New Friday Night Lights Spoilers: Season Finale Scoop!

Can you please enlighten me on the future of Friday Night Lights? Please tell me this won’t be the last season!
No decisions have been made yet, but according to big-time FNL fan Chris Littmann of The Sporting News, the ratings trend on DirecTV is at least positive. BTW, how amazing was the birds-and-bees-talk episode where (spoiler alert if you haven’t seen it) Coach walked in on Julie and Saracen? The Emmy voters should be throwing awards and rose petals at Connie Britton‘s feet, for crying out loud, and Kyle Chandler‘s, too. The new season of FNL starts on NBC next Friday, Jan. 16.

Gimme some Friday Night Lights scoop! This season has been so wonderful!
If Tyra’s college essay doesn’t make you cry, you have no soul. It’s like Aaron Sorkin was her ghost writer. Epic. Oh, and the Tyra-Landry lovin’? That might make you cry, too.

I adore Friday Night Lights! What’s in store for the season-ender?
We learn Joe McCoy’s endgame, and it’s as ugly as we originally suspected. (You’ll be left wishing that Mayberry Machiavelli Buddy Garrity were a little more Machiavelli and a little less Mayberry. He didn’t see this one coming at all.) That said, the resulting setup for season four (which we must have) is downright brilliant. Speaking of season four, Coach and Tami Taylor must come back. Right? If you’re in the Panther cheering section, holler in the comments below, won’t you? — Source: Kristin on E!Online

New Gossip Girl Spoilers: Georgina’s Baaack!

Gossip Girl, Michelle Trachtenberg Giovanni Rufino/The CW

Back in early December, I also reported plans to bring back Georgina toward the end of this season, and FYI, that’s what I’m still hearing—and not just from my sworn frenemy. I still think she’s the most solid candidate for the spinoff, BTW. But you didn’t hear that from me! — Source: Kristin on E!Online

Batten down the hatches, Upper East Siders — Hurricane Georgina is blowing back into town.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Michelle Trachtenberg is reprising her role as Blake Lively’s arch nemesis on Gossip Girl for multiple episodes.

A Gossip rep declined to comment, but my UES mole says Georgina, who was last seen being carted off to the Kimberly Shaw Correctional Institute for Psycho Bitches, will reappear toward the end of the season.

In related news, have you heard the rumor that Georgina will turn out to be Lily and Rufus’ MIA love child? Crazy, right? Well, it’s even crazier when you consider the fact that said love child is (spoiler alert!) ******** * **.

First asterisk quiz of the new year! Woo-hoo!

Gossip Girl – Spoilers and Speculation

Ah, the first week of the new year. The holiday greetings and gay happy meetings have come to a close, and you’re left with a full voicemail box, an overflowing inbox and the sense that the entire world is tilting left, which may indicate that you’re still slightly hungover from New Year’s Eve or that you have the beginnings of an inner ear infection. The only thing keeping you afloat as you trudge through the longest day of the work year is this: You know she loves you. And tonight, at 8 ET on the CW, Gossip Girl returns.

Because I love you too (though obviously not as much as Gossip Girl does), I’ve compiled all of the spoilers and speculation about the second half of Season 2 into one post. There are actual, legitimate, confirmed spoilers below. Read at your own risk!

First up, Michelle Trachtenberg will return as Serena’s frenemy, Georgina Sparks, which can only mean excellency.

Last time Georgina roared into town we got possibly the best confession in television history. (Serena: “I murdered someone!”) Blair ultimately had Georgina shipped off to St. Mary’s Center for Incurably Criminal Hos, but not before Georgina, um, handily assisted Dan Humphrey with some stuff. Michael Ausiello reported the news of Georgina’s return yesterday, and also mentioned that there’s a rumor going around that she is actually Rufus and Lily’s long lost love child. (Because that won’t mess Dan up forever.)

Secondly, Laura Breckenridge, who you might remember from Loving Annabelle, is coming on to play a very young English teacher at Constance Billiard.

