausiello Files

Is there anything in the Smallville episode “Hex” that furthers the Clark-Lois relationship? — Trisha
MATT: It’s fair to say there’s a little something for every fan base in this season’s 17th outing, in which a truly magical magician fulfills Chloe’s wish to have Lois’ “easy” life … by transplanting her into her cousin’s body. While my frenemy already teased a “longing look” between Clark and “Lois” — and Erica Durance’s admirers can obviously count on seeing gobs of their fave actress — Chloe fans should be very pleased with an epiphany their girl reaches at episode’s end. By the way, you know Clark gets a wish granted as well, right?  — Source: TV Guide

Kristen Kreuk has gone from sappy sweetie Lana Lang on Smallville to the ass-kicking bad-ass title role in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Sporting a new do to accompany her new tude at Spike’s Video Game Awards yesterday, Kristen gave us the exclusive dirt on her new role, and why she will not disappoint her Smallville fans.

Kristen Kreuk Talks

Will you be popping up on Smallville anymore this season?
I will. I have four more episodes that will air starting January 15th.

Anything you can share with us?
Lana is coming back after being away for a long time. The audience gets to find out what happened to her, what occurred during that time period. She’s very different when she comes back. Then she gets a beautiful send-off. She’s been a victim for so long, so she gets a beautiful send-off as a hero that her fans will really, really like.

Is this the last season of Smallville?
I don’t know. It depends on whatever goes on between Tom Welling and the powers that be. If there is another season, I won’t be there – that is all I know!  — Source: Fearnet

Sci-Fi Magazine Teasers

The new issue of SciFi magazine has lots of teasers and hints–but no specific spoilers–about things coming up in the second half of the season, including Clois and the two possible ways the season can end!

Chimmy lives on: Kelly Souders says that the couple will “try to manage life” after their wedding but that it won’t be easy for them.

In “Power” (the only episode specific spoiler), we’ll learn what Lana was up to before her return, including some secrets she’s been keeping.

Re: the show’s two villains: The only real comment about Doomsday was that “we all know that doesn’t end well.” As for Tess, it sounds like we should expect to see her league of super-powered villains let loose at some point this season.

Clark’s transition to Superman: “Clark’s strugge to become the Superman we all admire faces new challenges.” KS noted that Oliver and the other members of the Justice League haven’t had the same struggle with developing their superhero identities as Clark has because their first identities aren’t lies. But for Clark, the transition is harder because Clark Kent, farmboy, is already a mask. She adds that Clark’s humanity also gets in the way.

The end of the season: KS confirms what we’ve heard before. PS3 have planned two different potential arcs to end the season depending on whether this is the last season or not (I assume what we’ve heard before remains true, that the only episodes that would be different are the final 6–that is episodes 17-22). She also insists that there are plenty of stories left to tell, “People have been telling Superman stories for decades, so we have no doubt we can tell stories for another year.” And here’s the real tease: depending on whether the show ends this year or there is a season 9, the final episode “will either be a heroic send-off or a heartbreaking decision for Clark to move on to the next phase.”

Lois and Clark relationship: KS hints at what’s ahead, “After a near-kiss with Lois, emotions and lust are flying. Their chemistry is charging full speed ahead, but let’s face it, their insecure walls are getting in the way.”

New Brothers & Sisters Spoilers!

I’m in Brothers & Sisters withdrawal. When are we getting the next new episode and what can we expect in 2009?!
Besides a new baby, a heart condition and felony embezzlement charges? Well, it seems Rebecca and Justin’s relationship will really be on the rocks. There’s a serious rift in store, perhaps spurred by Tommy’s upcoming plan to cut Holly’s control of the family business, which I first reported a couple months ago… Oh, and the next new hour airs January 4th.

Any scoop on my favorite Walker brother, Justin?
Besides dealing with a possible broken heart, the big J will look to broaden his horizons by applying to school in early 2009. Word is, J.W.’s past as an army medic may inspire a future career as a physician… though, for some reason, I so can’t picture that. — Source: Zap2It’s Korbi TV

Tommy Walker is the most annoying sibling on Brothers & Sisters — in a family chock full of annoying. Will he ever get a storyline that will make me like him more?

Tommy is definitely the weakest Walker link. Try this: Cover up Balthazar Getty’s eyebrows with your hand and then tell me if you still see any acting going on. Nevertheless, his role in the ensemble works for me, but only in the way that every family has a not-quite-as-interesting sibling, right? (Nobody asked for your opinion, random reader Kristen O’Connor.) The good news is that the writers will use Tommy’s wildly uneven business acumen as a narrative jumping-off point when The Eyebrows find themselves furrowing for a sobering audience: a judge. — Source: TV Guide

New Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Callie’s New Love Interest

I heard a rumor that Sara Ramirez has been offered a TV show in which she will star. While I question the reliability of the source, I hope this is true. She is a talented actress who does not get any recognition or decent writing for her Grey’s Anatomy character.
“Que sera, Sara?” you ask? Ramirez’s rep tells the Buzz, “We haven’t heard that rumor” about her being courted for a series of her own. In the meantime, I’m told that Grey’s‘ bi-curious Callie will pick up where she and Erica left off, this time with the pediatric surgeon being played by Jessica Capshaw beginning Jan. 8. But contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere, these two won’t start steaming up until Capshaw’s third appearance (of at least several). — Source: TV Guide

More Supernatural Spoilers! More Sam!

The first half of this season’s Supernatural has pretty much been The Dean Winchester & Castiel Show featuring guest appearances by Jared Padalecki‘s Sam. Is this a trend that you see continuing?
I know, people are still smarting from “In the Beginning,” right? This I can tell you: When the season resumes on Jan. 15, the first two episodes are equal parts Dean and Sam (with the first entry being gloriously dark and scary). But what Jared fans should most look forward is the third outing, “After School Special,” in which both teen and modern-day Sam experience much emotional upheaval.  — Source: TV Guide
