Exclusive: ‘Bones’ boss promises ‘big changes’ next season

A word about the season finale of Bones, in which the entire Jeffersonian team — Booth and Brennan included — split up: whoa! That said, let’s ask executive producer Stephen Nathan one of the only two questions you have — and since “WTF?” is rather a rude query, I’m going with, “Okay, what next?”
“The start of the season will have Booth and Brennan meeting [12 months later] at the coffee cart, and the series will start again… though on very different footing,” he says. “There will be big changes.”
Big as in, maybe B&B don’t come back alone big? “Perhaps not alone,” Nathan teases, adding, “There’s a potential for a new recurring character or two next season.”
But don’t freak — or try not to, he pleads. When the Jeffersonian team reassembles, your favorite characters will all be there, and they’ll “be the same people, [just] with one solid year of independent life under their belts. So when they see each other again, they will be different.
“Our intention was to really shake things up,” Nathan continues, “so that we don’t just come back with the same dynamic.”

I think that even if they do come home with significant others, it’ll just be temporary, because them being able to understand each other the way they do, and that “thing” between them is part of what makes them work so well together. That being said, I hope this year apart makes them (especially Brennan) realize just how much they mean to each other, and to do something about it, because if you can’t tell, I’m a huge B&B supporter.

/ May 22, 2010OMG. as soon as it said ‘ recurring character ‘ Sully just poped into my head. i rely hope not though as i think he is Booths 1 main threat. i rely hope that they do get together because i just feel they have strung it out for too long.

/ May 22, 2010I thought the finale was an interesting twist and when it comes back I hope we see the relationship between Booth and Brennan grow and they will come to relaize that they belong with each other. Also I would like to see some new characters and of course more murder and forensics.

/ May 24, 2010I think even if Brennan or Booth come back with someone, it’ll be temporary. They can’t really drag out the thing between them two for any longer. It’s been going on for two seasons and it’ll just get too frustrating. Their ending’s probably gonna be similar to Angela and Hodgins.

/ May 24, 2010OMG…I’m a huge B&B fan, I really want Brennan to realize that She and Booth belong together, not many people can understand Brennan the way that Booth does. They teach each other things that no one does. The fact that Booth wanted to get each other a try its proof enough that he loves her but she was afraid of change or something. I really hope that a year will change them but not for worst just for that making them understand that they belong together. To be honest, the fact that they can’t work together if together is just an excuse because they don’t want to ruin what they have, in fact it will only make it better between them in some many ways

/ July 2, 2010They can not possibly come back with a season six and with out the Booth and Brennan “unspoken love”. They are what made the show! It is sad that they left each other, but it is obvious that they love each other, even if Brennan is too afraid to see where it will go. Hopefully time away from Booth will allow that wall she has built up to break and realize that he makes her complete. Hopefully they wont go and make too many big changes and mess up the great love story!

when they meet again they will finally realise they’re meant for each other and live happily ever after, the end.

I want it to be happy ending between B&B. The final in season 5 make me disappointed caz it feels sad…no hug…no kiss…just only their sight. I hope they’ll be together finally.

Also I wish the ending song was a bit more romantic to give us hope that their relationship will heat up within the first few ep of season 6.
I really hope that the character coming back is Zack cuz I really miss him. It’s just so sad without him there.
Also all the pole out there who liked sully and bones together r nuts. BOOTH and bones belong together not sully. It was just gross. Bones deserves someone much hotter and better. Which would b booth.

SUCH a waste of hotness. they need to just jump eachother and have a season of bones being pregnant with booths baby. they could stretch that out for a while and even tho they are together it doesnt mean the show has to end! 🙂

/ August 1, 2010I watched an interview where David Boreanaz says that he’ll meet a corespondent and will come back with her. He likes her because she is really similar to Brennan. In Maluku Temperance realizes that she made a mistake when she said no to Booth’s offer for them to be a couple but when she comes home she doesn’t tell him because she loves him and wants him to be happy with his new girlfriend.

/ August 1, 2010I don’t want big changes. When I finished season 5 I thought that “don’t be sad, it’s just a year, and everything will be the same”. And when I started reading this article, the first that I saw was; big changes. I’m really afraid these changes. I don’t want to believe to anybody, because I don’t want that you all saying. I think that will happen, what Nikole said, but I don’t want to believe it. It would be awkward, and horrible, but I know, this is will happen… Or something like that… And it’s sad…

I mean watching season 5 i found myself skipping to the end just to see the part where B&B actually interacts in a ‘real’, non-work way. / August 17, 2010I read somewhere that Booth comes back with a journalist girlfriend he met in Afghanistan, so my guess would be that Brennan finally comes back and realizes she and Booth should be together but then he’s the one who is unavailable. But it’s only a matter of time..

/ September 18, 2010I like the show like it was. I wish Zack had not been written out. He was such a fun part and the play between him and Hodgins was so funny. “King of the Lab” will never work with anyone else. I am not a big fan of Brennan’s father but I assume it adds a new way to take a story line. By this time Brennan should have a little more “normalcy” being around Booth and Angela so much. All in all I really like this show and hope a lot does not change in the new season