When the news first broke, it was reported that Breckenridge’s character would “sink her claws into Blair.” Sadly, that turned out to be entirely academic. No lesbian love affair with the older teacher for Blair Waldorf just yet. Apparently, Breckenridge will be the cougar to Dan’s Pacey Witter.

Thirdly, there is a confirmed pregnancy in the works. It’s not Lily, Serena or Jenny, and that’s all we know. Someone will be great with child before the season is over, though. My money is on Eleanor or Vanessa.

Finally, there’s apparently a storyline in the pipe that is so racy even Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) was shocked to find out about it. When asked about details, Szohr would only say that when she read the script, she was like, “They can do that?!”

Unconfirmed rumors are as follows: Lily will be attacked, and the identity of the attacker will shock us; not all of Constance Billiard’s seniors will go to college; Jack Bass is coming to town to fight Chuck over Bass Industries; and Rufus and Lily’s secret will finally come out.

It seems like the writers are going to give us the kind of season back-end we missed last year because of the strike. What do you think about the spoilers for the rest of the season? What would you love to see happen before the finale? Source: After Ellen

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Grey's Anatomy ABC/RANDY HOLMES

Oh, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, you sneaky devil. You always keep us guessing—even from beyond the grave!

Even though he is fully dead on Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural and Weeds, that didn’t stop JDM from schtupping Izzie (Katherine Heigl), and now, bearing fruit to one of the biggest, jaw-dropping, show-changing plot twists we’ve heard all TV season long. (Honest engine.)

Turns out, Jeffrey may be a daddy to a secret son on a certain show, and this certain show will be changed forever because of this upcoming plot twist.

Jared Padalecki, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, Supernatural David Gray/The CW

What’s the latest on Jared and Jensen on Supernatural?
Let’s just say that if you happen to look like these dreamy dudes above (and God bless you for it), you should contact the CW right away, because I’m hearing that yes, you guessed it! There just might be a third freaking Winchester brother out there. Hear that? It’s the sound of my mind exploding! I’m told that the possible third brother has not been cast, but we’ll start hearing rumblings of another son courtesy of Dean and Sam’s father John Winchester, aka Jeffrey Dean Morgan, this season. Seriously, does that dead dude get around or what?! Meanwhile, I’m dying to know what you think of this twist and if anyone out there could possibly be delicious enough to pull off the same genetic code as Jensen and Jared. So please comment below, and if you have any casting suggestions, bring ’em!

On Supernatural, do you know if Alistair was destroyed or just repelled? I’m curious if we’re going to see him again?
Yes, Alastair will return later this season, but in a new, nastier “meat sock” form.

Brothers & Sisters Episode Recap: “A Father Dreams”

Brothers & Sisters Episode Recap: “A Father Dreams”

When we last saw the Walkers, they were celebrating Thanksgiving in the hospital cafeteria after Kevin gave a piece of his liver to save his <strike>niece</strike>daughter’s life. (Read the full recap here.) This episode picks right up with Kevin recovering under the watchful (and overbearing) eye of Nora, who won’t let Scotty help in the way he likes. Meanwhile, Justin gets dissed by a first grader, Nora gets an unwanted blast from the past, Robert and Kitty rekindle a part of their relationship they’ve been missing and Tommy and Kevin squabble over possible daddy issues created by Elizabeth’s surgery (and the ensuing dreams Kevin now can’t stop). And, of course, there was some Walker arguing. The holidays are over, so let’s get to it.

Many of Kevin’s scenes in this episode were taking part in a series of dreams Kevin was having related to his recent ordeal with Elizabeth, particularly learning that he is he biological father. The dreams range from Nora serving liver (!) to Kevin and Julia making out to Scotty in a World War II soldier’s uniform. Ultimately, however, Kevin interprets the dreams to mean that for the first time, he believes he actually could be a parent, as in his final dream he consoles an older Elizabeth and makes her stop crying. As scary as his dreams are, he wakes to a real nightmare — Nora and Scotty arguing endlessly over how to treat their patient. Ultimately, Kevin uses Justin to bust him out of the house, choosing to recover at a five-star resort instead. (Great, funny sequence, from Justin’s trumpet to his awkwardness with Scotty and Nora. I was chuckling through it all.)

Justin has his own problems to deal with. While attending nephew Cooper’s first-grade class as (Justin thought) a distinguished guest for show and tell, Justin is embarrassed when Cooper calls him out for still living at home and playing video games all day. Ouch. But Sarah leads the natural Walker response: gather the family for an intervention, although this time for Justin’s lack of drive. Tommy tells Justin he has to get out of Nora’s “quicksand” house, and “let life suck a little bit” to get going. Sarah later learns, however, that Justin wants all the things they have suggested, but fears leaving his “safe zone” because he overdosed the last time he was on his own. Even so, Sarah helps him pick out a place (or a “dump” as Justin put it) and Nora is ultimately proud that Justin wants to move on. I’m sure the thoughtful gratitude Justin showered Nora with made it an easier pill to swallow….read more

Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: “Home Is the Place”

Desperate Housewives Episode Recap: “Home Is the Place”

It’s been nearly a month since the last new episode of Desperate Housewives. To refresh your memory about our last visit to Wisteria Lane, read my recap of the Dec. 9 episode here. Then read on to find out whose “Home Is the Place.”

Meet the parent
Alex’s mom Melina (guest star Joanna Cassidy) is in town to meet the Hodges, and she’s a pistol! She’s a blowsy “mature cocktail waitress” who immediately throws down the gauntlet with Bree when she annoyingly “calls” Christmas with the boys. This makes Bree clutch her pearls. “Nobody’s better at plastering on a fake smile and pretending to like someone than Bree Hodge,” says a reassuring Orson when Bree complains about her uncouth new in-law.

Though I liked Cassidy in this role, I couldn’t help but think how much sharper she was as Brenda’s blowsy, feral mom on Six Feet Under. And while the mothers’ rivalry is cute, the whole escalation (where the boys will celebrate holidays, where Alex will work, where they’ll live) is kind of annoying in that it completely precludes “the boys” from anything resembling free will. What kind of spineless jerk lets his mother make these kind of decisions for him? (Hi, Mom!)

Ultimately, Bree staves off Melina’s attempts to get Andrew and Alex to move to Oakdale by buying them a house on Wisteria Lane. (I bet Danielle is pissed she settled for community college and a convertible now!) Speaking of trashy (wait, were we?), I have a friend who is always saying that blush wine is making a comeback, and I guess now that “Mrs. Van de Kamp” is serving it at her dinner party I have to believe her. Either that or it just looks better on camera than Chianti.

For love or money
Carlos quit his job at the country club because, now that he has his sight back, he has realized that massaging naked people is gross. Heh. He wants to go work with the blind at the community center, do something fulfilling, help people. Gaby, on the other hand, wants to be rich again, so she’s in favor of the six-figure offer on the table with “kind-of-an-ass” Bradley Scott. Even though dinner with Bradley and his drunkity-drunk wife, Maria, is tense and fraught with ethical slipperiness (“That’ll be a good story to tell the other CEOs in hell,” Carlos snarks of his corporate-raider escapades), he decides to take the job anyway at Gaby’s behest. It’s sort of sweet actually.

Blond on blonde
So finally Edie catches on to Dave’s erratic behavior, but is it too late? His meds have run out, and he actually killed his prescribing physician. (I hate when that happens.) Is it bad that I find this character hilarious rather than menacing? Neal McDonough’s sweaty-faced shuffling through his briefcase o’ pills had me reaching for the laughing gas. Scraping the prescription containers for residue was a nice touch. But when Edie catches him chatting with his dead family, she has had enough. “I don’t need an apology,” she reports. “I need an explanation.” But before Dave can stammer out anything resembling the truth (because, how could he explain really?), Edie throws him out. As he’s doing the Wisteria Lane Walk of Shame, he crosses paths with one Mrs. McCluskey (more on her later), who has just returned from a bad storyline in Boston.

He kissed a girl
Forget Mike and Jackson; my new favorite sidekick for Susan is Lee! M.J. is with Mike, Jackson is out of town, and Susan’s bored, so she wants to go clubbing with Lee. (Kevin Rahm, who plays Lee, is the MVP of this week’s episode.) “Gays love me,” Susan reports. “Pile on the makeup; drag queens get their first drink free,” replies Lee. While drowning their respective sorrows at the bar, Lee asks if Susan loves Jackson or if he’s her “closing time” guy. Susan says she loves Jackson, and to prove it, she’s going to move to Riverton with him.

Then, to dissuade his own “closing time” guy who’s moving in for the kill, Lee asks Susan to pretend that they’re a couple… in a gay bar, which seems plausible. “I have to throw him off the scent. Mind if I grab one of your boobs?” he asks. Cut to a hungover Susan waking up next to Lee. Uh-oh! As she attempts to piece together what exactly transpired after closing timing, the evidence is damning. Two empty bottles of red and one smooth jazz CD later, Susan concludes that she slept with a gay guy. Lee’s morning-after behavior does nothing to disabuse her of this notion. “That was fun last night — different, but fun,” he says with a smirk as he buttons up his shirt.

Susan calls in the troops (in this case, Gaby) for reinforcements when she realizes she doesn’t remember sleeping with Lee. She keeps things anonymous, which encourages Gaby to guess who the lucky guy (er, gay) is. Is it Lou, Susan’s mechanic? “Let’s face it. You like your service providers,” Gaby says. Heh. As luck would have it, Bob shows up at this very moment to verify Lee’s story that he crashed at Susan’s place the night before, since “when he’s got a few drinks in him, he’ll bang anything with a pulse and facial hair.” Eva Longoria Parker’s belly laughs in this scene were contagious, right? Naturally, Susan has come to the incorrect conclusion, which Lee eventually corrects. “Ye gods no, are you insane?” Lee answers when she asks if they did the deed. “Hello? Listening to opera in a kimono? What more do you need to know?”

[Aside: Did anyone else wish those Carnival Cruise Line ads with the giant beach balls and piñata were a smidge cooler? They were edited funny. Unlike this Sony Bravia ad, which makes me want to run out and buy 10,000 televisions it’s so artful.]

Double lack of vision
While Lee is off not sleeping with Susan, Lee’s partner, Lawyer Bob, is stuck with the worst clients ever: the Scavos. Bob figures out their identical-twin courtroom switcheroo pretty quickly (thanks, Penny!), and rightly scolds them for being such a bunch of boneheads who could get him disbarred.

Here’s an observation: One of the twins — Charles Carver, who is currently playing Porter pretending to be Preston — can’t act. I’m not saying that his brother Max, who plays Preston, is a young Brando or anything, but he’s much better at conveying teen angst than the seemingly made-of-wood Charles. Anyhow, Porter’s hiding out with his grandmother, Stella, which is an idea made in Bad Idea Heaven, so naturally a Scavo came up with it.

Sisters of mercy
The poorly used McCluskey sisters (I bet Lily Tomlin’s agent is pissed right now) sat in Dr. Heller’s waiting room in Boston for the whole episode. Seriously. That’s all they did. Well, Karen cracked a tallboy. But that isn’t exactly noteworthy. Now that they’re back, one has to wonder: Why did they go? And why was Roberta so hellbent on giving up the fight? Something doesn’t add up there, and I’m hoping it’s not just the scriptwriting.

NEXT WEEK!
Edie slaps Susan! Juanita loves Daddy more! Bree and Orson “make a little love”! Lynette appears to be in some sort of car accident.
